![]() NEWCASTLE UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB Newcastle United Football Club (also known as The Magpies or The Toon, and often abbreviated to NUFC) is an English professional association football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear. The club was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End, and has played at its current home ground, St James' Park, since the merger. The ground was developed into an all-seater stadium in the mid-1990s and now has a capacity 52,387. The club has been a member of the Premier League for all but two years of the competition's history, and never dropped below the English football's second tier, since joining the Football League in 1893. ![]() Club Staff: Life President: Sir John Hall Owner: Mike Ashley Managing Director: Derek Llambias ST JAMES' PARK History St James' Park Stadium is an all-seater stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Newcastle United Football Club, and the oldest and largest football stadium in the North East of England. It is the sixth largest football stadium in the United Kingdom with a football spectator capacity of 52,409. Located in the centre of Newcastle, its white cantilever roof is visible across the city, and is the largest cantilever in Europe. Occupied by the Toon Army fan-base in the Milburn Stand, the East Stand, the Leazes End and the Gallowgate End, the ground has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892, and been used for football since 1880.Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium's asymmetrical stands. Besides club football, St James' Park has also been used for international football, will be used as a football venue for the 2012 Olympics, and will also be used as a rugby venue for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. In addition to professional football, the stadium has hosted charity football events and rock concerts, and been used as a set for film and reality television. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by dxjb: Dec 24 2014, 01:04 PM |

Where are all the Malaysian Toon Army? Still enjoying the football off season is it? Come on guys..the season is just days away and we have a massive match at SJP against those Gunners..lets look forward to that game and the season..
Come on guys..lets predict the team for the Gunners match.. My team if Barton plays: ------------------------------Krul------------------------------------ Simpson--------Saylor---------------Colo-------------------Jose -----------------------------Tiote------------------------------------ Marveaux-------Barton---------------Cabaye---------------Jonas ------------------------------Ba------------------------------------- if joey is on the bench then same team but put Best up front with Ba...in my opinion, we need Joey in this game coz the Gunners dont like him and he will absolutely bully them if he plays.. What are ur guys predictions? Lets get this thread up and running again..Im gonna ask some of the Toon Army Malaysia supporters from the FB page to come and join us here..if anyone could invite any other NUFC fans u know, do ask them to join us too.. Aye..Gervinho seems to be the danger man if RVP isnt playing..their midfield could be where we need to attack as of now and we find ourselves equal if not better in that area of the pitch compared to what we had in the 4-4 draw..
Look at our midfileders now: Jonas, Marveaux, Obertan, Cabaye, Tiote, Gosling, Barton, Vuckic, Smith??, Guthrie (inured), Abeid, Raylor, Sameobi.. I f we can get a hold of midfield, we could stop them from playing and we can apply pressure of our own on them.. All we need is another decent striker and spirits will be up in the Toon!! LOL 2 years contract extension for Shola, kidding me right?
This is one of the reasons why we'll never be able to compete for top 10, we dont have any other half decent striker around other than Best and Ba. |

Its simple logic, look at who we're still keeping
Xisco,Shola,Perch,Smith while Barton,Enrique, Colo etc are being linked with moves away |

i hope that we could get another good striker, not decent, to strengthen our attacks.
looks too blunt if you asked me. and ameobi gets another 2 years extensions? im guessing ameobi is a rather good boy than a naughty barton |

Guys..since we cant see Tim Krul playing for Holland tonight against England, then tune in to Astro Supersport 2 (CH816) & Supersport HD 2 (CH833) at 3.00 am and we might see Yohan Cabaye play for France against Chile..lets hope he stays injury free..he really looks like a great2 player..
Lets hope the Arsenal game goes ahead or we could be looking at our first game coming at the Dark place called the Stadium of Plight..I think this is the best tome to play Arsenal with all the instability they are having with Cesc and Nasri..and they have a Champions League qualifier coming up next week so we have a good chance.. just watch Cabaye playing for France minutes ago. he made a subs in replacing samir nasri. The style of him more into box to box midfielder, who can attack and defend at same time.
For Arsenal game i prefer like Man City formation who use 2 DM : 4-2-3-1. -------------------Krul------------------ Simpson----STaylor----Collocini----Jose ----------Tiote---------Cabaye------------ Obertan---------Vuckic-------------Jonas ----------------Demba Ba------------------ |

QUOTE(Puteih @ Aug 11 2011, 12:09 AM) i hope that we could get another good striker, not decent, to strengthen our attacks. maybe that has something to do with knowing that you would have no chance in hell of getting in any other EPL teams?looks too blunt if you asked me. and ameobi gets another 2 years extensions? im guessing ameobi is a rather good boy than a naughty barton There is no doubt about Cabaye's quality, though one might be worried about his lack of physique especially being a box to box midfielder? If he turns out like in FM then what a player we have on our hands Personally I would try a 4-5-1 or 4-1-2-2-1 setup -------------------Krul------------------ Simpson----STaylor----Collocini----Jose ------------------Tiote------------------ ----------Barton---------Cabaye-------- Jonas------------------------------Marveaux ----------------Demba Ba---------------- Don't think Obertan warrants a start right away as I still think he is too lightweight, However, i might be biased here but i think we have 1 hell of a midfield Barton,Ben Arfa,Tiote,Cabaye,Gosling,Jonas,Marveaux,Obertan,Guthrie with the likes of Ferguson, Sammy Ameobi, Lua Lua, Vuckic coming through |

Yea..tend to agree with bro The Zul and Zero Cool..but Im not sure about just playing one striker and having 2 DM..we're playing at home in the 1st game of the season..St James' packed to the rafters with a great atmosphere..and we are facing an side who are on the verge (if not already) of losing their captain Cesc..n Nasri also not playing plus injuries to Walccott and Wilshere..
I dont know bout u guys but if I see Arsenal line up with a depleted midfield, I would just stick Tiote and Cabaye in the middle and go with 2 strikers up front with Ba and Best/Ameobi..Arsenal defenders dont like to be bullied especially Koscielny..if Vermaalen doesnt play thats even better..N i would seriously consider playing Jeoy coz we need that tough midfielder who would bully the Arsenal players.. N what are the odds on: Joey already tweeting sying he will play but he actually starts on the bench..he comes on and scores a last minute winner..does some crazy wild 'Ketsbaia' like celebrations, disses Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias in ost match interviews and before the night is over he tweets again saying the club has accepted and offer for him and he's off to.......Arsenal? thats the nasty thought I just had.. I agree with dxjb, since arsenal is having some serious injury on midfield.
this would be my line up for arsenal's game -------------------Krul------------------ RTaylor----STaylor----Collocini----Jose Barton-----Tiote---------Cabaye------Jonas ------------Demba Ba----Best------------ would prefer RTaylor over simpson oh please dont let barton goes to arsenal. scared barton will be bullied by wenger for their 4-4 draw with nufc |

