For me to get this S2,  I have a long story to tell.

I went to KLCC Maxis Center 3 times, with the confirmation from the customer service support that KLCC got the stock, but end up empty hand back home.
So  I have learn the lesson, NEVER TRUST Maxis customer service support information for the handphone availability!  So you have to try your luck to walk-in to the Maxis Center!  Hopefully, not endup like me.

But on the other hand, I feel Digi Service center is much better, I left my contact number to them 2 time at the Gardens, and they did call me to inform that was stock availability in the service center.

Then I ended up to buy S2 from digi roadshow at LYP cause got free gift -Samsung bluetooth.

Cheers!
*
It's not a suprise that u get a wrong info from them .... Customer service normally knows when the stock will arrive . How many units arrived , how many units sold or reserved , stock got delayed , they do not know as its none of their concern since they r not doing the sales . Put it this way , how many MAXIS center and agents all across Msia , how do u expect them to keep track of every one . . . Sometimes , they even get the info late so best is walk in directly or call that center directly , not the customer service support

back in v11, I recall a few owners who said they wiped their phones daily. feeling embarrassed, I decided to also clean my phone. even used liquid soap and damp tissue to wipe the screen (with sp).

shortly after that, I needed to send a message. that's when I realized... it's near impossible to swype on a SQUEAKY CLEAN screen...  blush.gif
*
I prefer using Zippo lighter fluid to clean the screen ......

No , I am serious ...... Alot of hp shops clean your hp screen with it b4 applying SP . Its good coz it evaporate easily and clean off the oil . Will it harm your coating on the ori screen , I dunno but not so harmful on a SP . Works better than those slimy stuff , forgot the name rclxub.gif

Oddly my SME phone supposed to have 2 years warranty but i just checked by sending PC<space>IMEI to 62002, and it states I have only 1 year warranty.

Hmmmmmm. Any idea how I should go about sorting this out?
*
SME sets come with 1 year warranty only .... ONLY purchase from SEP entitle u for a 2 years warranty ... Initially , prices is the same for both as SEP is selling at RRP . Now , SME sets are going for least than 2k yet SEP is still selling at RRP price with a little free gift maybe . Check out your warranty card in your hp 2 understand more

What are the chances of Samsung releasing a new S2 in da coming months? Rumours say that it would be a LTE version. Mostly like aiming at us market. HTC vigor also. Arggg should I get sgs2 nw ? Lol
*
There will always be new handphones being released every now and then . By the time Samsung comes out with LTE , maybe its time for Nexus Prime . At the rate of waiting for the next " best " hp , u will still be using what u r using now , 5 years down the road ...... Morning icon_rolleyes.gif

hmmm I think if yours is Maxis set then the warranty should be from Maxis ... anythign can throw back to them like how I did the iPhone .. my S2 is from normal shop
*
iPhone is different .... iPhone is for Telco only which means nobody beside Telco can sell it ..... Even those units u purchased from shop , they r not from Apple directly , they are either from Celcom , Maxis or Digi or even AP set from other telco like Singtel , AT&T , etc ......... SGSII is from SME so best u throw back to Samsung Malaysia for a faster service

Guys (and uncle benny), the above just happened to me again today  vmad.gif !!!! @#$#@%#^#!

This time I was in the cinema. Middle of movie, checked my phone, again the above happened with a missed call. Stupid weird 'bootlooping', touchscreen unresponsive at the Enter PIN page..............so i got home and tried to narrow down the damn problem.

It seems that there is a problem with missing calls on my phone (not sure if the problem is just on my phone or not). I restored using CWM and tried to test it as how I had been using it before the damn thing happened again. It's confirmed that everytime I missed a call when the phone is idle, the damn 'bootloop' happens, and there is no way to recover it, remove battery, restart phone. Had to restore/reflash the phone.

I'm on KH3 firmware from samfirmware.com and I dont remember this problem present on previous firmwares.

Just posting it here in case it happens to someone. Damn it , still a bit pissed off.  vmad.gif

Edit:- 2.24am - Reflashed to KH1 firmware. Problem solved, missed calls doesnt 'bootloop' the phone anymore.
Edit: - 3.01am - Reflashed to KH3 firmware to try again. KNN  mad.gif , as soon as a missed call comes in, the damn 'bootloop' happens again. Note: ALL SYSTEM APPS AND DATA restored using titanium backup on both KH1 and KH3.
*
In that case , stay away from KH3 until u can figure out the problem or u can try wiping everything clean , install KH3 and try it . DONT use TB yet ... If there is no bootloop when u get a missed call , means some apps u have is causing it .... Then try it again after restoring your DATA thru TB . If it happens , means 1 of your DATA is corrupted . Do it 1 step at a time . It's time consuming but at least u get the answer . . . TB is a bit*h at times

If the PC system is anything close, quad-core only adds heat and consumes more power. Apps are not even optimised for dual core yet, what say quad?

Btw, even the supposedly Tegra optimised Riptide GP ran smoothly with CPU capped at 800mHz on my S2.
*
+1 . . . . Regardless of how many cores they r going to use in the phone , 1 thing remains unchanged . Batteries . Y cant they research more on giving us consumers a longer lasting battery . I will b more than willing to stick to a dual core if it can last for a week on normal usage than uses a quad core than hardly last a day
