hmm, im quite sure the grill design is not the modulo type.
anyway thanks... am really keen on the new grill for the facelift model.
current grill quite similar with honda city.

cruise at 40-50KM for 5-10 sec u will notice RPM drop to 1k and car fully on battery for few KM if driving on flat land and no traffic in front any breaking they car will disengage the full battery mode or so call full battery mode lol

QUOTE
Today I just found a way to trigger the 100% Battery mode.
When run low speed smoothly (no climbing hill) and when you see combine battery+fuel mode, release the pedal and re-engage the pedal very lightly, then 100% battery mode will cut in.
Any extra accelerate/ battery drain/ climb hill will trigger combine battery+fuel mode again.

For those who never see battery full charge, I see before.
Just try to maximize any going down sloping (sacrifice some speed) during your battery full -1 bar.

yeah, whenever im not in hurry, i will do that to get the best milleage...especially during hiway cruise.
with this, u will see sudden increase in the Range km.

if i remember correctly, I managed to hold the fully battery run for almost 15-18secs.

My eyes are well trained to focus on both the battery info screen and the road. I have doing that since day 1 i get this car. haha

eventhough cruising 140km/h still I will usually take a glance on the FC info.

if you read the manual it recommends speed below 100km/h during break in period which is 1st 1000 km smile.gif
*
what i was told, the main reason of this 'break-in period' is not to protect the engine for 1st k km, it is mainly for the owner to get use the car and not to drive fast as soon as you get the ride...which make sense to me. tongue.gif

hmmmm now closing in on 10k mileage after 3 mths. starting to get more n more case of my car jerking. only happen @ low speeds.. around 20km/h - 45km/h when gently accelerating.

feels like the car is "hiccuping".... the jerking seems to be more frequent now.

other bros n sensei here - u guys get same issue? known issue among our 2nd gen IN2 or just me unlucky case?
*
just came back from JB and my colleagues told me that they both felt the jerking issue. but I didnt feel anything.
maybe when i drive civic, the jerking issues was worst.

anyway, these are positive n negatives comments from my colleagues on Insight:

Positive:
- nice interior
- very nice interior
- really nice interior (yes, both of them praised many times)
- very comfy as it is quiet especially on the hiway
- spacy boot
- good FC

Negative:
- hot ...aircond not cold (coz i engaged auto stop during jam or red light hehe)
- jerk when engage brake or braking during city drive
- rear seat too hard and high (my colleague is 6' tall)

overall, they said it is a good buy comparing to their stream and polo.

how does it feel like to drive a mild hybrid car compared to the much superior full hybrid prius?
*
mild or superior...who bother when i can easily hit 18-20km/l with budget of rm98k for cbu hybrid.
be my pleasure to go for any other ride if anyone think insight is shitty mild hybrid...that's what i always told my colleagues of frens.

cheers to all insight haterz... or myvian extremist

so far im ok with white color... am using KIT wash&wax, even after rain, the water or dust stain are not obvious. usually after rain, i will only wipe the windscreen becoz of the watermark and wiperstain.

compared to my previous black car...gosh, i prefer white.

i also just finish that topic...salute you so much...hahaha
but new thing really hard for ppl to accept. a lot ppl around me also comment a lot when i decide want to get insight, almost the same comment from that topic.

sometime beh tahan i tell them, i hope gov remove the petrol subsidy n let the petrol go up RM3 per liter, then we see who save more later.

off topic,
i order my Permanon liao...still waiting the supplier to sent it to me...

after 5months driving Insight, I am getting pissed off by all the doubts and questions on the FC and IMA battery realibility from my frens, relatives, colleagues and even my clients. Personally, I enjoy every single part of this car.

Earlier I was still patient enuff to explain to them on the technology and Fc I could enjoy...but now, all i will say is "DONT BUY HONDA INSIGHT"... its a crappy car.

but after I gave such sarcastic answer...they'll ask again .."why ah, why ah, Insight got problem right??"... vmad.gif

I need some input... Seriously, how much can Insight save? I've got a Myvi, am going to be done with the loan in 12 months' time. Am still pay RM500 per month for it. Should I sell it, and get an Insight? How much can I save? If I was to trade in my Myvi, and get an Insight, I'm probably paying RM1k per month to the bank. Petrol usage will drop, but is it worth it? I like my Myvi's back seat, and even the boot space when seats are folded.

Any input? Please?
*
I would say if u hardly drive long distance, a hybrid car wont save u much.
I drive more than 100km a day.

My previous Civic EK FC cost me RM0.17/km, now Insight FC cost me average of RM0.09/km.
You do the math.

Well, I'm mostly travelling from Penang to KL, maybe twice a month. In Penang, I drive bout 7kms to my work, plus minus, at most 20 kms a day...

Worth to pay more? Or like ongdennis said, save that extra RM500...?
*
if ur Myvi is not giving you any problems such as repair on the wear and tear parts, keep the Myvi.
Looking at ur driving distance to work and back home, hmm, i think its not worth it as u wont save much.

I sold my previous civic EK as it was already 15years old and giving me many problems.

yes, i experienced it last week after 2hours terrible jam. totally went flat.
The RPM went up on its own to recharge the battery, up to about 3k rpm. gave me a shocked when that happened.

Insighter Bros,

Has anyone encounter this?

Yesterday, while driving, suddenly the alarm triggered with the hazard light triggered for no reason. I stopped aside and turn off the engine and restart and the alarm continuously buzzing for about 10sec and then went off.

Then I opened and closed all the doors and then start the engine again and the alarm went off. So far til this morning, everything seems normal but the incident yesterday worried me.

anyone faced this b4?

I don't know how to describe this:

Car jerking issue:looks like it happens during low fuel before alert appears. As usual when I step on accelerator lightly but not much acceleration like usual, gotta step harder and hold for 1-2 seconds then only it speeds up.

It gives me a feel like the car is going to sleep soon.
*
im facing the same issue now.
it happen quite frequent lately with the engine slow response and needed hard acceleration to get the car moving. the jerking issue is getting worse now, even my colleague in my ride thought i did it in purpose, car will jerk while braking.
my insight is hitting 25k km. i hope this Insight will proof those hybrid haters wrong...haha

if this continue, I will sell this insight and get a civic or camry.

just to share.
sent my ride for 20k km service and checked on the engine jerk and unstable acceleration issue.

i was told to change air filter, reset CVT and service regularly (WHICH I DID).
anyway, I have no choice but to use FULLY Syn engine oil as the SemiSyn-Oil is out of stocks!!

well, I must say, my IN2 is now MUCH nicer to cruise around, smoother engine (which originally already very smooth), battery easily fully charged, higher FC, now i can cruise for 820km for 30L petrol. i could feel that the engine is much much more responsive than before now.

anyway, high price to pay for the engine oil and total 20k km service. cost me RM513!!

30L=820km?.....come on, be serious........
i have been cruising IN2 more than 22k km and i am pretty sure the milleage that i am reporting here.
just ignore my statement if u dun find it informative.

here's some of the googled info on resetting CVT for Freed and FIT; which I believe it is applicable to Insight as well.
http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/1st-generat...-resetting.html
http://hfsg.friendhood.net/t150-resetting-of-cvt

HC reset my ride CVT as I complaint on the power slagging and poor engine response.
The reset section took them about 30minutes.

I noticed after the CVT reset, I can feel smoother drive. Less jerking and the battery seem easily charged.

yes, absolutely 2nd that.
no longer feel the slagging and jerking issue after reset the CVT.
totally recommend to those bros who are facing these problems now.