QUOTE(Puteih @ Aug 11 2011, 05:06 PM) I agree with dxjb, since arsenal is having some serious injury on midfield. Yup..thats the line up I was going for except the RB position..I know Simpson is shite but him and Raylor in defending? I go for Simmo just becoz he is a defender..this would be my line up for arsenal's game -------------------Krul------------------ RTaylor----STaylor----Collocini----Jose Barton-----Tiote---------Cabaye------Jonas ------------Demba Ba----Best------------ would prefer RTaylor over simpson oh please dont let barton goes to arsenal. scared barton will be bullied by wenger for their 4-4 draw with nufc I'm gonna stay glued to the internet today hoping that the Premier League gives the go ahead for the games this weekend and hoping we get some news on Erik Pieters.. Rumours are that we could do a swap with Arsenal for Bendtner and they get Jose..would be fine by me if only we get Pieters in..apparently the striker search will only pickup early next week so no new striker before Arsenal match |

Red agree Enrique deal And allegedly we're keep an eye on Bendtner, ohmygawd? We dont need a egoistical striker who has a scoring record comparable with Ameobi |

how awesome is our owner?
go ahead and sell your only recognized left back a few days before the season kick-off against Arsenal without a replacement, I can foresee Perch being the left back against Arsenal and guess what...oh wait, we kinda know this would happen...Gervinho will rape the fella alive |

No recognize left back against Arsenal and mackems on the following week, oh dear we're screwed
Hopefully this Pieters dude will be persuaded to join us by Krul Krul - Toon want Pieters I think our defense will be something like this against Arsenal Simpson - S.Taylor - Williamson - Colo Not exactly the smartest choice of playing your best defender and captain at an unfamiliar position, no thanks to Ashley and the board Even with Jose around last season we gave away 4 goals before half time lol |

Well right now..Im just flabbergasted..seriously..selling Jose for 6 million is pathetic..but we cant blame the board..it was either the 6 million on offer now, or none at all at end of the season..or we could have waited till the end of August and either Jose stays with us or Liverpool come in with a lower offer and we had to accept..so yeah Im disapointed but theres not much we can do..
As for my parting words for Jose, have fun playing for a team not in Europe like the one u said u wanted to join..u lied to the fans least season when u said u would sign the contract extension when we were safe..but u didnt and from then on, although ur a good player, i didnt like u for lying..so good luck but I wished u were good enough for Barca.. All im hoping for is we could get Erik Pieters in tonight or tomorrow morning..deadline for players to play on Saturday is 12pm of Friday to register so lets see what happens.. As for Bentdner, I would take him now eventhough he's the white Ameobi..I would rather take him than paying stuipd kind of money to Spurs for either Pavulychenko, Defoe or even than Crouch.. another one of the boards ridiculous timing of decisions, we've known he's gonna leave since January, we had eight bloody months to line up a replacement and here we are, 2 days to the season kickoff and we let him go???!!!
FFS can't we at least keep him here until a replacement has been found???!!! now we're left with no recognized left backs in the whole squad and is most probably resorting to playing square pegs in round holes Oh wait, I forgot, we're NUFC's board, being an absolute muppet is ingrained in our bloods Same case with the so called 'Striker' search which I highly doubt will materialize into anything. They'll probably spread some rumors about who we're 'supposedly' interested in and probably lowball them with an offer (if they actually bothered to make 1 in the first place). We'll actually submit bids knowing fully well that it will be rejected 100% without doubt, then on Sept 1st, Pardew will come out and say "We've tried to bring in some quality players but it was just too hard under the current financial climate and situation, rest assured we will 'surely' bring in a top top quality player in January though, the money will still be there, this is part of our long term ambition for the club." I can see this kind of bs happening throughout... |

Arsenal condition could be worse than us with many injured player and unsettled players like Nasri,Fabregas.
i think we have chance to beat them 1-0 or 2-0. |

Im trying to forget the whole Jose Enrique and left back sage and trying to think positive for the Arsenal game..yeah we have lost Jose and dont have a proper LBbut looking at what we have and what Arsenal are going through, Jose's departure doesnt changed the fact that tomorrow is the best possible time to play Arsenal..
I believe we will still add a few more players..maybe not the top names or the big stars but if we get some unknown low profile player but the quality us like Tiote or Cabaye, then I would be pretty happy.. |

Im more focus on looking at what the mackems can do rather than what the ex Toon players at Liverpool are doing..and tbh, mackems look pretty different and more dangerous than last season..
Good news, Gyan off injured..out of next week's derby? |

The only reason Shola is starting is so that he will try and use his strength against thoise Arsenal defenders..and he needs to find his form before next week's derby
Added on August 14, 2011, 1:24 amDecent 1st half but we still some nervous and cagey..and rightly so..if it was anyone but Arsenal I think we could at least be a bit more brave and creative but we are facing a team that can kill u on the counter attack so not a bad thing we are just being a bit cautious.. But Ryalor is getting raped by Gervinho thats for sure.. I wonder who Obertan will come on for..Jonas has been good and Barton to..Cabaye has been a bit quiet but thats his style of lay..Ameobi looks like a layer who has just signed a 2 year contract extension n cant be bothered bout the game..owh wait.. Shola is a donkey, get him out immediately.
Awful line up and selection of players, cant believe I'm saying this but watching the mackems who played earlier is actually much MORE pleasing on the eyes than watching us play. Route 1 football again, I thought the reason we bought Cabeye in was to diversify our ways of attacking? And look at Cabeye, under utilize no thanks to Pardew, he's long ball is so much better than Joey's No urgency in closing down players, no creativity in attacking. Gosling/Obertan should have started instead of Barton/Shola, more tenacity in midfield. |

We need Ben Arfa back asap, together with Marveaux and Obertan. This SHOULD provide us with some pace that we desperately need and not to mention creativity.
And I'm pretty divided whether to start Joey or not, now that we have Cabeye. Starting him as a winger is just not an option anymore. C'mon Pardew, you can do better than this, and bring Erik Pieters in by next week! Im not gonna say its an awful performance based on the fact it is Arsenal and the players will have thir jitters every time we try to attack..always fearful we might get caught out on the break especially Raylor with Gervinho..and it is the 1st day..
Its just the pressure really..I dont know how much more u can do with the team excet get f***in Shola off and bring Obertan or Gosling on..or atleast Best would be better than Shola..apart from that, cant really do much.. |

ONE JOEY BARTON THERES ONLY ONE JOEY BARTON ONE JOEY BARTON THERES ONLY ONE!!! And Joey should be rightfully sent off for man handling Gervinho, Gervinho too for cuddling Joey's face. Joey Barton, winding people up since 1982 Meeh if only Pardew was smarter with NOT starting Shola and using our subs WISELY, then we might stand a chance. Really ponders what is it that Shola have that warrants a start from all of our previous managers, apart from being useful in derby matches lol |

Cabaye was coming deep for the ball like he does at every team he has been at and they usually pass and let him dictate the game. For some reason our team decides to ignore him and smash the ball 50 yards to the useless Ameobi.

