where got elite? with 6-7 years exp, you should already be in at least a management equivalent role, right?

as a manager-level role wouldn't you naturally be looking at at least sgd 5-7k?

unless if you're talking about coming into SG as just an executive-level staff, then yes I'd agree that 3-4k would be a ... reasonable amount.

not necessary manager, but managerial-level lah dei ... example the line i'm in there are a lot of technical non-managers that are the grade-equivalent of senior managers, and pulling in 5-digit salary.

putting aside ranking, you already work 1-2 years here, right? are you telling me that you are so lacking in ambition that within the next 5 years you won't be earning at least 6-7k?

2 possibilities:

1. you *think* you're not inferior but your bosses think otherwise,

or,

2. just bad luck. your bosses no matter what would have forced one of you three guys to take unpaid leave and you were the unlucky one who was chosen randomly.

BTW one of my friends just got laid off from RIM. Thing about voice activation is that even a 10-20% fail rate on recognizing what you're saying can become irritating/annoying enough to make you go 'fark this.'
