Just made a comparison between my wife's new nokia E5 and the Galaxy SL in terms of GPS performance.
I'm able to lock position inside my office about 3m from the nearest window with agps in about 30s. With my Galaxy its impossible with or without Agps. Near a window in my house, the nokia can lock a position in about 1.5min without Agps and can hold this position as hot lock even i exited all gps apps. Galaxy SL is still trying after 10mins lol... The only condition when both are comparable is directly under the sun, stationary. BTW I'm still using DXKB2. Hope GB will bring the improvements... |

QUOTE(mmohdnor @ Oct 15 2011, 09:04 PM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289606 Hey, finally someone speak out!"Samsung Italy announced that the Samsung update for Galaxy S i9003 Gingerbread to Android will be delayed. The motivation is clear: To avoid delays in updating to version 2.3.5, we have chosen to update the terminal S Galaxy Super Clear LCD (I9003) directly to the latter version of firmware. So still waiting to see the final distribution on this Android smartphone although the consolation would be to have the version 2.3.5 instead of 2.3.4. QUOTE(mnsnazri @ Oct 16 2011, 11:51 AM) bro xsaintzx - i borrow your statement I guess GPS is the main reason I waiting for official Gingerbread release...I depend on my phone 24/7 and can't afford to take 5-12hrs to flash, restore etc, provided XXKPH works on the first try, if re-flashing and stunt required I will be in deep sh!t lol...Flash XXKPE and then flash XXKPH. Remember to flash XXKPE first. If you are totally new in flashing firmware, please spend some time reading in xda first, or you risk getting your phone bricked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787 after you flash from XXKPE to XXKPH... your GPS problem gonna be solved...no need to set the GPS back like at the 1st page instruction...i know it because my SGSL using XXKPH now.....for battery problem..try install juice defender.... |

Guys, want to have your gingerbread and eat it too? Perhaps a hope of some Ice cream sandwich in Cyanogen flavour?
Come and help donate to give an SL to the Galaxy S and S2 moderator of cyanogen for them to officially support SL. To kick start, I've already donated 5 euros. Donation Thread in XDA Or paypal link : Paypal Or you can even PM me and bank in to me and I will paypal it for you. Its embarrassing for Malaysia to lose to India! |

QUOTE(mmohdnor @ Oct 27 2011, 09:33 PM) ya, true. I don't want to get stuck later just bcoz bootloader, CSC, Radio or whatever stuff doesnt allow downdgrade (or upgrade). http://twitter.com/#!/SamsungKiesI also want to have root access. OCR can root this XKPM fw right? Hand alrdy very itchy to get the update but i rather not try it now ..huhu. Not sure how long i can resist though. delay from July to Aug to Sept to 21 oct to "early nov". I can bet my ass this'll drag on till end of Nov. My itch also almost unbearable. TW4.0 looks quite ok on my bro's S2, will we get it with stock GB for SL? |

I used to get the screen blank off which is commonly referred to as the screen of death or sod. For me it usually happens at night when i sleep.Over the last month i make sure to switch off wifi b4 sleeping n i have not get this phenomenon since. Strangely in the day time i have wifi on all the time and nothing happens. Maybe it wasn't sleeping long enough in the day time.

QUOTE(mmohdnor @ Nov 3 2011, 10:21 PM) its so fast to lock, i can't manage to test it while car is moving lol. (from the time it takes to start the app to press the accelerator pedal already lock!)I *think* papago voice navigation also can run already (didn't force close from home to work) but will test this again on the way back from work today. |

i can't say there is much difference in battery life between dxkb2 and dxkp9.
first day usage, almost same status just before I sleep. |