It’s like looking at a schizophrenic – fine one minute, crazy the next and then once the poison is out of his system, fine again. |

Was back from the viewing party @ Picadilly, PJ tonite...
There are around 30 of us came and watched the game... Some of us almost want to SLAP a drunk negro (Arsenal fan) who keep on bashing us during the game... QUOTE(THE ZUL @ Aug 14 2011, 02:38 AM) our strategy.. KRUL kick ball to Ameobi then Ameobi fall = repeat this shits till 90 minutes. Jonas missed JE and same to JE to when he was @ Pool...we need marveaux = jonas is slow man Obertan look decent at flanker. Ameobi is clueless replace his ASAP! We still deserves a draw but pumping the ball up to the strikers is not the way to go man...hope AP has something up on his sleeve @ Wearside... |

Song is really classy. Good one he stamped on Barton leg. Arsenal need player who know the 'dark' art. Finally someone stood up and not let the opposition trash them anymore. Gervinho reaction was normal. Who wouldn't get angry when someone grab you by your collar and force you to stand up? It was really lack of respect. And we not even know what were their conversation leading to that incident
this is a comment from a football fan, stamping on another people is consider classy? i guess they still didnt get over the incident last season when they lose 1-0 with eleven man, and the 4-4 comeback, i found this INFERIORITY COMPLEX behaviour really not classy at all, stamping no matter which team, is wrong, diving is wrong and slapping is a definite no no, such a sore loser... We'll be lucky to salvage a point next week with this kind of football that we're playing.
Left back pleaseee and a new striker Would have been a dream start for Cabeye if he scored, already look like a great player, a little lightweight though |

i guess they can say what they want about team lower than them cos they better, but we cant cos not BIG 4 team huu thats really sad mindset of a football fan, very immature, i bet if its his player who did that and Barton got sent off they will say that ITS JUSTIFIED! underestimate your opponents, complacency, well 4-4 and 1-0 last season against them already proved that we are not just a team to be bullied

yeah sadly thats the attitude from SOME of their fans (their fans that i knew are more matured and neutral), not all but SOME, which just proved that our points are correct aka INFERIORITY COMPLEX , i guess that happens when u support the BIG TEAMS, they cant accept the fact of drawing or losing to a club like us, really pathetic to be honest, no respect for other teams whatsoever & you call yourself a football fan? such disgrace, sad reallY
yeah really that hug is the end is just world class haha we need a striker, and a leftback, ryan taylor is really unstable, and pardew, we got great wingers now, lets use them more shall we This post has been edited by apanzhafran: Aug 14 2011, 04:13 AM |

I don't care what they said about our club. This is my club that i supported since many years ago. I don't care if they said whether this club is small or whatsoever they think.
let's leave this drama behind. I know we could be even better on the next match. Obertan looks like hot prospect future to us. Lets hope we can see Vuckic on the line up. |

On another note, I hate Abbas Saad on Astro sooooo much now..in fact, I hate evry pre game show that is aired on Astro Supersport if they show Newcastle..
Let me give an example..they showed the Newcastle lineup and they showed Joey Barton and Tiote as DM and Demba Ba as a winger with Shola up front on his own..clearly the Astro pundits have got no clue about Newcastle apart from what they read in the papers or internet..both of them tonight Abbas Saad and Peter Barnes were absolutely clueless n the thing that made me pissed off was, regarding the Joey Barton- Alex Song stamping incident, they actually blamed Joey for coming in from behind with a dangerous tackle and thats why Song did that ..WTF? They say that Joey's tackle was far more dangerous.. I do not want to watch any pre game half tme or post match show if Astro Supersport are covering a Newcastle match again..i avoided thier pre game show by watching ESPN's show..I hate Astros pundit..they're all crap.. Decent performance from the lads yesterday, Jonas and Colo definitely our man of the match, a special mention to Raylor whom I thought adapted very well throughout the match at LB considering he got raped and is playing out of position. Cabaye did well but was a bit too defensive minded as the game passed him by, while Tiote was not his normal self. Shola was his usual self being absolutely pants
I somehow couldn't imagine our squad without Barton as he proves that he is the heart and soul of the club and typifies what NUFC is all about these days, 110% commitment and does everything with fire in his belly (i'll admit not all of them are justified though) Bout the Gervinho sending off, ugly scenes but Gervinho dived, Barton got tapped on the head and made the most of it. Song also stamped on Barton but got away scot-free which incensed me. And finally, I don't usually do this but some Arsenal fans should grow up and stop whining and blame the whole world except themselves. They hold their end of the bargain for ugly challenges and expect everyone else to get sent off, banned etc while you get away with things like Song stamping on Barton? |

I dont know where u got the news that we here are all students or ex-students of Newcastle but yes some are ex and there is also one or two who are based in Newcastle right now..i used to live there for just over 4 years there as my dad was doing his PHD..not exactly saying that Newcastle University or Nothumbria University like to take students from Malaysia but yes there is quite a big number of Malaysians studying there..its not the university that decides though..these days u have to go through a lot of red tape with the education ministry to actually study overseas unless of course u have loads of money and u apply directly to the university themselves..all of u guys actually student or ex-student in newcastle city right?? since i heard that newcastle really like to take students from malaysia into their university in england.. am i right?? This post has been edited by dxjb: Aug 14 2011, 02:43 PM |

Shola was his usual self being absolutely pants About Raylor, yes, Gervinho was tearing his bum out early in the 1st half but as the match wore on, he did a pretty decent job..but mostly I would say is because of the guidance of Jonas..really liked how Jonas 'took care' of Walcott towards the end..I think Cabaye was still adjusting to the English game..he was tired towards the end but u could see the class the player has especially when he linked up with Obertan..Cabaye tried one or two through passes thats was sublime but just didnt get through..would have been better if it was Ben Arfa on the receiving end of those passes instead of Shola..good things still to come.. They hold their end of the bargain for ugly challenges and expect everyone else to get sent off, banned etc while you get away with things like Song stamping on Barton? I dont get why people are saying why Joey should have been sent off or gone soft..Gervinho dived to con the referee..even if there was contact with Tiote, it was minimal and he was doing the exact same thing Joey was doing, falling like being shot..only that Joey was pissed off that he picked the little cheat up..served him right that cheating b*****d..and Gervinho should have got the red card alone for his poor attempt at a slap..my grandma can slap harder than that u little wuss.. I respect fans of other clubs and mostly we like fans of other clubs..but with the Gunners, some are just arrogant..move away from the football..here's what I mean..i have said this before last season but I will say it again..in January Astro showed Blackburn vs Newcastle in HD but not Arsenal vs Wolves which was on normal SD..then some of these Arsenal mugs went on Astro's FB and complained that they should be shown in HD coz they're in the title race..and because Arsenal have more fans in Malaysia than Newcastle and not many will want to watch Blackburn vs Newcastle..and some evem listed the number of fans EPL clubs have in Malaysia..isnt that arrogant? true not all Arsenal fans are like that but u just visit the Astro FB page whenever they are not on TV or are on TV but not in HD and u will see they are the biggest bunch of whinners..Arsenal have great fans and I have friends who support them too but for some idiots like I just mentioned and also the ones who say it was OK for Alex Song to stamp on Barton and not OK for Barton to grab Gervinho by the shirt, it makes me hate some of them..my respect is still there for Arsenal fans but not for the whinners and the arrogants ones This post has been edited by dxjb: Aug 14 2011, 02:50 PM |

