Hi,

I am looking to hire a maid, probably Cambodian or Indonesian.
Am really scared of approaching maid agencies on my own or from ad as have had bad previous experience dealing with some.

Can someone recommend a good and affordable maid agency?

And also, if you could give your opinions on whether Cambodian or Indonesian maids are better, in your opinion.
I will need the maid to do mostly household chores, but also occassionally take care of my babies when my in laws are busy preparing dinner or so...

Thanks.

Philipino maids are more expensive, and more demanding too.
I have one Indonesian maid now, but her term is up and we are sending her back.

Cambodians are probably more submissive, and cheaper.

i have experienced cambodian, indonesian, thai and philiphino maids. the best is cambodian , besides their eating habits, their actually the best. indonesian maids nowdays are just getting worst.

I don't think u can get an indonesian maid now. They are in high demand and the agencies that have jalan to get them will raise their prices.

My maid agency is good... google "nation maid agency".

Some popular bloggers use their service. thats how i got the recommendation.

But my friend just call them and says they got no indonesian. Other maids yes, profile on website.

What nationality is your current maid?
Am considering between hiring a housemaid, or sending my baby to daycares.
The charges are around that amount per month for both.

Nowadays, there is no such thing as affordable maids. Most of the countries do not have maids but it seem like a common here. Be prepared to pay RM10 - 12k for the maid and agency fee. Of course, this includes the maid initial 6 or 6 and 1/2 months pay. Which means, for the first 6 months pay, you dont need to pay her salary because already included in the initial fee.

There is also no good maid, to find one is like to find the highest class diamond in the mines. Needle in a haystack. You have to be watchful and never to trust them with you children alone. Though they may not harm your children but their hands are dirty as that is how they have lived, in poverty - else dont have to come Malaysia become maid. The good ones goes to countries that pay them more like Hong Kong, Middle East, etc.

Depending on your location, you may and may not get any maids now but if you are from Klang, you may visit AP Sentosa Maid Agency in Bandar Bukit Raja. They are ok but not the best. There is another in Bandar Bukit Tinggi II, forgot the name but is better.

From personal experience, we have had very good Indonesian maids. They were really kind and top of maid class many years before but over the years, those that are new are either lazy or crazy. We had one that strip totally naked and slept in the couch middle of the night saying it was due to heat. COMPLETELY NAKED, we sent her off.

Today, we prefer Cambodian because they dont lie as much and they dont steal as much. Indonesia is one of the earlier countries, along with Philliphines that produces maids for better Asian countries, so over the years, their people get more big headed as opposed to Cambodia which is fairly new, possibly less than 10 years of maid supply experiences.

Troublesome but after a few months, things got better. Only a little patience is required when working with these people and as usual money is motivation. You can always tell her that if her work is incomplete or done improperly, you will deduct her salary. Things get better overtime unless you have some fiery hot temper or something.

I think a lot of agencies are bringing in tourists who wish to work as maids. The Indon will travel from anywhere to Jakarta, and then boat to Batam, come in via Singapore and the agencies here will hook them up with permit to work as maid.

Remember, Indonesia govt block but Malaysia govt still open. This is alternative route for them.

yup thats right but they will be coming in by mid Feb or early Mar, but its crazy that agencies hike up their fee till RM12k, ridiculous. I have found one, dealing with Indon christian maids, agents fee RM8500, salary RM550-850, depends on working experience, 6mths salary deduction. seems on I suppose.

Hi felixwang,

The company name is AP Kenanga at BBT2, near the 7-11 convenient store. It's a few shops away but on the 1st floor. We have only engaged their service in December 2011.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Did they arrange for the Indonesian maid to come here? Or you found her and ask her to come here on a tourist visa then get the agency to handle the work permit?

My Indonesian maid is going back soon and I'm looking for a new one. My current maid agency says that they only have Filipino and Vietnamese maids, as government don't allow Indonesians and Cambodians now.

They arranged for it, not me. I just went to the agency and saw some options, pick one. That's it.

Meanwhile, one of our Cambodian maid also going back next month. We are also looking for one.

The information I received is that, next month onwards, Indon can come in but not Cambodian.

