Bro STC, did you mean you can actually change the auto-lock timer ? I have tried numerous times for that but it won't work and found out that is not for our model in M'sia from others. Would u mind to share how u did it and also the speedo color?
*
Turn your ignition key to II on. Turn press info and down. Sometimes, press rel/sel button and down. You will see few functions there.

Bro STC, is your IN2 is M'sia model? or u live in elsewhere? i've got confirmation from some LYN member says ours are not able for auto-lock function and light change mode. >.<

btw u meant ignition key to II on, mean accessory position? am really keen on the auto-lock and light change thingy tongue.gif
*
The auto lock function is for the timer of 30 sec for the car to relock if you fail to open any doors after you disarm the alarm . Yes, accessories mode II ON. I bought mine in Malaysia. I didnt change the light mode because wasnt really sure what they do. Just play with it. There's nothing you can do wrong by resetting a few things except for the A and B mileage.

If I remember correctly, you cannot burn your gearbox by driving S mode. There is an inbuilt limiter which will cut off if you hit the limit. Insight is fully computerized and controls the engine and the battery for safety and it is hard for us to abuse it.

oooo ic .. i tot its the auto-lock upon driving starts. yeah i saw those 2 function. i set the auto-lock off cos afraid 1 day i left my key in dere n it self locked lolx....
*
My friend, I think you should enable the autolock function. the autolock function only works if you meet the followings:_

1) You have armed the car using your remote.

2) You unlock/unarmed the car using the remote but you did not open the doors within 30 seconds.

The car will relock and armed. It is very useful function in case you accidently press unlock button but you have no intention to open the car. There is no way you could lock the keys inside accidently with that function. The problem with Insight is the alarm got no sound when you open or close so that function helps to avoid unintentional unlocking.

Thanks for sharing. Noob me.. after driving the car for 6 months only come to know this function. There are few occasion that the car autolock, i thought that the alarm must be having problem ! lol.

Come to think about it.. the autolock shall also able to lock the car when the engine is on? Like turn on engine, then 30 sec it auto lock... but why this is not happening? Or there must be a way to enable it ? Any suggestion?
*
Friend, the auto lock function works only after you have activated the alarm. So no way the scenario as described by you will happen. Do you know that your car doors won't lock if any one of doors or hatch not shut properly. When everything is shut properly when you activate the alarm, the lights flash three times quietly. If the door is not shut properly the lights flash three times but you will hear a faint beep with it which is also thrice but you could hardly hear them in traffic.

Always, double check the door is shut after pressing the remote because the doors remain unlocked if it is not shut properly. All of them remain unlocked. I am wondering why the the alarm doesn't go off. But that how it was designed.

i got 2.63% from PBB. i heard Affin bank offer the lowest. but i find it hard for repayment cos less branches.
*
I got 2.58 from Maybank 6 years but I settled for 2.6 from Affin.

The trick is don't pay the down payment but ask them to arrange for the lowest interest plus all the freebies. Approach several dealers. Once a bank process your loan application all the other banks can see and they will compete. After bank confirms make sure that is without life premium which is like MRT on housing loan. You don't need that (extra Rm850). After everything confirmed only than you pay the down payment after having the offer letter from bank or dealer 's confirmation in writing.

p/s: I actually felt that this car has more power with aircond off, just hit the pedal, it will go...

You can't go beyond 180km/h because the engine will cut off. But bravo bro, you just busted the myth Hybrid got no power. The FC also not sooooo bad. Read somewhere the acond takes off 4 percent of the engine power.

When you reach 180km/h. The engine cuts in and out due to the Limiter set by the car computer. See page 332 of the manual.

Ok, important information to all about WARRANTY.

At page 360 of the manual "HOWEVER, SERVICE AT A DEALER IS NOT MANDATORY TO KEEP YOUR WARRANTIES IN EFFECT"

At page 363, service under severe condition is for every 5000KM or 6 MONTHS.

HM must be hating me.

So meaning to say that by showing this to the SC, we shall able to have longer service interval? hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Need to change to fully synthetic oil for if opt for 10k intervals service?
*
It was the local workshops tricks to sell fully synthetic oil. Fully synthetic oil not necessarily would last longer. It is simply means the viscosity is more consistent under extreme conditions. It is always better to change oil more frequently than using synthetic.

I have monitorEd my driving condition and the temperature and our cars generally fall under extreme condition. So no matter what we need to change oil every 5000km. Castrol website is a good place to pick few pointers on engine oil.

And don't show the warranty part to the SC, otherwise they may sabo your car. Just maintain the service at 5000km or 6 months. If you service outside keep a full record and follow as stated in the manual. Make sure the workshop is a member of local motor association or an insurance company. In that case Honda cannot claim incompetent service by outsider. In case of warranty dispute, HM cannot claim warranty void.

I can't give the accurate numbers but I believe 84kmh gives you the best FC. Btw, what,s your average speed? My city driving is around 28kmh only!

Eh? I tot from the Honda website stated 4th service is RM181.50?? anyhow since we service every 5k, dun waste money on semi-syn oil

http://www.honda.com.my/insight/extra/maintenance/
*
I think he paid extra for alignment and balancing. But you right! We don't need syn oil. The manual recommend 0W-20
detergent oil displaying the API Certification Seal.

Your SC allow you to use mineral oil? My SC told me the the quote is with semi -sync oil, all insight use semi sync by default.
*
Bring the manual along. There is no such thing as must use semi so long it meets the minimum recommendation of the manufacturer.

I find the mirror is too light. Added some blu-tack at the back and the vibration reduced. Will ask SC to solve it because it affects driving safety. Who knows they might recall all insights for replacement of the mirror provided many people make complaint.

Btw, my car just completed the first stage of Econ mode but straight jumped to second mode that is from 10 leaves to 20 leaves after 2592km. It didn't go through stages like adding 11, 12 and so on. Is it normal? However, I can't see any level in the second stage bar.

Wow, you complete your first stage with only 2.5k mileage? You must be one good 'eco driver' smile.gif Congrats!
*
Actually I got the first 10leaves much much earlier but the bar was filling up slowly and waited to see my first trophy. But it jumped straight to 20 leaves. I didnt even see the trophy. It is bit dissapointing because I wanted to show my children.

Eco driver? I am not really a slow driver but I time well and hardly use hard braking. If you time your driving to avoid unnecessay braking and accelaration you can achieve more leaves easily. Also I noticed that sticking to green all the time is not necessarily the most economical on FC.

Bro, how did you do that? Roll down all thw way from Genting? Hehehehehe...

Ok on serious note, I am not sure if the indicator is 100% accurate. In Kl driving I get about 620KM for RM55 with another 100 plus km to go.

Today, I was trying my best to go above 25km/l and it just refuse to go up easily but once I reach Sg besi High way and MRR2 I drove like normal cars with many blue speedo but it quickly reach 25.4KM/l. Maybe, quick accelaration and go easy on the gsd pedal saves more fuel than gradual acceleration. I read something to the same effect in some hypermiling article.

Here is my screen for the three stops.