Just want I wanted as an example of an arrogant Arsenal fan..this is a f***ing c*** said this about Newcastle United..
QUOTE(little_mozart @ Aug 14 2011, 03:54 AM) and this is a reply from an Arsenal fan to that arrogant fan..QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Aug 14 2011, 04:08 AM) For me Newcastle still regard as one of top club in EPL. They used to have really good set of player. And i really like Sir Bobby Robson.. he really was a nice person. But certain misfortune restrain their progress very much. It must be a tough time for their supporter. Same as Arsenal situation right now, but when they finally get their first piece of silverware.. it's gonna be much more sweeter. Of course you must expect bumpy road beforehand. you see what I mean? Not all Arsenal fans are disrespectful. my example here shows one bad and one good Arsenal fan on how they see NUFC..This post has been edited by dxjb: Aug 15 2011, 12:28 AM |

Well, Ameobi's keep on falling, no pace at all, no threat or whatsoever. Loven at least did a cross which troubled the defense once.
Tiote on the other hand dwells on the ball for quite too long. Rtaylor's free kicks are awful On the bright side, obertan is pacey enough, cabaye's quick feet proves to be handy also Those who gets my vote that can play +STaylor +Collo +Obertan +Jonas +Cabaye just my 2 cents from last night's game |

I'll say, let bygones be bygones, lets put a halt to it right here and right now. Lets stop arguing about who did what wrong and all the boohoo.
It was the first game of the season, tempers flared on the pitch (and apparently here too), things happened which are out of our control, we're all passionate fans...lets just focus on being passionate about supporting our teams instead of arguing and belittling individuals or any other parties involved cheers from a fan of the beautiful game and NUFC |

Ok guys..here's the Joey Barton piece from BBC's 5 LIVE 606 radio show..
listen from 6 minutes in http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/606 click on the recent episode link..(Mark Chapman and Robbie Savage 14 Aug 11) Just to whet ur appetite.. Joey's comment on Mr. Wenger seeing the Joey-Gervinho incident but not the Alex Song stamp on Joey: "He sees it 60 yards away but not 5 yards under his nose" "Normal protocol for Mr Wenger" N in the 22nd minute, a 'liverpool fan' goes beserk on Joey and and Joey's simple response "why are u so angry mate? relax mate, relax" Joey and Robbie Savage should have a radio show together This post has been edited by dxjb: Aug 15 2011, 05:08 AM |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Aug 14 2011, 08:44 PM) I take full responsible for that statement. It just natural if NU fans would get mad after read that. Actually at that time i'm not thinking much; i just felt angry when reading some comment trashing Gervinho as sissy diver and Song while keep praising Barton is genius, mastermind etc. Of course being an Arsenal fan myself, i feel a little bit provoked. So i think my statement was a foolish one, but that just some form of retaliation. Never thought it gonna quoted here and make thing worse, far away from making enemy with NU fans. That is my explanation; there are nothing to do with inferiority complex, looking down on smaller club or so. That just not my style. In my eyes Newcastle United is no pushover, they still a big and one of popular club in Europe. I rank them alongside Juventus, Napoli, Lyon, Dortmund, Leverkusen and Valencia. see, when i told you guys that i know my fellow gooners,i know if you guys come up to Angel of Deth,he'll think back his words.the things that he said was wrong but sadly, you guys chose to discussed it in your own thread rather than ours.In fact i'm glad Arsenal keep going low profile in recent years. im sorry if i offended any of you with my words.i shouldn't call you guys immature but i still stand on my view that quoting people's post and not replying it directly to them is immature.this is public forum.we are open to debate and discuss things in healthy manner.if you're not satisfied with people's post, reply directly to him instead of talking behind his back. im not trying to pick up a fight in here.if you read my replies to THE ZUL,you'll know that i just want a healthy discussion instead of flame wars and argument. |

Can't believe Barton and Savage are mates lolx, even Savage as his name suggests comes across as a really reasonable guy |

Latest rumor circling is Modibo Maiga from Sochaux, have to say I know nothing about this fella so I'm gonna search him up in FM tonight haha
The rumor seem pretty solid since Sky published it and the player himself has admitted that 'I met everyone at Newcastle', sounds like another Ben Arfa situation from the article though, wouldn't play for the club anymore and demands a move. btw he scored 15 goals for Sochaux while playing with Boudebouz and Marvin Martin, most people suggest that if he can score 15 for a team like Sochaux then he can't be bad Source |

so looks like buiness is picking up in the striker search..still around 15 days to go till transfer windown closes..I think we weill still be doing business at that time as I see a lot of the fringe players going out..the likes of Smith, Guthrie, Perch and others..only hope we get some players in too to cover them..
hey guys..not a bad start to this new thread eh? we got 7 pages already..i sincerely hope those here can persuade others especially from the Newcastle FB page to join in here..it would really be nice if we had more views and comments! n yes Joey Barton does seem intelectual and inteligent when speaking..he comes across as a decent bloke..no wonder despite his troubles, his team mates do like him and dont want him to leave |

"Joey Barton is still the kind of boy your mum wouldn't want you to be friends with. Kieron Dyer is still made of glass. Manchester United are still winning games of football and Fernando Torres still can’t score a goal."
A funny quote i found somewhere lol Newcastle and Arsenal has been charged for the Gervinho incident. And Song is also been charged for his stamping. |

Gervinho banned 3 games and Alex Song might follow suit, i dont understand why Arsenal appeal againts Gervinho ban in the first place, the video clearly showed that he raised his arm and therefor an automatic send off, now they have extra games without him, luckily they didnt charge us, yet
Hopefully Eric Pieters signed this week, we need him asap, i rate him higher than enrique and Notoriez spot on brother, thats why im not bothered to even reply him, u already state what needed to be said |

QUOTE(apanzhafran @ Aug 17 2011, 01:29 AM) and Notoriez spot on brother, thats why im not bothered to even reply him, u already state what needed to be said This is the best response to end the debacle..perfectly summed up by apan and Notoriez..in fact, I find that fella is similar to Joey Barton..why? he complains about someone doing a thing wrong but at the same time, he is doing the exact same thing..just like Joey saying Gervinho went down too easily yet Joey did the same thing...ahaha..those Gooners.. About Pieters, he sounds good enough to be our LB..but the Lyon guy Cissokho sounds good too..wouldnt mind 2 quality LB..Pardew did say he wanted 1 LB and 1 striker even before Jose left and he did say whoever went, he will try replace so I wouldnt mind 2 LB..im sure we'll get one of them..difference between them is Pieters is a very defensive minded LB and doesnt go up in attack as much..Cissokho does..but either one would do just fine for us.. Im more concerned about the striker search..apparently we turned down that South Korean striker..Mike Ashley is such a dumb ass..if u wanna get even richer, sign up an Asian player..even better if its Japanese or South Korean and the club profile would sky rocket in Asia not to mention shirt sales would also boom..heck..Sports Diect might even open up in Japan or South Korea to go along with the one in Subang..but Ashely is just clueless so he doesnt force Pardew to sign up the guy like he usually forces Pardew to sell one of our players.. so who is the striker we're getting? Bendtner? Odomwingie? Maiga? Rodallega? Maynard? Or one of Spurs' strikers? Time will tell..... This post has been edited by dxjb: Aug 17 2011, 02:05 AM |

lol Bridge is pants, would rather have Ferguson/Kadar at LB.
I hope we're negotiating with at least 2 or 3 more players behind the press to avoid deals being hijacked, might get another Ben Arfa kind of signing out of nowhere |

