Dear Arsenal fans, prepare yourselves for yet more bad news. The Daily Mail are reporting that Jack Wilshere is facing an 'extended period on the sidelines after, in customary Arsenal fashion, trying to make a comeback ahead of sensible schedule. There are wo words left.

Meanwhile, The Independent believe that none of Arsenal's planned deals will be completed unless they sneak past Udinese and stay in the Champions League.

'Wenger is hopeful of bringing in Sochaux's Marvin Martin, but two more of his targeted signings, Yann M'Vila and Eden Hazard, will wait until after tomorrow night's second leg against Udinese before deciding on a move to the Premier League,' says the paper.

'Arsenal have made a bid for the holding midfielder, with Rennes wanting around £12m. Hazard has long been coveted by Wenger and will come at a greater price, with Lille seeking £20m-plus for the playmaker who has also made his mark internationally as part of a bright young Belgium team. But both want to play Champions League football and are reluctant to say yes to Arsenal until after tomorrow's game against Udinese, with Arsenal defending a 1-0 lead from the first leg.'

ARSENAL TO SPEND JUST £6M OF THEIR £70M
QUOTE
Arsenal fans should look away now.

In yet another head-in-hands disclosure, The Daily Mirror reckon that 'Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has had a bargain-basement bid for Gary Cahill laughed out of town by Bolton.' And no wonder, they've apparently bid £6m for a player who Bolton value at £17m.

Meanwhile, instead of actually spending some proper money, because they only have £70m or so sloshing about in their kitty, The Independent are reporting that Arsene Wenger is instead pursuring loan deals. Sweet heavens, we'd love to be making this up, but honestly we're not:

'Wenger is understood to have asked Marseilles about the option of taking Lucho Gonzalez, 30, on loan for this season for a fee of up to €5m (£4m) for nine months dependent on how many games he would play. The midfielder is 30 years old and the French club would prefer to sell him outright but Wenger has reservations about a permanent deal because of the player's age.'

Both The Indy and Telegraph also reckon that Arsenal are trying to sign Sochaux's Marvin Martin and Yann M'Vila of Rennes but are very unlikely to get Edin Hazard out of Lille.

To quote the latter:

'Martin is a similarly creative player who could fill the void left by Cesc Fabregas but, at 23, would be much more of a long-term signing. It is believed that Sochaux value Martin, a France international, at around £12 million.

'Arsenal have also targeted M'Vila, who would add real competition to Alex Song and Emmanuel Frimpong in a holding midfield role, but Rennes are reluctant sellers. However, it is understood that M'Vila is keen on Arsenal and the prospect of Champions League football as he tries to consolidate a place in the France team ahead of next year's European Championships.'

I think Fergie was doing Arsene a favour by not showing any mercy. If MU had stopped at 3-1, you think Arsene will wake up?

Agree with this, only big humiliation like this can wake Wenger up
