Are you sure Kampachi import air-flown fresh fish from Hokkaido in daily basis...?
*
Yes! 100% confirmed. It is stated on their menu. You have prove they are not? Do share!

Hmm, I didn't know that. I entered with a firend of mine the other day and saw all kinds of Japanese food there, really nice ones, especially the kare, so I thought this topic will be fit for such.

Just interview their chef and ask them to proof by giving you to see the import invoice, performa invoice and related import document. smile.gif

That will be great! If you can give those, that proves what is stated in their menu is misleading.

Restaurant Name: Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant
Dining Time: Dinner

Kimuchi Nabe @RM30.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - The soup is real nice. There are a lot of different types of "shrooms" and a few seafood in it. Not one of the best nabe i had but it is still worth to try.

Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5

Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Wow! For unagi lover, you can really eat to the fullest with such a big piece of unagi! Quite tasty...not bad at all!

Close shot on sashimi with combination of Sakae, Maguro and Kampachi/Hamachi
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - If to compare with the sashimi at Kampachi, you should roughly recognize the difference. It is the way they slice the fish. I do not really like this way because I cannot really enjoy the sashimi. I believe it is because it comes in a set. I remembered my previous visit when I ordered a sashimi was not like this. If it is true, then I hope they do not change the quality even it comes in a set.

No wi-fi available here and the parking in this shopping mall is quite a pain especially during weekends. The hot/cold green tea is free of charge and it is bottomless. For the food wise, Rakuzen has 5 branches and this branch is the one I visited the most. Every each time I visit, I feel their standard is dropping slowly. I do not know what has really caused it but when you have 9 high end branches and 10++ standard branches to maintain, I believe this may be the cause

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Recommended: Not a must go but still not bad to visit if you are around that area. nod.gif

"I'm not satisfied" ? Did I say "I'm not satisfied" and why u should blame me ? I didn't do something wrong to you, my friend...

How well u know about kampachi ? Are you 1 of their waiter/chef or supplier ? the import duties and import sales very expensive... Even a 5 star hotel don't dare to import daily basis.

No point arguing with a tough skin buffalo..it's up to you to believe or not..

Peace smile.gif

Golden Rule for Japanese Restaurants :
The more pricey the better.

Painful, but truth. smile.gif

thus far my fav places

mizu - bangsar village I second floor, note its expensive, a plate of plain salmon sashimi is about 40 bucks

nihonkai- one of the hardest to find jap restaurants in kl, prices are reasonable, (one meal is about 20-30 bucks set) , its not too expensive so dont expect great quality sashimi however the sukiyaki here is to die for, i think the best in kl. take heed this restaurant is jam packed during the weekends.