QUOTE Newcastle target Modibo Maiga was left out of Sochaux's game last night, and it seems he would quite like a move to the north east. He's quoted as saying: "With Newcastle it's completely clear. They want me and I want to go there. The problem is Sochaux." |

Well..Fraser Forster is now on loan at Celtic..that leaves 2 senior keepers..if u add the 2 young keeper Alnwick and Soderberg then yes 4..it does seem rather pointless bringing in another keeper right now but for me it means one thing..we're seeing the end of Steve Harper at the club..which is sad..the longest serving player at the club since 1993 and he's been displaced..
I really hope he stays at the club till the end of the season, retire, then become some sort of coach for us and then have his testimonial at SJP..dont want to see him play in goal for another club..I've gotten over seeing Shay Given play for others now but Steve Harper is a Geordie just like Shearer was so u would hope he doesnt need to find another club to play football.. QUOTE Charlton have rejected Newcastle's offer for goalkeeper Rob Elliot and have contacted the Premier League over the Magpies' conduct. The north-east club tabled a £100,000 offer for the 25-year-old shot-stopper on Wednesday evening which was immediately turned down by the League One outfit. |

To be fair, this time I want Ameobi to start..not because he is good..but because his recored against the mackems is pretty decent..not saying he will do it again, but somehow, just by looking at his record, Sunderland psychologically fear Shola no matter how crap he is..its the same with us and players who just seem to score against us..
the mackems might have looked good against Liverpool, but thats because the Reds had a crappy pony-tailed striker against them and a left back who was jizzing his pants playing in a red shirt..of course we are no good either but last week we were playing Arsenal, the Barca of BPL and although we were shit in attack, we didnt do too badly.. The pressure is on them in their 1st home game of the season and with all their new signings, their fans will be on the players back..we need to stay calm, keep our concentration especially at the back and we might just grab a win..a draw would be a good result but a win would be a bonus!!! HOWAY THE LADS!!! |

HOLYYYY this is my happiest day ever,
we beat the sorry mackems 1-0. 3 points and another clean sheet. too much drama, we've been outclassed by mackems at 1st half. tiote gives a lot a cheap ball to opponent and almost cost us. barton header denied by larrson hand, anyway 3 points at stadium of shite. |

My heart sank for a moment when I saw the replay of Colo being tackled by stupid Bardsley
Overall good performance by the team, everyone did their job. Just annoyed with Pardew's tactic, we were being bombarded like mad for the last 20 mins, could have easily given away a cheap goal or something during that period of time. Even in the first half, they got the lion's share of possesion, its worrying. We need to start playing proper football again Pardew! Its understandable that Ameobi was our only target man today, but we have virtually zero penetration infront with Cabaye/Barton/Obotak. Jonas was too busy covering Raylor. But take nothing away from the lads today, they deserved it. |

obotak performance quite dull today, doesn't have the impact that he showed last week against arsenal.

ryan taylor really proves a point yday, besides set pieces we really look poor on the final half, wheres our strikers? and stop with the long ball already, our captain collo is the man!
Added on August 21, 2011, 7:22 am ![]() yesterday gathering picture, what a win, first we won the rights to watch our match at picadilly on the big screen (clashed with ars vs liverpool for that matters) and yes winning the game itself, howay the lads! bring on fulham! i missed the game to other commitments..finished my commitments, open up my wifi phone on KLIA Express and wow we won 1-0 away at the mackems!!!
Now im watching the replay and yes we did get hammered by them in the 1st half but we got chances of our own..2nd half was comfortable for us really..never quite as troubling as the 1st half.. I don't really care with Alan Pardew's non-football tactics..at the end of the day, our objective was to get something out of the game, hold onto the lead and we got it..remember..last season we were 1-0 up and we were still playing football and attacking them in the final few minutes and baaammm Gyan scores the equaliser..this season we shut up shop and credit to Pardew we held on..yes, there was potential to concede a cheap goal with the way Pardew played the teambut it would have been a bigger risk of losing a 1-0 lead by attacking.. but I as a lifelong Newcastle fan have been sick of the sight of opposition players celebrating last minute equalisers and winners against us..if defending instead of attacking in the last 20 minutes is what it takes for us to hold onto leads or draws, im happy for that..at end of the season, points is what matters.. BTW, Ameobi is great against the mackems..thats why he played for anyone still asking why he played..watch him play yesterday and it was a different Ameobi that we got last week against Arsenal..a Geordie knows best on how to beat those against the sad mackems bastarddss.. 2 tough games, 4 points, 2 clean sheets..a nice feeling to be a Newcastle fan right now HOWAY THE LADS!!!! I don't mind his lack of end product sometimes and he really is undervalued for the work he puts in every game. Relieves pressure by holding up the ball, great feet, wins free kicks, superb covering and effort, runs his socks off every time. What more could you want from a winger? (and most wingers are not renowned for their work rate or covering) Am really annoyed though with FM giving him only 5 for his finishing though. Making him look absolutely stupid when in front of goal haha |

Bro THE ZUL..time to change our siggy again.. UPDATE: Joey is having 2nd thoughts about joining QPR..on Twitter he's saying he needs time and space..come on Joey..u know u dont wanna go there..u know u and the Toon Army are a bond now..rip up that contract offer in front of Warnock.. Joey must have played himself on FIFA 11 and reckons he doesnt look quiet as cool in blue and white hooped shirts compared to wearing a black and white striped shirt.. Or......he must have read Malaysian newspapers saying Tony Fernandes is to bring Malaysian players to QPR if possible..he knows Safiq Rahim will take his place at QPR one day.. SAMMY SCORES WE'RE ON THE PITCH!
HOW DID BEST FCKIN MISS THAT I THINK HE HAD MORE THAN 5 CHANCES NVM 2-1 9 MINS MORE TOON TOON NOT FOR THE LIGHT HEARTED Added on August 26, 2011, 5:24 amWOOOOT WE WOOOOOOON! Defense solid as hell with S.Taylor replacing Williamson (poor Willow, twisted ankle or something Krul with magnificient saves as usual, really becoming a top keeper. Still abit suspect in his clearance and goal kicks though, work on those and he'll be on his way to the top What can I say about Marveaux, abosolutely MARVELOUS. Work rate as good as Jonas (when he played against Man Utd). Played even well in the 2nd half where Pardew shifted him from left wing into central midfield. Guess thats his natural position in Rennes Seriously, we need a striker that can convert goals. Could have easily won this game by 5-0 or 6-0 This post has been edited by arcaloveher: Aug 26 2011, 05:24 AM |

He deserved his spot now! Ryan taylor show what his worth too. i have mixed feeling about this match. Marveaux has a good debut. A better version of Routledge perhaps. |

Dont want to complain too much at the performance..it was a mixed bag..im sure we would have played better if it was a Premier League team but the tension of playing against a lower league team made the players nervous..some players were just playing for the 1st time and looked really rusty like Best and Gosling..
Marveaux had a good debut but Im sure he's so knackered at the end of the match..his 1st match and it lasted 120 minutes..Vuckic was very impressive coming on as was Ameobi.. I have a ton of respect for Ryan Taylor than before..he just gets on with his job..plays out of position but never stops working..yes his defending is not that good but thats becuase he's not a defender..but his work rate and proffesionalism off the pitch is top notch.. MOTM for me was either Captain Colo or Raylor..another wonder goal by Taylor!!! |