Salary is RM700 per month
Each Sunday is a free day but if you required her to work means RM27 per day.
RM27 x 4 sundays = RM108
+ 700
= RM808 per month.

Very expensive now.

I see. Maybe I'll go over and see if they still does such procedures. Can you PM me their office number? Would really appreciate that. smile.gif

Yea I also heard that by April, we will be able to hire Indonesian maid. Cambodian haven't heard anything yet.

I'm not very concern about the price since my household will need a maid one way or another. Of course cheaper better.

Anyone have a good solution to filter maid agencies and maids?

Thanks.

BTW, is there any part time maid that I can hire? Maybe come 3 times a week and do laundry, wash toilets and others, mop floor and so on. Prefer to hire these maid "directly". Anyone have contact?

If your PH maid giving problems post warranty, then it's a big loss for you because if she leave, you lose all the agency fees you've paid. I think try your best to retain her and send her for counselling. I have a maid who is like that too but just have to bear with it.

Part time maid really depends on your location - ask around your neighbours to see if there's any. Usually it's not that hard to find.

Hi, is anyone know what to do if the maid has finish her 2 years contract and wanted to continue service?
This is Cambodian maid, i heard that currently there is no longer Cambodian maid allowed to come in Malaysia, and restricted by the Cambodian government.
If she want to go back to holiday then come back again to service for us? we can buy air tickket for her no problem, if all these have to go through agent or how?

Hi
Urgently looking for temporary live-in maid for 2-3 months period.
Any recommendation of which maid agency to go for?
And any idea what is the rate?
Just called up one that charges RM2,500 per month for 3 months period. Reasonable?

Thanks.

after over 10 years using maid and using various agents (big company, small company, self company and so on). I can say there are NO good maids agency. All are operating with hanky panky style of business and running using all the nook and cranny of immigration law.

You got money, they nice to you. Once you paid them..when got problem 99% don't bother with you anymore. Just get one that from a reputable company which is less likely to cheat or irresponsible.

Hi everyone. I've been reading your posts, and I agree that there are a lot of bad and good experiences out there regarding maid agencies. I'm also in the midst of looking for a maid to look after the house hold chores to spare my ageing parents from doing them. I think it'll be good if we could actually get feedback on which agencies to look out for if they provide bad services. Those with good services should be recommended, and if others can verify that the agency is good, then we will be able to help one another as well.

I would also prefer Filipinos or Indonesian (as communication is easier), but as we're a chinese family, we prefer non-muslim domestic helpers as we have dogs, and also would be handling pork in our meals.

So,thanks for the previous recommendations, but can anyone else give feedback on their experiences with these agencies? Would appreciate it very much..Maybe you can state the name of agency, as well as experience and the rough price that you paid for the handling of the domestic helper? We as consumers do deserve to know if certain agencies are irresponsible or charging exorbitant fees. If we can compare and help each other, we would be able to give business to the deserving agencies.. afterall, who would want to entrust their children or families to the hands of incapable or dubious domestic helpers right? smile.gif

It depends on your area and your requirement of the part time maid. Do you want an Indon, Pinoy or Sri Lankan?

I use a regular part time cleaning service for the past two years. Some people don't mind different cleaners to come every week. But I will only use the same cleaner to clean my house once a week for 4 hours. With the same cleaner, you don't have to brief them again and again on how to clean and what areas to clean. However if the same cleaner is on leave or MC, you will be without cleaner for the week.

If you are within Desa Park City, Kepong, Manjalara, Kepong, Bdr Sri Damansara and Sg Buloh, I can PM the number of cleaning company to you.

Hi everyone,
I understand that nowadays lots of agency just want to make quick profit, promise this and that but in the end is different story. It cause customer lost their confidence on agency companies and will not hire a ANY housemaid anymore.

Last time my parents hired a Indo maid at Puchong but the services is not what we expected, the maid just work for a week then disappear. We made a police report and go to that company, they told us nothing they can do because of the passport also took away by the maid. I feel very upset & regret due to we not see clearly about the TERMS & CONDITIONS.

My auntie applied a Indo housemaid at Kuchai Lama - Agensi Pekerjaan Venture Provision Sdn Bhd, the package price is reasonable and the service they giving is great. Because of last time experience, I told my auntie to look CACEFULLY about the T&C. The sales staff are kind and patience, explain one by one to us.

