Good starter runes for anybody
CODE

Armor Penetration Red - great for AD, bruisers or jungles like Lee Sin/Trundle

Magic Pen Red - for any AP carry

Flat Armor Yellow - must-have for nearly all junglers

Magic Resist Blue - great for bruisers or tanks

Ability Power Blue - for any AP carry

Ability Power Quint - 30 AP with doran ring at start of game is gooding yo

Armor Penetration Quint - 25 armor pen (quint+red) at start of game is gooding yo

Situational runes
CODE

Dodge Yellow - awesome runes especially with Nimbleness, but expensive as fark

Attack Speed Blue - great for jungle Warwick or jungle Yi fast clear

HP Quint - crap now, but useful for ultra-safe jungle Amumu/Rammus lv1 blue

HP/5 Quint - great solo lane sustain for bruisers like Jarvan or Irelia

MP/5 Blue and Yellow - mid sustain for mana-hungry carries (e.g. Sivir, Ezreal, Heimer)

Flat CDR Blue - situational and expensive for alternative builds or CDR-heavy characters

Movement Speed Quint - for certain champs like Singed

I personally don't believe rune to be game-changing so I get a few champions at first. It's merely my opinion that if I know how to play the champion well, I can perform far better than having a set of rune on a champion I am not so familiar with but of course everyone has their own mindset. And by performing better with champions I know how to use, I win more thus higher IP gain, allowing me to gain runes much faster.

Ya man, buy one champ you like, and then rune him nicely laugh.gif

So you like Brand and are pretty solid with him, imagine now you rune Brand with flat runes giving you: +24 AP, extra 6 mp5 and 9 magic penetration at level 1. Ownage man.

I see. hmm.gif

So do you think the ideal setup is: Jungle, Top-lane Bruiser, AP Mid, AD, Support?

But the jungler has to be good.

I'm learning jungling and it's hard to make good decisions. A failed gank usually leads to enemy jungler taking my small camps, so I get both underfarmed and low level. If I focus on keeping up on farm and levels, teammates will yell at me for ganks.

My first real attempt at jungling had enemy Nunu taking my big wraith and double golems. And I tried to take dragon without clearing wards there, causing enemy Cho'gath to teleport to dragon ward and nom nom me XD

Jungler is definitely a tough job and I pretty much ain't good at it. One time enemy Noc steal my wraith camp and then I fail to steal his golem and after that, my game falls apart. doh.gif A lot of decision making as a jungler, really tough job.

Yeah I notice Noc players looove to steal Wraiths laugh.gif

If mid can land some attacks on him while he steals mah wraiths, it helps a lot