Best is SO MUCH better than Ba, Ba is super rusty, just look at his 1st touches
Best can hold the ball well, can dribble, good heading ability. JUST NEED TO WORK ON HIS SHOOTING Ba + Best = no goals Ba/Best + someone with pace (like Lovenkrands, awful finishing today too) = might form a good partnetship that can get us goals |

didn't watch the game as I had an early day today, only just finished work so I'm totally knackered, but knowing this morning that we've won was a small consolation for the crappy day at work...
Read everywhere that Demba Ba was pants? as in Shola-eques pants? |

Once again, negative tactics by Pardew just boils me up
1-0 up, we're suppose to build on that, no no, instead we let them back into the game by giving possession away cheaply 2-0, same old thing, lets defend for the last 10 mins. When Vuckic gets injured, you bring on Smith. YOU MAD? Not even 5 mins on the pitch and he's gotten a yellow. And all the time wasting stuff, if we just keep possesion, play simple passes, we wont be inflicting uncessary pressure on ourselves Anyway a win is a win, my motm either Best or Krul |

Poor Vuckic, got injured again
Obertan blows hot and cold, sometimes he looks disinterested, sometimes he'll play like how he passes to Ba and eventually leads to our 2nd goal And he drifts into the center too much, leaving Simpson exposed most of the time. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as the rest of our new signings, takes time to settle down in a new environment obviously. Dont think we'll be missing Joey too much if Cabeye and Tiote have better understand gradually as they play more together. 7 points from our 1st 3 games, dream start Bring on QPR! |

maybe AP want a bit defensive so he subs in Smith.
if u see smith almost make a mistake but he quickly recover it after receive tiote pass near the penalty box. I prefer to inject some pace by subbing marveaux instead of Smith. Best got sweet legs in front of goal. Cabaye had a good game too, this lad got a sweet long range kick |

Imagine if he was to play a full 90 mins, *shudders* Best 2nd goal was very well taken, more so when he was in between 2 defenders Give him a chance and he'll bang in goals. Just need a better striker to play alongside him. |

I watched the 1st half up until the 30+ minute mark..then went off to terawih since its the last night tonight and seeing how crap we were in the 1st 30 minutes, i was happy to go to masjid then watching our poor performance..
Got back home at 1015pm and the game was over.. my dad and mum were watching Man City demolish Spurs..take that Harry..and my dad and mum asked me to predict the Newcastle score..i said Newcastle sure lose la (coz Fulham is our bogey team and our 1st half performance sucked) so when they said Newcastle won, damn my hari raya mood just got better again..!!! hahaha what matters most is Newcastle are winning..they're doing it the hard way but getting points on the board early on the season is important..sure, how we play is also important but I think for Newcastle fans, we need to change our mindset a bit..we love flowing football but to have success, sometimes, negative tactics is the way to success..if its not effecting our results, then wouldnt complain too much..Newcastle fans love football but also crave success..right now, Pardew's 'negative' tactics is bringing in the results for us..if one day we suffer because of that, then yes maybe we should talk rubbish bout him but we're winning games and I and im sure most Newcastle fans just love the feeling right now.. n Pardew must be doing something right coz 4 games played this season, and 4 great 2nd half performance by the team..now a 2 week international break..get some new players in and we'll be ready for Tan Sri Tony and Joey.. Why was Alan Smith still plays? He did nothing but getting yellow carded and perhaps allowed us to concede a goal
This shows how lack in depth strength we have...unless the young guns can deliver like Man Utd kids then we are doomed half way of the season if our key players are out injured... Nevertheless 2-1 win and still unbeaten in the league is a PLUS |

demba ba and best is decent, we really need a marque striker. now whenever we meet a mid table opponent, we might still be able to grind results, but can u see them scoring against the likes of the arsenal and tottenham?

Imminent deals for today are Santon (medical now apparently), Rob Elliot from Charlton, Petr Bolek from FK Senica (previously on trial), hoping for news on Darnel Situ and William Remy who were on trial previously and impressed.
also the Maiga saga rolls on as Sochaux are apparently in advanced talks with Max Gradel of Leeds as replacement, they won't let him go without a replacement. Also names of Benayoun, Macheda on loan mentioned |

I think the reason we got a keeper is because I think Harper might be leaving or retiring in the near future..either he's leaving in January or retiring next summer..thats my opinion anyways..I think Forster will be sold next summer too.. I think we will get a striker in but Im not a big fan of Macheda..he could be another Obertan..blows hot and cold most of the time..some fresh new unknown face would give us something different I guess.. |

yup Pieters is a no go as PSV won't have time to look for a replacement (our board needs to learn this up)
but Santon has signed officially from what I've read around the web, apparently now we're haggling over Maiga's price with Sochaux also don't like the idea of Macheda on loan as we'll be helping MU develop their talents while paying for it also, much rather see our own youths being brought up |

i cant believe we can sign Santon.
he was incredible in FM 2011 he can play RB and LB too. good dribbler and very composure with the ball. hope he can adapt with BPL pacey style |

Delighted with the signing of Davide Santon
Now we have two players who is naturally right footed playing on the left In ideal world, i would love to see a natural left back like Pieters / Cissokho to join us..but under MA i don't think it would happen... Crossing my fingers that there is another striker and hopefully a real left back joins us.. |

again I really don't like the idea of loaning Macheda and helping MU raise their youths while paying a fee for it. Sturridge with an option to buy would be awesome but highly doubt it will happen.
Also rather we get Cisse or Maiga, there are also rumors that the scums are getting rid of Gyan and getting Samaras or Crouch??? seriously wtf, well done agent Bruce...hahaha |

QUOTE(THE ZUL @ Sep 1 2011, 03:07 AM) 2 hours left actually..ends at 6 am Malaysian time..Liam Ridgwell from Birmingham is on the cards..decent player for cover at the back..we need bodies in the squad so this seems fit..he could even play LB with Santon at right back..also Nile Ranger part of the deal..take James Perch too please Chris Hughton.. Danny Simpson on way to Villa? Fine with me if we can get Bassong eventhough he left us.. |

I think we will end up only with Santon and that Charlton goalkeeper, wheres the priorities Mike Ashley? we need at least one more fullback (i never hope Perch will play) and at least another striker!