The Indo maid is doing a great job in our house. Even the sales is done, but they also will follow up see whether customer facing any issue. We are happy and satisfy the services.

Any general enquiries can contact 03-79842688.

The advertised MaidWizard is not a professional maids agency. Their favourite word is "we are dealing with people". Yes, we are people dealing with alience like them. They are alience. This guy don't know to talk to customer. He will ask "which jargon world are you from?" because he is from another space.

This agency will drag your application process. Give you false hope that the helper will arrive on certain date which they know they cant comply with it. They will not update you on the delay until 1day before the expected day, even then, you should call to get an update full of disappointment that there is further delay.

They are proud to say that, they have advertised in Sri Lankan TV station about their agency. Then, will tell you that they only make RM800.00 profit. Are they expecting us to pay for their advertising fee.

They are NOT Malaysians, or, do not know Malaysia well. They are not aware of day care (Taska), immigration processes, our government operating procedures, online availability of immigration status checks. They are well verse with Sri Lankan procedures and people.

They impose such high price, with nice words that they are very professional and licensed agency. Think, why this professional were not provided with a licence to have their own website in Malaysia. Why this license agency do not know the timeline of the immigration.

My advice, do check your immigration application online. Enter your ic number to know your application status. Our immigration strictly adere to the timeline provided in their website. This agency will not agree with it. They keep blaming our immigration for the delay. Whereas, we are monitoring our status online.

Thanks.

Don’t every take maids from this thuggish agent – Agensi Pekerjaan PMA. Supplied me with an incompetent maid from day 1 with mental health issue & severe absent-mindedness with no prior housemaid experience at all, contrary to maid’s biodata – clearly a misrepresentation. Before my tribunal hearing, received annoymous threatening calls from strangers & upon court award, the lady boss threatened to quash the award by bringing to the high court. A real thug!

Yup, they are legit. Had a great maid that has returned to the Phillippines now and we wonder if we can ever get such a good maid in the future (hopeful we will). Mr Andrew Cheng is a patient man who will answer your questions on the phone and if there are anything wrong or disputes between boss and maid you can bring it to him and he will video tape the statement from the maid, etc. One word - accountable. Of course a good agency does not guarantee that the maid is good because they are depending on the maid being interviewed on the video being able to promise this and that but then changed their mind or take back their words which is not within the agency's control.

Non-compliance with tribunal award by maid agency

I have been locked in a disagreement with PMA maid agency in Puchong for not fulfilling their obligations. I requested for refund from the agency but failed. After went through hard time attempting to get back my money, I found my last hope – consumer tribunal.

My case was set to be heard at the tribunal on 15 October 2014. The tribunal President awarded me a refund to be paid by the maid agency within 14 days or the maid agency will face criminal charges under Section 117(1) APP 1999!!

But unfortunately, the maid agency refused to refund after 14 days. I made a complain of non-compliance with the award to the Enforcement Division, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism on 30 October 2014.

On 29 January 2015, my lawyer served the maid agency a Notice 218 which they have to pay the refund within 21 days. As until today 1st March 2015, I still have not get back my hard-earned money yet!!

I want JUSTICE!!! Please tell me where can I find it……… Please help...

Unfortunately, I engaged them in November 2014 and yet I still haven't get my maid at this moment.

At first, they were giving the reason that 2.5-3 months is the normal processing time until the maid actually arrive in malaysia.

Then, I was told that the maid I selected didn't show up and she lives in outskirts area which is very difficult for communication.

Now, the reason is that it's partner agency in Philippine is having issue to renew it's license.

S218 is a winding up petition which enables you to as the name implies "wind up" the company and sieze all the companies unencumbered assets.

Since you have a Lawyer, what does your Lawyer have to say.

Have you checked with the Enforcement Division, Ministry of Domestic Trade as to what action the Ministry can do.

Have you tried forwarding a complaint to the Home Ministry, believe Maid Agency License requres Home Ministry approval alsoo

Agensi Pekerjaan PMA, Penang HQ & branches in Alor Setar, Puchong & Cheras has committed criminal offense of not abiding in MORE THAN ONE award handed down by the Tribunal Court.

