i got my elo from 850 to now 750 already... in elo hell... gonna hate feeder and leaver, you got that like 1 in a game... sad.gif, i kinda feel boring keep tanking with no carry...

Perhaps playing tryhard champions and getting yourself to a higher elo range before you start to tank again is a way you should try.

Hey guys, I've decided to play a bit of LoL, downloading now. I'm a newbie, have no experience what so ever in Dota or HoN. Now I have some questions, 1) I'm downloading the game from the LoL downloads website. I was wondering do I need to download the patches below??? 2) Which hero would you recommend me using??? I'm the sort of flanking kind of guy. wink.gif

If you are downloading from garena, that should be the latest version. No patch needed.

I've just started to play LoL garena, IGN : Maemo5.

Not sure how flanking could help, maybe tell us more about your preference. Basically there are five general roles I guess, full tank, bruiser(tanky DPS), AD carry("physical damage" dealer), AP carry(mage) and support(healer, CC and etc). Of course, there are also more specific roles like anti-carry(assassin) for example. I think support won't help much in lower level games so that's 4 roles for you to pick. If your flanking means come out of nowhere and kill your enemy in few seconds, then AD carry or certain AP carry is your role.

Well, I'm the kind of player that doesn't like to get too close. When I started, I used Ashe. Kinda like it. For me, I like ranged heroes cause the enemies can't get me that easily from a distance. tongue.gif Not sure if that's right.

GG LOL still laggy? been some time since i play there. after they release dominion, the lag is unbearable for me. its worse than my lag previously in NA sweat.gif
it couldnt be my ISP prob though. i tried HON-ing these few days and it is quite smooth eventhough the ping is higher (15x compare to LOL 9x)

Added on December 7, 2011, 2:08 ambtw, to those who wants to get out of ELO hell, here some advise.

DONT PICK SUPPORT. no, im not saying support is not important. try playing in some high ranking game and u can c how a good support PWN u. ok, maybe not him but he can make his carry live longer to kill off u guys.

but in low ELO games, they are utterly useless. based on personal exp,
1) i warded few key points (entrance to jungle, drag, baron, wards on their blue/red) and picked CV and keep CV around for enemy champ, my carry can still die to gank. its a wonder why he thinks that he can run away when 4 enemy champ are closing on him. so when he get ganked what do we do? we run to support/help him but end up all being in bad position and get teamkilled

2) used soraka n max heal/silence. i keep stay in bush n heal+mana our cait w/o hitting any creep. after 10 minutes, his CS is lower than 20. dont ask me why

3) using tankish build morg (ROA, FrozenH) and stun all enemy champ during clash. during that period of time, our carry fails to kill any champ

Probably going to stop jungling now with this patch. Feels to me like there's this timing around level 3-4 where you are ahead/equal levels with the laners, and that's when you can gank and snowball off it. But if your laners mess it up (I tried ganking yesterday, my teammate flashed backwards at full hp) then you'll fall behind the laners really really fast.

Of course you dont NEED to be equal/ahead of the laners to gank, even level 2 alistar can gank every lane, I'm talking in solo queue where you need to say "HEY GUYS LOOK AT THIS I'M HOLDING HIM DOWN I'M TAKING ALL THE DAMAGE JUST COME AND SHOOT HIM FOR FREE KILLS"

Which is why warwick will always be a reliable jungle pick in solo queue even though he is trash in premades.

I understand that but then going full tank sometime doesn't help that much when your carry ain't doing things. Of course, a bruiser is always a great choice to carry yourself out of hell, being tanky and provide good damage at the same time.

So a ranged, just like I said then, either an AD or an AP carry. I do think that an AP carry is better for beginner though since you just hit a few spells(and then walk away) and you will kill. AD needs a lot of farm to do very well. Ashe is okay but I think Caitlyn is a much safer newbie choice since Cait has an escape mechanism and the longest starting range in the game.

Even with old jungle you may fall behind unless you take some of the lane farm.

I think bot side double can also take double golems, with little penalty to jungler.

It's almost impossible to fail jungling now, at least for the earlier levels where most fails happen, dying to blue etc.

If you're desperate to get out of elo hell just play only newbie pubstompers nonstop. Champs that are hard to stop from farming, have good trades, easy to play, destroy people who make mistakes in lane and snowball well off the kill gold. A partial list would be something like Atmogs GP, Tryn, Graves/Cait/Vayne for AD carry, Akali (? haven't tried her post-nerf), Ryze, Sion/Morgana mid if you like to gank, Jax (probably sucks now but can still stomp), Fizz (? might lose mid tho), Rumble if you're good with him. And streamline out your item builds and study some roons and masteries.

The free champion changes every week. For NA, it rotates every week with 10 free champ on the pool while SEA provides a 20 champs pool, which is 99% similar to NA's champ(sometime will different for 1 or 2 champ though) but SEA keeps the champ in the pool for 2 weeks so you will be having NA's last last week and last week champions in the free pool in SEA as SEA is always late by a week when it comes to champion rotation.
