I don't expect Arsenal to challenge for UECL spot when half of the "arguably 1st team" squad is 23 or younger.

Szcnesny 21
Gibbs 21
Koscielny 25
Vermaelen 25
Sagna 28
Song 23
Wilshere 19
Ramsey 20
Walcott 22
Van Persie 28
Gervinho 24

the problem is we are lack of a creative playmaker, who can make and create chance for the striker. Gervinho, ryo, Chamberlain??They cant take the central role. Jack certainly can take that place, but i dont think ramsey can, for me he is too "soft".

Well this is for reading pleasure.  But definitely will be ultra happy if it becomes real :-

Arsene Wenger's attempts to recruit desperately needed reinforcements to bolster his faltering side may rest on Arsenal's abilities to reach the Champions League.

Wenger is hopeful of bringing in Sochaux's Marvin Martin, but two more of his targeted signings, Yann M'Vila and Eden Hazard, will wait until after tomorrow night's second leg against Udinese before deciding on a move to the Premier League.

Wenger is seeking to fill the gaps left by Cesc Fabregas's departure and Samir Nasri's impending move to Manchester City ahead of next week's transfer deadline. Everton's Phil Jagielka remains a target too, although the England centre-half is also unsure whether to make the move.

Martin has emerged as one of the rising stars of Laurent Blanc's refreshed national side – he scored twice in a summer friendly against Ukraine – and would cost in the region of £10.5m. Earlier this month Martin, 23, received high praise from the France manager after another friendly against Chile in which he outshone Nasri. "He feels the football," was how Blanc described Martin, who is known as "Petit Xavi" at Sochaux. Wenger works for French television as a co-commentator on international games so is well aware of his abilities.

We still have Arshavin to play in the centre.
Once we are through to CL, then we can reinforce the team.

Yea lets get through Thursday first, then worry later.

Robin van Persie Shocked As Wenger Says Arsenal Does Not Need To Buy

QUOTE
It has been revealed that Arsene Wenger has told skipper Robin van Persie that he does not need to buy new players.

The Daily Star reported that the Arsenal manager revealed in a meeting with the Dutch striker yesterday that he may not be ready to make any major plunge in the transfer market, despite the team’s poor start to the season.

Sources in Holland say van Persie – made club captain following the £35m sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona – was left stunned by Wenger’s attitude.

Van Persie is understood to have asked to see Wenger yesterday in the wake of the 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool, which left the Gunners with just a point and no goals from their first two league games.

Meanwhile, The Independent believe that none of Arsenal's planned deals will be completed unless they sneak past Udinese and stay in the Champions League.

'Wenger is hopeful of bringing in Sochaux's Marvin Martin, but two more of his targeted signings, Yann M'Vila and Eden Hazard, will wait until after tomorrow night's second leg against Udinese before deciding on a move to the Premier League,' says the paper.

'Arsenal have made a bid for the holding midfielder, with Rennes wanting around £12m. Hazard has long been coveted by Wenger and will come at a greater price, with Lille seeking £20m-plus for the playmaker who has also made his mark internationally as part of a bright young Belgium team. But both want to play Champions League football and are reluctant to say yes to Arsenal until after tomorrow's game against Udinese, with Arsenal defending a 1-0 lead from the first leg.'

What Nasri doing is quite understandable. He got a massive increment on weekly wages and challenging for top competition.

Man City are having a far more potential team than our current squad, not to say the unlimited transfer budget to strengthen the squad in every transfer window.

Some of the optimistic gooners believe that when the new EUFA rules come in place, our superb account book will be the role model for all clubs. But the question is, are we even good enough even only for the 4th spot? Are we able to hold it out tonite?

AW is trying to do the best for the club but what he's doing now is actually damaging the club. He's at a no man's land. Senior players slowly losing faith with him, supporters turning on him, yet he still trying either to protect the board of directors or the image of Arsenal FC.

Yes, the market is inflated but please look at the CL prize money and the broadcasting fees, they are bloody alot too. The further you go, the more money you make which can be used to offset all the expenditures on the club. What's the point of having a young player with great potentials but there's no great player around to show the way?

On the other hand, the medias focus on Arsenal since we're really in a very challenging time. Ppl are more interested in seeing others suffering.

what makes me worry right now is will Arsenal win or draw tmrw match
i really want Arsenal to qualify because it is a turning point for Arsenal

Qualify = Quality player will come, Arsenal player will gain more confident
Not Qualify = No one coming, Most of Arsenal star player want to leave Arsenal, lost confident to play in BPL

And Anelka too but Arsene did replace them with more committed player, hope he do the same in this situation.

I can see Frimpong be a fan favourite in near future. But he got lots to do to proved himself, and maybe he is too young to understand Samir situation.