I had my court hearing with PMA Penang on 4th September 2014. Thanks to social media, I came to know of a lady in the same dilemma as me. In both hearings, the judge has awarded us monetary refund due to misrepresentation & incompetent maids who ran away just weeks into their employment.

PMA has not only defied the 14 days deadline to pay the award but has ignored appointments fixed by the Penang's Ministry of Trade & Consumerism enforcement officers to investigate their non-compliance. This has been dragging on in the past 6 months.

We are at our wits end. To date, we have served PMA through our lawyer the Notice 218 which gives them a 21 days deadline. They blatantly ignored this too!!

I am looking to get a Cambodia or other maids (non-muslim only) to take care of my mother. Reading this forum, and from experiences of my friends. So far it has all been dissapointment or a rip-off at worst.

Really need some feedback on any good experience of any agencies you have used b4.

Thank you.

i would like to advise to avoid this agency, Jobs C&N at all cost. Similar experience to our fellow member here, kiori they have delayed our application for more than 6 months citing the same reason.

They are totally not professional at all. After comparing notes, we found out that the agency owner, andrew cheng is not being honest all at all. Some of the information given by him doesnt even tally with what he had said.

Before paying deposit, he was all friendly and approachable but after you have paid deposit, attitude was all different.

better think twice before you engage him for your maid application service.

royle in this thread also facing the same problems as far as i know.

The last reason given to me was the maid didn't pass the medical checking. I requested for the report, but did not provide me after a week. Immediately I called for cancellation after the whole 8 months long of back and ford.

The refund was minus off 1,400++, which they claiming they have done THINGS and that the processing fee.

I requested the report even after I got my refund. Again, "promised and forget".

Got cheated by one e-job maid agency under YDS group.
Paid my deposit, they promised me one in 20-25 days.
Guess it was too good to be true. 2 months and still no maid huhu

And will ask for many unconsolidated payments.

It runs by MIC. Heard few got cheat. If you have time better do it yourself.

Thanks.

My sister&his husband plan to hire a maid. But due to donno what income problem or EPF problem. Then cannot use their name to hire.

They seek for my help as want to borrow my+my wife name to get the approval. Does this mean my name will be register as employer of the maid ? And will I need to bare with any responsible on the maid ?

Feel like all my personal data need to be summit up.

This post sums up my feelings perfectly!!

http://servishero.com/blog/why-is-hiring-a...l-so-stressful/

Recently discovered this company called ServisHero and it has been a godsend. They help you find a maid really easily using their phone app and their customer service was excellent as well. Do note that ServisHero is just the middle man that connects you to a maid service but I have been happy with the one they connected me to. Most importantly they have taken away the stress from hiring a maid!!!

I highly recommend using them smile.gif

Anyone know of a good agent that can supply indonesian maid?

Last time i got from this one indonesian agent that supply maid directly from indonesia but his hp number is no longer active. the maid that he supplied was good and reasonably priced just that he did not provide any permit.

but he did introduced me to an agent that can do permit since the maid entered using a social 30days visa. the visa that the agent got me was called journey performed visa i think. i really like the fact that i only had to pay the indonesian agent a small deposit and pay the total amount when he send the maid to my house. also u can reject the maid if u dont like when he sent to your house. i rejected 2 candidates.

so if anyone know of a good and reliable agent like this please pm me.

i called a few agencies but their prices are too high for me. plus u hv to pay a large deposit then after 20-30 days they will deliver that is if they keep their promises.

Hi,

My Indonesian maid wishes to take home leave in upcoming HariRaya. She wants to renew the permit with us which is due in May this year.
Please advise

1. what are the current procedures to prepare for her to fly home?

2. Are we the employer liable to pay for her airfare ? (she has been with us for 2 years)

3. Does employer need to pay bonus salary at the end of contract ?

4. We have fear that after all the fees to renew her permit, she does not come back. Anything we can do on this ?

Please help to advise. Many Thanks.

