Any harmful impact on the engine if the engine oil is over filled by>0.5L? Notice that after sending my car for service at Kah Motor Melaka...

In owners manual, look around service& maintenance, overfiling engine oil can damage the engine. It should be below or ngam at upper level.

prius C seling so cheap at rm103k with 1.5 litre engine, i think nobody will buy insight after that.

1.5l with 78hp. Overall a weaker drivetrain and smaller car.

Even normal driving, Insight handles better than average sedan. With VSA even better. I remembered triggering TSC more frequently on my old Altis compared to VSA on the Insight.

But Prius C boot space only 260liters vs Insight 408liters. Insight folded rear seat 5xx liters.
I remembered one of my friend with small family (2 children) squeeze everything in the back of his myvi. Thats what happen on a 2xxliter booted cars.
2nd car it is.

U know malaysian brings children to shopping complex which is in the city, together with everything, stroller, baby basket, toys, milking accs, then shopping, end up putting everything on rear passenger seat.

So a big boot/b;) is a must for malaysian.

I just review the NCAP videos for Insight in youtube. The chassis of Insight seems more rigid compared to Yaris (Prius C base) though both scored 5 stars. However the tested Insight was the one with 7 airbags. I got the feeling honda will add more airbags & up the price.

For me, 2 airbags or 7 airbags, hope we wont have to use them. God forbid.

Side airbag is secondary... unless you have T-bone from side but if T-bone is a Lorry or SUV / pickup truck at high speed Side Airbag cant really help you much also... you will still end up visiting steve jobs...
*
Scary. Yes extra airbags is most welcome but i prefer active safety in the form of better handling, wide viewing angle for driver, VSA, good brakes & natural driving position which could prevent collision much earlier...

Hi guys anyone knows when the new 2012 Insight  facelift is coming in? It looks really good~!
*
It should be here soon. Once the 2011 model finish, everything will change to 2012 version.
Only whether they will bring in the 1.5l or not, no one knows.

Hope everyone can understand this tutorial. I try to explain as simple as possible.

I divide into 2 parts. Part 1 is installation of Boot Lamp Cover. Part 2 is getting the correct wiring for the boot.

Things you need to get ready to have OEM Honda Insight boot light

1) boot lamp cover Part number 34265-SFE-003.  Another cheaper version part number 34261-S5A-003
2) wiring 5 meter
3) cable ties
4) led bulb ( T10 version )
5) Pen knife
6) Scissor & Black tape
7) Wire coupler (optional)

Difficulty : 3 out of 5
Time spent : 5-6 hours.

Part One : Installing Boot Lamp Cover

Step 1 : Open the boot and locate the plastic cover on left side. Use a flat screwdriver cover with cloth to pry out the plastic cover on the top left corner. There is hole for the purpose to remove the plastic cover.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Step 2 : Check the cover and turn opposite way and see there is a shape which you can create the hole. I use a dremel to drill the hole then sand paper to smooth the edge.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Step 3 : Get the boot lamp cover to match with the plastic cover to ensure it fit properly.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Part Two : Finding The wiring

Step 1 : Get the negative source -> boot lamp source wire. Open the boot and slowly peel out the black protective rubber on right side. Locate Orange Wire.  Try use wire coupler or expose the orange wire with a new wire to connect our boot lamp. You need around 4 meter. Please do not cut the wire.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Step 2 : Once wire is connected, tidy the wire to the boot lamp location on left side.

Step 3 : You need to dismantle the boot cover, spare tyre, the accessories on the bottom section. Slowly peel the plastic cover one by one .

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Step 4 : Locate the positive wire ( Pink color ). Just like step 1, get another wire ( 1 meter ) to link with the positive wire.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Step 5 : plug the wire and connect with the boot lamp. To make it simple, put the pink color on top and orange color on the bottom. Later you shall know which is Positive and which is negative.

Step 6 : Take the boot lamp plastic and connect it with LED light

Step 7 : Test with the LED and the wire connection.

Step 8 : If everything is alrite, assemble back the boot compartment and the boot light is completed.

Its costing down by aftermarket manufacturer as customer always expect non-genuine aftermarket should be cheap. If only the visor cost mere RM50 i dont think we'll mind if its fly off once every few months.
The concern might be on safety & health of other motorist..
