hmm, i dunno how much tax is imposed in UK, but one of the Golf is selling for 18k+ Pound there... slightly cheaper than our Insight

Yeah lol, but I cant even remember the fuel price back when I was there. I think its a little more than a pound back in '04 when it was 1 pound to RM7.

Their freshie annual wage is around 18-20K pound a year (before deducting their crazy taxes of around 20-30% even for lower band), but it comes with lots of benefits. One way of evading taxes is working at a Chinese restaurant lol. Both never wanted to disclose information of themselves.

Perodua Kelisa sells below 3000 pounds lol. Means you can afford a car easily, but there is no point driving around there. Their cities are so small you can walk from one end to the other in less than a day. Except for London or maybe Birmingham.

You can get golf from 15k in UK if I recall correctly. Insight is not popular there due to the high price tag and tight competition of Prius  if I could just throw a few thousand and get Prius instead lol.
*
Lol, this would mean their freshie annual salary after taxes can get them a Golf? Theoretically la of course, since you need 200 to 400 pound to survive there. But I managed to do so on 150 pound not inclusive of rent. It was not that hard, you just need to cook yourself.

Fiat's Twinair definitely is worthy of praise. And OMG, its so cute.

In America, they do offer tax rebates for earlier batch of Leafs/Leaves. Not sure if they still offer that rebate. I heard drivers had anxiety attack due to the range limit. Its because of America's 110VAC supply causes a longer charging period and by the time it leaves home, it wont be fully charged.

Shift to R. It wont auto stop then...

Else fail, put in P or L? Do consider R 1st though.

I have to squeeze in my car porch and the engine stops and starts too often but just now with the Econ off, it moved without stopping.

The audio system is just so so. I have been advised not to strain the battery and the computer system by adding extras, such as an Amp. Anyone tried without affecting the lifespan of the normal battery or is it too early to tell?

I was kidding when I mentioned shifting into R. You should try L!! I got mine 3 days b4 you, how long did you wait? I got the Insight after getting sick of waiting for my Fiesta. I waited 2 and a half months.

Unig was right.
And to Calvin, I am okay with the bass but the fidelity is below my expectations. Any difference in FC and performance after installing the active sub. Technically, I believe extra load to the electrical system may void the warranty. Solutions?iPod?

Yours is quick, dude. I waited 1 week after loan was approved. The side step was scratched too, but I was too lazy to bother. Gonna install scuff plate later.

Fiesta's shape still amazes me still and I usually try to follow them closely to check it out. Too bad its rear seats are useless.

You don't have to. Ask him out for a meet and steal his.

Also if possible, get his bodykits, rims and tinting films too.

BTW, Chizzu... wanna meet up, I like your err... car.

Which part of KL do you commute to and fro?

I am only getting 18km/l. 75% Freeway and 25% crawling. Like real slow type of crawl. I do sprint when I feel like it.

You are getting the car after budget 2012 is announced?

Anyway, changes wont take place immediately. I hope you wont get affected and I wish you luck, sir!!

There are ready stocks everywhere. Unless you are looking anything deeper than the standard RM500 discount, there is no point waiting so long.

I got 2.65% 9 year loan from Hong Leong Bank. You can try Affin or Maybank. I heard they are quite competitive.

Wah? got rm500 discount ka.. better check with my SA.

I donno anything about 2012 budget rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif .. busy working~ cry.gif ... the price will increase or wat?
*
Wow, you must be a very rich guy. I managed to squeeze 1000, but I am required to get the car in Segamat; well, it was not that bad - treat that as a road trip. But in the end, i got it in KL. I am poor, but I have my own reasons.

Nothing's firm about the 2012 Budget, after all, Proton is launching their line of Electric Vehicles and probably the tax exemption will be continued.

Previously, the price went up to 99800 from 98000 due to the Tsunami. Well, Tsunami effect is over and the price is still stuck there. Even the buyers who booked prior to the Tsunami had to pay the extra 1800. I wonder it will happen to you too... but chances are so extremely low.

i've got 2.60% from affin bank.
*
Depends on the tenure and loan amount actually. The rate is still relatively low - so I'd rather extend the tenure. You get more if you put the money in Fixed deposit (3% or maybe more). Lol.

For me, I have a lot of housing loans and insurance instalment monthly. I'd rather put my extra money on the my flexible housing loans than reduce the car loan interest.

RM 17,886 in loan interest for the entire tenure seems a lot, but I need to look at the bigger picture.

I got 2.69% from mbb for 7yrs in aug 2011
*
Was offered 2.65% by Maybank for 7 years. However I opted 9 years with Hong Leong and still got 2.65%. 7 years loan has the best rate IMHO. Maybe my loan amount was higher and so they offered me better rate. Anyhow, difference is minuscule.

If you don't like disclosing your salary to too many parties, then go with Affin or Hong Leong. Do not disclose salary to the SA. Deal direct with the bank.

One good advise for people who are victim of hit & run by motors is that to get out of your car quick and grab their keys. It is likely they lost balance and fell.

I have heard from friends and relatives that they are likely using false number plates and do not have license. Even if they dont, they will zip off and you are too dazed to remember to take down their number.

Just help them to the side, then grab their key.

Funny though, I told my bro to do this, and when my bro turned around to attract a policeman nearby, that biker pushed his bike and jump started it and escaped!! Good thing, he got his key with the license tag of his friend's and his friend called back to settle.

Cost repair RM300 but risk of losing pearl coat.

I cannot see clearly, but does it require knocking / is it dented a lot? If knocking is not required, then it should be less than RM200. Just some putty clay and paint over the affected area. I hope RM 100 - 150 will fix it for you.

Well, I'm mostly travelling from Penang to KL, maybe twice a month. In Penang, I drive bout 7kms to my work, plus minus, at most 20 kms a day...

Worth to pay more? Or like ongdennis said, save that extra RM500...?
*
Do not be too over optimistic on the fuel savings you will get from an Insight. Myvi is relatively economical. Whatever savings you will make will be lost during the services. I am assuming your Myvi does not need to be serviced at Perodua SC anymore. Stay debt free...

I had to change because my old car is starting to give me hefty repair bills and it is not able to cater for my needs.

I am doubtful if we can get RM0.06/KM with city driving. RM0.10/KM is more achievable with combined cycle.

If new ncd i think its ok to claim windscreen i think, compare to pay wibdscreen premium rm1k every year
*
Well, it depends on what ncb bonus you are getting. At 55% now, I would rather drive with a chipped mirror than claim for it. Your ncb loss is not only limited to the immediate 55% discount (of around 1500) but compounded over the subsequent 5 years. You will possibly lose RM 4600 over the course of 5 or 6 years.

Lol. hypermiling has reached a new height.

Its a space saver tyre right? Should not be much of a concern. A full set of body kits would have probably weighed in about that much.