Very dissapointed that we didnt manage to get a good striker in.
I mean, 6 months to identify a good striker and the best we can get is the likes of Maiga, Roux and some other unknown guys out there? Sickening, nothing but lies from the board again, why I am surprised |

They might as well have given Ben Arfa the no 9 shirt and say we have a new no 9..I am not a bit surprised we didnt get anyone..if we really had anyone, we would have already bought him in before yesterday..Newcastle are hope less on transfer deadline day..either players are sold or none come in..
Owh well..the one are that concerned me has now been filled by Santon..any striker that we would have brought in, wouldnt guarantee us goals immediately anyways..so lets just wait for Ben Arfa to come back..Ba to start scoring and and Best to keep scoring.. ![]() if this sign comes down completely, and replaced with that cheap shop logo, then that will make my blood turn cold.. |

![]() Newcastle launch saucy lingerie range Former Newcastle manager Ruud Gullit preached the gospel of "sexy football" back in the 90s - now the club have revived that spirit by launching their own lingerie range. The stereotypical Toon fan might sport a tattooed beer belly, but the Newcastle undies have been designed with a rather sleeker figure in mind. The saucy items on sale include stockings, suspenders and French knickers, tastefully emblazoned with the club crest. The launch follows a deal struck with "football-related underwear specialists" Premier Lingerie, who already make underwear for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Newcastle United head of retail Stuart Middlemiss said: "This is something which a lot of other clubs have been exploring and we are keen to see how Newcastle fans take to the club-branded lingerie." Paul Robinson, director of Premier Lingerie, added: "We're delighted to be working with Newcastle United - it's such a big club and has a massive fan base, not only in the North-East but across the country and further afield. "We've had a great reaction at another Premier League club so I'm hopeful that they'll also be a hit with Newcastle fans." http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-.../article/66578/ ![]() buy one for your gf and wife. ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Mustadio: Sep 7 2011, 12:15 PM |

i have been a die hard newcastle fan ever since 1996...was 9 yrs old back then...never once have i gave up on the team....best memories was when we were under sir bobby robson....champions league football...top 4 most of the time....every team feared us...
players like ginola, rob lee, warren barton, peacock, gillespie, asprilla, ketsbaia, robert, gary speed, given, ferdinand, batty, andy cole, gascoigne, waddle, and many more awesome stars...of course...alan shearer... was kinda sad to see carroll leave..he reminded me of shearer...the aerial power strength and all..local geordie lad...unfortunately he is not as loyal as shearer... no matter what...... howay the lads!!!! looking forward for this season!!!!! The key for us to get a result is not to fear QPR and their new signings..they are the ones that should be under pressure playing at home, with the new signings and playing LIVE on Monday night TV..
I would settle for a scrappy and even a defensive 1-0 or 2-1 win..looking at the table, excet for Man Utd, the other teams arent playing that attractively too and yet they're near the top of the table with points already in the bag.. I wouldnt want us to play attractivvely like Liverpool but in the end lost to Stoke..we can win if we have a good strategy..just wishing Ben Arfa starts speeding u his recovery..a goal by Best or Ba would be nice on Monday though.. HOWAY THE LADS!!! |

QUOTE(chickenshit36 @ Sep 13 2011, 01:46 AM) Check 1st page for infoESPN (CH812) & ESPN HD (CH832) Strong lineup..we need a performance from Obertan really..he needs to show up and not drift in and out of the game..if he aint peforming, Marveaux should step in and run the show.. and Shola needs to step it up..Sammy is hot on his heels.. I wouldnt mind an ugly 1-0 or 2-1 win..its a difficult place to go to and with QPR and Barton up for it, I wouldnt mind any kind of win for us.. |

Lol Taarabt getting the better of both Tiote and Cabeye, both of them still seem to lack communication.
Marveaux wasnt half bad against Scunthorpe playing in CM, but yeah different class of opposition. Might see him come on against Jonas who have not been his usual self today, might be injured too Added on September 13, 2011, 3:54 amWe're still 0-0, largely thanks to misses from Jay Bothroyd (lol even this guy can get into the England team) and goal line clearance from S.Taylor! Obertan is really getting on my nerves..not chasing back, just looking and waiting for the ball..Tiote is being too careful in his tackles with Taarabt..
Raylor has lost his mojo as LB..Santon needs to come on.. Lets hope for another good 2nd half performance from the lads.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Sep 13 2011, 04:36 AM |

Why can't newcastle play as good as how qpr plays?
Players dunno what else to do except making long balls and guti with his not so good dribbling skill. We will be lucky to get a draw with this one, but it seems a qpr goal is imminent |

Seems like qpr having a training session or friendly game, very relax passing ball around. I dont understand how pardew can tahan to watch the game like this.
Anyway, I feel sorry for qpr not to win even tho I support nu |

Frustrating but a point is better than a shit performance with no points..lucky get a point or else not worth watching this match at all..
so i guess those of u who didnt watch will be pleased..somehow, i didnt like watching Tony Fernandes and his buddy there.. I dont have a man of the match but Obertan and Tiote should fight out for the worst player of the night.. I let Raylor off the hook simply coz he aint a LB and he was raped by SWP..but Obertan and Tiote was just awful tonight sorry to say.. Only postive from this match is that its 3 clean sheets out of 4 matches, our unbeaten run is now 8 matches and Barton was shit all night..haha This post has been edited by dxjb: Sep 13 2011, 05:00 AM |

ONLY plus is we're unbeaten and tied at 4th with Stoke.
Cabeye must be wondering why he had opt to join us from Lille. Chasing like a headless chicken for the whole game, due to all the long ball needlessly bombarded forward. Just let the guy dictate the game and we will be more effective in front, not to mention more pleasant in the eye too. Isnt that why we bought him over in the 1st place! Rant over, night Added on September 13, 2011, 5:03 am2nd half from the 45th minute onwards was like Pardew: Ok boys, lets sit deep for 45 mins and let them attack, a point is all we're here for. ROFL.i dont understand about pardew tactic. we were lucky not be hammered like 0-8 tonight. Tiote not play a simple football like he did b4, he will try dribbling over the field. WTF tiote this is not pre-season game and u almost cost us. we played with 4-4-2 tonight. we have 2 CM with defensive minded i think we don't need 2 defensive minded on the field. unless we play with 4-2-3-1. R.Taylor as always got raped by QPR players. Why santon not subs in 2nd half. i don't see any attacking football by pardew. Santon can inject some pace in attacking. all i saw is long ball tactic. good news - we not conceded,we not lost, we got raped and we're up to 4th spot. we always lucky |

the failure of our play due to:
1- the long ball and crossing instead of cut in and shoot when u got the chance playing mentality by Alan Pardew 2- No attacking full back like Enrique, Warren Barton or Stephen Carr for example which makes it easier to mark our midfielders and strikers, our full back just stay behind most of the time 3- Too many target men, flick on header hopefully will reach the target, no super speedy striker or poacher like Shearer, Martins or Owen for instance to link 4- Playing too wide at small pitch, our CM was completely dead, and i dont blame them because our strikers are not linking up with them, instead waiting for the cross or high ball 5- Hoping too much on set pieces instead of relying on OPEN PLAY 6- Lazy midfielders who doesnt know how to cover like Obertan, lazy strikers aka Shola Ameobi who doesnt know how to distrupt defenders 7- I can give 1001 more reasons but too lazy to elaborate oh another one MIKE ASHLEY |

"It is 110 years since Newcastle opened a top flight season with back-to-back clean sheets in away matches. In 1901, they did not concede at Blackburn, at Everton and at Notts County."
Trying to make my heart feel better today: Bad performance, yes, but its still a great start - eight points, still unbeaten, three clean sheets, plenty to smile about. But heck.. i start my class today and damn Im gonna hate a bad start to a day |

next - away games at Aston Villa
AP pls change your tactic! we need a playmarker. AP should change Cabaye to advance forward because he is too deep in midfielder. and please drop tiote to the bench and give Marveaux a start. |

decent result against an outfit still on their high, read everywhere that we were crap but how about the defense, 4 matches played, 2 clean sheets away from home, 1 against Arsenal, this isn't typically Newcastle lol...
It seems like now we are quite the opposite whereby now we are competent defensively but absolutely clueless going forward, all throughout our history its been the other way round, do hope that we find some ways to score though |

