i believe russian kies / SL users already have XXKPH offered officially...

now the long hard wait for DXKPH I guess... (My old ACE took from June till now still no release)

use almost any other 3rd party launcher like Go Launcher, ADW or launcher pro and most lag will be gone.

Really don't like TW launcher at all. And the funny thing is, TW launcher is the major cause of patent infringement with Apple!

I notice the same thing too with Go Launcher.

So far for me, Launcher Pro Plus (paid) is the only one offering smooth scrolling in both homescreen AND app drawer.

ADW launcher almost did it but homescreen also not smooth.

launcher pro is free, plus is paid with a few extra widgets only. I get it just to avoid some nagging lol.

the free version is good if you don't encounter the 'please pay me' nagging when doing some non-routine stuff which i do routinely

Go launcher is also very good, only that there is no option for column x row adjustment in app drawer.

To each his own is what I can say....one man's launcher is another man's poison!


On a side note, I just want to make correction here that Papago X5 Thai will ALSO force close when navigating with sound. (Cantonese and English).

I'm wondering if GB will have any changes cos for me voice navi is quite important...

I just tried Sygic Aura, the mapping and navigation algorithm totally sucks!

Hi,

Your battery pack may be physically degraded if overcharged / exposed to high temperatures or it may be even defective from the factory.

You can just invest in a spare batt for RM30-50 for a try, I think its worth it to spend 5% of the phone trying to fix it.

Without wifi and 3G, I can end up with 70+ % after 12hrs standby.

Nothing much happens directly from rooting.

Anyone brave enough for the upgrade?I'm likely to be too busy next few weeks to go to the service center...

For original sme sets, upgrading firmware is foc. I also downgraded b4 foc.

its true that Kies is not the best tool to update.

My last try on Galaxy Ace was unsuccessful and very scary cos it hung.

Brought it to the service center, they also told me not to use kies.

for all you know the Facebook notice may be erroneous....lets wait a while more...even Ace which was released earlier than SL just got their GB update.

With my SL its a lot rarer. Somehow I believe most recent Samsung phones will have this. To certain extent i believe this is a android problem. According to my own theory its due my router. If you want to try, reset your router as often as possible.

I have this problem too.

2 things you can try: Change ur wifi encryption to WEP or install an app called Captivate keep alive.

I've been doing both and so far the last 4 nites no problem yet.

Update : SOD on 5th nite. Found out that Captivate keep alive didn't work previously when plugged in. Will now manually trigger it when plugged in to see the effect. Almost at the point of giving up and using a real alarm clock, something that was obsoleted decades ago.
