What industry are you working in?

Mechanical engineering companies in singapore, mainly the SME's employ a large number of indians, bangla ,china and burmese since their cheap, they dont usually fight back and they are semi-skilled workers.

I prefer to work with filipinos since their easy going and they dont really have inflated ego's like some singaporeans and malaysians do. Plus some of my black ops kaki are pinoys.

Ok, i am abit exaggerate, i don't hate them all but i hate most of them. To me, they are good at back stabbing people. Even the smallest problem, they will report to the manager behind people's back.

Heck, future jobs seekers got affected by those "unskilled workers" attitudes. That ain't fair

hey there, i am from sarawak too, now working in singapore. During my job hunt, i do feel that east malaysians are having hard time getting a job in singapore.

Hey. You just recently secured a job or have been working there for a long time?

BTW, how long it took you to find a job there? Where did you stay during your job hunt?
*
I just work for like 2 years. But for tat 2 years, it is tough for me to get a job. Unlike west Malaysia, u can send resume from west malaysia then come singapore for interview. But for me, no matter how much resume i send out from east malaysia, i just dont get a reply until i decide to come to singapore to actually look for job there.

I see. So when you finally went to SG, how long it took you to get a job? My bro worked in SG before and he also went there to find a job. I'm worry if I go there next year but can't find a job.
Thanks for the tips but what I should write about the family history in my resume? Do you think Malaysian Chinese has better opportunity to get a job in SG?
*
it took me 2 months just to land on a job. Because my friend advice me to go singapore hunt for job rather than sending resume from sarawak.

Also, for sure Malaysian chinese will have a better opportunity to get a job. smile.gif

I think 2 months sound like fine as long as finally secured a job. Come to think of it, maybe if we send resume from sarawak, the recruiters might assume it will waste their time because need to wait us to go there for interview. So they prefer those who stay in SG.
*
ya true. normally they will ask u for interview asap, they can't wait for that long just for u to arrive singapore then interview.

Looking at the MRT master plan....

Sometimes I think, if SG size is doubled, from 700km2 to 1,400km2, SG will be a 2nd Switzerland, or surpass Switzerland and perhaps GDP may worth more than Switzerland.

Unfortunately, SG has not enough land to develop, no land for exploitation, somehow or rather, SG will eventually lose its competitiveness.

No matter how SG utilise its space to transform wonders or even build the world largest underground office/theme-park/research centre/casino/MRT underground over another MRT underground/ u named it... all its developments will still be limited to its 700km2. Kesian...

I really hope Indonesia can sell a few inhabited islands to the SG government so that SG can reclaim more land for development to stay competitiveness.... but too bad, this not gonna happen I think...

HK at least still got dozens of mountains that can be used to reclaim land in the future without even depend on China to sell land to them, compare to SG which is a flat-flat island, a single Bukit Timah cant help much tho....

SG is like foreveralone country being sandwiched/squeezed between 2 Muslim countries and I wonder why so many Malaysian Chinese out there still like to bash SG especially in /K/ despite they themselves living in a Muslim country got bullied/sidelined by our current gomen.
*
Singapore is expanding, they are actually landfilling the sea. If u watch how jurong island looks like 10 years ago and now. There is a huge diff.

hi,

would like to know from those who travel from KL to Singapore frequently.

Am going down to Singapore for interview soon, but I'm travelling via bus that arrives at Singapore around 5am in the morning while my interview is at 10am.

Is there any place I can rest once I reach Singapore?

thanks in advance.

Great site, really helps. Should be up to date.
Thanks a bunch.
based on what I see on the map, yes it is far. Don't think I'll be going there. Maybe just find 24hrs Starbucks/McD.
Is free public WiFi available in most area of Singapore? I think I would really need to find my way via Internet.

so when is ur interview?

hmm.. i am kind of wanting to go australia to work, mainly perth or melbourne as i got many friends there. The reason i choose to go there is because of the quality of life that i can get rather than i keep working in SG from day to night like a lifeless zombie.
