Prices differ when they have promotion. Go check yourself if you have the time. Otherwise, just buy from any one of them since the difference is just a few Ringgit.

Some hedgies like to do that. Sometimes, they poop in them too.

I have found that none of my 5 hedgehogs likes toys, so I assume most hedgies don't care about them. Therefore, don't bother buying anymore toys.

Just buy a new food and water bowl that cannot be flipped over. I use a plate to put their food and bought a water bowl with a large base (used for small dogs, but it does the job) from Pet Lovers Centre for just RM4 each.

Hi everyone!

New hedgie owner here. Her name is Needles aka Nida or Nid. Haha. I've gotten her 5 days ago.

She's still not used to me and I'm trying to get her to be more friendly with me. When I try to hold her up, she instantly sticks one foot out and walks off haha.

Anyways, I'd like to know how I can get a pet permit or passport for her. I want to take her travelling and would love to bring her back to my hometown once my studies are done here (yes, I'm not local).

If anyone could tell me, I'd appreciate it!

I've had this problem with my hedgehogs before and its usually a sign of one of these two:

Your hedgie may not have a sufficient hide and sometimes flip the bowl and hide under them. To solve this, provide them with more than one hide. Make sure the hide is not to big for them because they like to snuggle inside the hide.

Or your hedgie may be flipping the bowl because she is hungry and still looking for food under the bowl. Solve this by providing more food but make sure your hedgie don't get to obese. Hope this helps smile.gif

You have to get in touch with the Department of Veterinary Services - www.dvs.gov.my

Their website is not that helpful but you can get their number and call them around 9 - 12 noon. Its quite hard to get them after lunch.

I wouldn't advise for you (or anyone) to buy a pet from a pet shop. Try looking for hedgehog breeders in the Pet Store section here.
These breeders have the proper knowledge on taking care of hedgehogs, unlike most pet shop workers.
You can be sure that you're getting a healthy and happy pet, which is definitely important. smile.gif

I hope your brother can take good care of a pet hedgehog. smile.gif