If u see how we started the match, we actually started with a 4-4-2 formation..we actually had 2 strikers up front so there was no doubt that we went there for a win..
The thing that bothered me was the lack of creativity of our players..Simspon and Raylor were just pumping long balls up front to a lazy Shola who kept falling down on his backside..he is so pathetic that he cant even perfect the art of getting fouls out of defenders.. Tiote was just going around in circles like a clown..when it was better to play a simple pass to a team mate, he would try some skills that would never come off..and when he did pass, it was so awful that it wouldnt even have the power to reach his team mate..Tiote has not been the same this season..is his head being turned away by other clubs? I said it earlier that it was as if Tiote had swapped body and skills with Smith coz it was such a poor display by Tiote..he looked like a man who hadnt eaten for a while..owh and yeah..he picks up his usual booking for fouling Barton of all people.. n Obertan..? he looks like a man who doesnt understand how to use his pace..has the pace but not the brains.. i guess the only positives we can take are our league position, points on the board and clean sheets
i do however am really concerned about the lack of creativity or goal threat in every single game, we genuinely look like a side that will struggle for goals. Best will popup with his share but don't see anybody else chipping in or stepping up to provide it...and don't get me started on Shola |

he indeed hadnt eaten for a while, that was during ramadhan period but that was 2 weeks ago. his actions were really dangerous, i we were up against man u last nite, those errors would have been converted to goals.
also disappointed with guti. he just ran and ran until he reached the corner of the penalty box then that was it. i think best was good but there were so little good pass made to him that he couldnt do much about it. |

Lets compare this season results to that of last season..
Last season: Arsenal (H) Draw Sunderland (A) Draw Fulham (H) Draw Blackpool (A) Draw This season: Arsenal (H) Draw Sunderland (A) Win Fulham (H) Win QPR (A) Draw Roughly, if there are any positives we can take so far is that our team is becoming more resilient..put aside the quality of performance but results wise, we're doing pretty well..lets see what we can do at Villa Park on Saturday..we lost there last season..lets see if we can impprove.. Owh and Im pretty sure things will be a bit more creative and have a touch of flair if Marveaus and soon, Ben Arfa, start in the team.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Sep 15 2011, 01:08 AM |

Trying to be on the positive side..
Newcastle are so unpredictable in whatever they do including results wise.. When we are expected to win, we end up losing or drawing.. Many think we're gonna lose our unbeaten record at Villa Park..trying to stay positve and hope the lads can pull off another surprise.. We havent lost a competitive game since losng to Liverpool 3-0 on the 1st of May..seven games now..hoping for it to be 8 at Saturday tea time.. |

A performance that could and probably should have got us a win..
Still unbeaten after 5 matches now with Blackburn at home next weekend.. if u offered me draws against QPR and Villa away, I would have hapily accepted it.. Time for Ben Afa to hopefully return first on Tuesday against Nottingham Forest in the Carling Cup on Tuesday..Forest are absoluely shit right now under Steve McLaren.. Lets hope for a win to get us through to Round 4.. |

Don't think we should rush HBA back especially against a championship side...
anyhow anyone noticed Marveaux, looked bright and that diagonal pass to Cabaye is quality, Cabaye will get his goals sooner or later Im sure of that |

The only negative from the performance today (I wont mention Shola, its the same comments about him every match) is about Obertan..thats 2 games in a row i see him so lazy off the ball..he doesnt make the runs when his teamates are on the ball..he just stands there waiting for the ball to feet when he should run and find space..

yeah Obertan is lazy to tracking the ball back.
even routledge not lazy as him. give marvux start at obertan position and give obertan a lil rest. |

Just looking at the table..had it not been for the superb Shay Given, if we had won, we would have been 3rd and a point behind Man Utd and Chelsea..incredible..but still glad with what we have now..

Good performance today...
Was afraid we gonna get caught off guard by the pace of Bent, Gabby and Zogbia actually. Luckily they are not able to finish except for one lucky goal from Gabby. Either team should have won the game but we actually deserves the win more as we played much better than Villa who relied on counter attacks. Sammy n Marveaux should have been brought on earlier...and why Shola still playing baffles me |

A very good point indeed, we were lucky not to lose in the last game and unlucky not to win this one so it's fair I guess. Really hope we can play like this every week and that would be awesome.
My guess for strolla replacing best is somewhat a protection to our thin striker squad especially our goal machine for the moment, Mr Best. We don't really want him to get injured plus we were dominating the game as well. But perhaps Sammy or Gosling would have been a better option. Strolla should be ashamed of himself actually. As everyone else, I'm looking forward to see Tiote - Cabaye - Barfa - Marveux combo |

After looking back on our game last night, it showed something that we never give up..except for the QPR game, I can say all 2nd half performances by the team this season has been superb with the never give up attitude and to fight for every possible point till the end..
Hope this continues.. HOWAY THE LADS!!! |

Actually, we do have a good run of winnable games coming up if we keep up the performances we have had and keep the defence well..and also get our injured players back..
next 6 games: Blackburn (H) Wolves (A) Spurs (H) Wigan (H) Stoke (A) Everton (H) and then Man City & Man Ud (A), Chelsea (H)..so we need to pick as much points as possible before these three matches..but to be honest, we did pretty well against the top team last season..only Man City managed to pick up full points against us last season..Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool all dropped points against us..we have so far done pretty well against the team we did badly against last season.. Not wrong to be postive and optimistic as a Newcastle fan right now..not often we are in this position and can feel good..enjoy it while it lasts This post has been edited by dxjb: Sep 20 2011, 12:37 AM |

What an epic match eventhough just read Live text commentary..heart stopping stuff but what a 4-3 win after extra time..
Last season at the same stage, we beat Chelsea 4-3 with a last minute winner from Shola but tonight, it was captain Colo to the rescue.. Dont want to comment too much coz didnt watch the match but sounds like Rob Elliot had some horrendous moments in goal and the defends were all over the place..especially for the 3rd goal..Perch and Elliot basically crashed the system at the back for us.. An impressive debut for Abeid..and a good 60+minute run out for Ben Arfa..looks good to go for Saturday..although I fear Chris Samba will smash him hard.. Another win that streatches our unbeaten record to 8 matches in league and cup competition..lets hope for a kind draw in the next round..anyone but Man Utd or Arsenal..Man Utd are on form and we've had enough of Arsenal in the cup for a few years..although I think we could beat them..hehe.. Aldershot at home would be nice.. This post has been edited by dxjb: Sep 21 2011, 05:37 AM |

Nice win against Forest, great to see Ben Arfa back too!
Marveaux definitely deserve a start for our next game against Blackburn in my book. Hopefully this is the last time we'll be seeing Perch too, lol. Seriously we're gonna need some reinforcement in the CB area come January. |
