I thinks it's a safe bet that a GTX560Ti would be able to handle mostly HIGH settings. We shall wait till the open beta to try then. tongue.gif

Call of Duty ad replaced by massive BF3 billboard in Germany

German ad agency Cross/Contact provides here a short video walkthrough of their recent work: replacing a Call of Duty Black Ops ad with a massive Battlefield 3 ad in the German city of Köln. According to the agency, the Battlefield 3 ad will be viewable to over 100,000 daily passers, and will remain visible over the next 90 days. We’ve previously seen large Battlefield 3 billboards across the UK, and now it appears that they’re spreading across the rest of Europe.

EA: Call of Duty will be over in 2-3 years
The ranting just continues tongue.gif

The mudslinging between EA and Activision seems to never end. While developers DICE and Infinity Ward have taken a more diplomatic approach, their parent companies are having none of that. Over the past few months, EA’s bosses, including the CEO, have attacked Activision, saying everything from Battlefield 3 is designed to take down Call of Duty, to EA CEO John Ricitiello famously saying that Call of Duty “will rot from the core” (one of our favorite quotes of the year).

Activision’s Eric Hirshberg recently complained that EA’s trash talking was bad for the industry, and EA’s response, from EA’s corporate communications’ Jeff Brown:

QUOTE
Welcome to the big leagues Eric — I know you’re new in the job but someone should have told you this is an competitive industry. You’ve got every reason to be nervous.

Last year Activision had a 90 share in the shooter category. This year, Battlefield 3 is going to take you down to 60 or 70. At that rate, you’ll be out of the category in 2-3 years. If you don’t believe me, go to the store and try to buy a copy of Guitar Hero or Tony Hawk.”

Honestly, we’ll go on a limb here and say that we prefer the mudslinging and trash talk instead of the PR-crafted statements where the companies talk a lot and say nothing. It makes it that much more interesting to hear and feel that EA and Activision are real competitors, and they’re gearing up to the biggest FPS battle ever.

A boxing match wouldn’t be the same without the pre-fight debacle that usually takes place, which serves to heighten the tension and anticipation to the fight.

How about mine?? I know its an outdated version and some of u might doubt my spec will work(Its a 2008 rig ><), but I wanna know some of your opinions will my spec run BF3 MP? Some say can run as long its low settings, some say it wont even support 16 players in the map(FTW) and the most wackiest answer is with directx11 is enuf adi(WTF). I can play BFBC2 SP with Advanced settings(All max) in 1680x1000+ reso since my lcd screen is 27 inch..I know it sounded repetitive but i need assurance from u all..If not, I might need to ditch the pc ver and go for the PS3 one(need to up rm30 for TSB ><)..Here are the specs and giv me ur honest opinions and comments(Plzz dont say upgrade, i dont think i can upgrade this year tongue.gif)

Manufacturer: System manufacturer
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E7200 @ 2.53GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Hard Drive: 79 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1)

I am 100% sure that your CPU is not enough to run the game adequately. Your fps was limited by ur CPU.

You need at least quad core to play the game smoothy. I have a 3 cores CPU b4..and it lagged badly in bc2. I got only around 30 to 50 (60max) fps in bc2. After upgrading the cpu..immediately jumped up to 70~90 fps with the same GPU.

So can i just use core 2 duo to play till the lowest(Dont know how low can go LOL) settings? I could reduce the lag rate by reducing reso to maybe at least 1080x900( Since I still wan some eyecandy), if no choice till 800x600...

Don forget Alpha was running at DX9 from what i have heard.. the real game is in DX11...i estimate a drop of 5~10% in fps from tht estimated graphs. Not trying to 'pour cold water' here..but expect the worst to avoid big disappointment lol.

If your CPU is really holding back your GPU...reducing settings/resolution will not increase the FPS(maybe 5fps increase only). This is the case that happened to my old rig. You should know that BC2 is a CPU dependent game.

You have pre ordered from origin right? Wait for the beta and see how it goes. If the fps is good enough for you..then no need upgrade. Or save up for the new intel lga2011 and new series of gtx6xx and hd7xxx gpu.