Hi,i need help here about my filipina maid contract renewal and i have few questions too. Q1: Should i need to renew my maid contract again for two yrs if my maid wish to extend? Becoz my agency asking me to do so. Q2: May i get any other agency to do so because of dissatisfaction with the price they charge for(my current agency really cut throat). I did check with another agency saying that once we come up with first 2 year contract, and no need to renew it anymore except the work permit only. But without a contract in my maid's hands, she cannot come back here,if she go back for holidays. Confused.. Please help. THANKS

I used ServisHero once recently. RM60 (after RM20 discount for new joiner) for a condo cleaning. It was good, they are actually just middle man.

Just received an email from them with promotion code : XMAS15 for Dec-2017.

Without promotion, i think the price is higher than market rate.

Hi

I have recently employed an Indonesian maid to help in household but my mother has now agreed to take care of my kids and do the deed.

PM me if you would like to take over the maid as current waiting period is long and we can negotiate to share the fees.

She is very good with housework etc.

Hi all, just to highlight.. i do not have a good maid agency to recommend but i have one hell of a maid agency NOT TO GO for.

DO NOT and NEVER EVER engage this agency called Jujur Jaya.

THis is what happened...
1. Hire an Indonesian maid from them at a cost of RM19k. Why so much you ask...? coz they gave a guarantee i.e. if the maid runs away, they replaces the maid for you, if you dont like the maid's attitude, they would do counselling with the maid 3x and if nothing changes, you get to change your maid for Free they claim.

2. So it sounded very reasonable and peace of mind right..? Maid's salary is for RM1k but you pay RM1.1k to the agency every month which the RM100 is for them to visit your house monthly to engage the agency and for your maid to call home.

3. 1 year into the engagement, this mad had not even sorted out the work permit for me! Chased and chased for the work permit to be sorted but Jujur Jaya kept giving all sort of excuses. Imagine, having a maid but you dont have a permit for her.

4. If you get caught by the Immigration, Jujur Jaya will walk free coz the maid is in your house.

4. Hopeless team of staff - Jujur Jaya got one simple rule for recruitment - you got to be an asshole to join them. Their staff are all rude and does not even bother to respond to your call when you have problem sorting out the work permit on your own.

Bottom line - if you're ever looking for a maid agency, NEVER EVER hire Jujur Jaya. If it is not because I stay at Kota Kemuning which they operate as well, i would not have bother hiring them.

Interestingly, I am research about hiring a maid. So, I may be able to answer this.

1. The maid is a free person, she can leave whenever she want.

2. Yes. The maid expect to eat the salary as Nett salary. It's the same expectation if you are an expat hiring a maid in Jakarta. The agreed salary is the Nett salary.

Source: https://www.quora.com/How-much-does-a-maid-cost-in-Indonesia

3. You are required to pay the 13th month bonus. This bonus is to be given (with sufficient leave) for her HariRaya.
Source: https://www.quora.com/How-much-does-a-maid-cost-in-Indonesia

4. Indonesian are very indirect people. They don't like to say no. If they don't like your employment, they will not come back. Again, it's their culture.

Hi ya, I am researching about maid (a.k.a. Foreign Domestic Helper (FDH)). So, here goes:

Q1: It's up to you to decide.
Q2: You can. However, do-it-yourself seem like a better choice.

The cost is RM635 to RM1441, according to some old sources from 8 years ago. So, things may have changed.

Breakdown:
Stamping at LHDN: RM50 - RM10 for "Personal Bond" form and RM40 for "Employment Agreement".
Persoanl Bond: RM250 (officially)(bank draft?)
Medical Checkup at FOMEMA approved clinics: ??? estimate RM200-RM300
FOMEMA registration: RM190 ??? unsure
The work permit inself: ??? No mention in the official website

Also:
1. Employment Agreement - It's contract between you and the maid. Any dispute is up to you to go sue the maid in an Indonesian court. You will need one because our gov demands one. What you put inside the Agreement is up to you and your maid to decide.

2. Your maid is a free person with a 'Visa with Reference to FDH'. She can come into Malaysia anytime as long as her passport and Visa is still valid. That's the theory. In reality, if the immigration officer is not convince that the maid is genuinely being employed, the office may ask the maid for all the relevant documents.

I engaged Philimore PJ before. The company is not bad but I had bad experience on the Consultant.
