QUOTE(ongdennis @ Nov 16 2011, 11:59 AM) any reason? Actually is not issue or no issue... It is that it doesn't affect any more than 1% on Honda vehicles which implements MAF sensor and MAP sensor... If your intake manifold and throttle body is still stock, the is no air velocity changes... Therefore no gain (or negligible gain if you will)... And the oil from filter will pretty much clog up the throttle body in long term...my kelisa been using it for 4 years+ without any issue and my mazda lantis also using it (open pod some more) for many years. the only one i dont like is HKS dry type that being use on my B8 because the sponge will slowly break into small pieces n suck into the engine. for me the stock filter really overprice >.< before knowning the price i was plan to change it every 20k km but now seem like cant already. Yes, stock filter overpriced... But it is much much more cheaper if you buy outside at official stockist... If really wanted to go for drop in, get some others that only need washing but not oiling... Then that will save you money on replacing, while negating the oil effect... And for vehicles like Insight, the MAF sensor is pretty much important for the accurate mixing of optimum AFR. |

For the battery drain problem in heavy jam, it is because you still running your audio system and etc etc... One thing to remember, your hybrid doesn't come with alternator as normal car would, the IMA motor itself acts as alternator to charge your 12v... There for, in heavy jam it is difficult for the IMA motor to charge the 12v since you are not moving anywhere enough for the IMA motor to do enough charging, moreover ECON mode will shut off engine. You guys know for ordinary car, when the engine is running then the alternator runs together to provide alternate current to all your accessories right? While the same time charge the 12v. Therefore, during such situation, turn off ECON so that engine won't stop and the your accessory will source power from 12v instead of IMA battery. Of it the IMA battery already low, just do your manual charging by revving.

QUOTE(iTrump @ Nov 17 2011, 12:30 PM) Yes, no panic no problem.. Just turn off ECON, or if you find it low already when you realize just do manual charging, it will rise back very fast, faster than you can imagine. That's why like on CRZ, they put on Sport mode in heavy jam instead. |

QUOTE(cbinn @ Nov 26 2011, 09:34 PM) I am using 4300k HID. But then isn't that is too much work? But yes, please get proper 4300K and not those chapalang 4300K, you will end up getting like 6000K pure white. It is much brighter than stock halogen bulb. Colour is much whiter, i think stock halogen is around 3300k. But it is not white till blue. If you want white till blue then must be 6500k and above. Insight is ok to use hid because of the projector lens, so the beam does not stray all over the place like those hid installed on reflective headlamps. And with 4300k which is not too white or blue, you have much lesser chance getting into trouble during roadblock. I will uninstall the hid set and revert back to stock halogen each time i going to service to avoid excuse to void warranty, just in case. |

Yes, I know all about HID... And becareful of the ballast too..
White is good, but can't penetrate fog as you well mentioned, therefore I actually using 3000K HID for foglamp to compensate, it did go very well in rain. |
