Going to release a CWM package of Zach's script + modified Darky's zipalign with binary + sqlite + 00remount script. Not sure what to call it yet.

Any suggestions? tongue.gif

Edit: Oh, and the scripts are much much improved tongue.gif

Also testing some no-journaling and it's butter smooth so far. Better than ext2 lagfix. Potential corruption of data is a problem though.

Try flashing a modem (i.e. XXJVS/XXJVT) from Perka's stash? Heard it will resolve the problem.

Nandroid backup is there to make sure that if something goes wrong, you can still recover it by doing a restore.

Google addons are those Google apps like Youtube, Google Search etc.

Updated my siggy tongue.gif

pikachu01,

your thunderbolt! script can be used in CM7? I tried the CWM zip but i am not sure if it is correctly applied. Can you clarify on this? Thanks~!
*
Try doing in terminal emulator
CODE

cat /proc/sys/vm/dirty_background_ratio
cat /proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio

They should be 55 and 90 respectively. You can try other settings (check the script and see what it sets, if those settings are applied, then it's being applied correctly)

QUOTE(ic3joker @ Oct 11 2011, 10:53 AM)
in cm7 we delete s98system_tweak script and screenstate_scaling script to avoid instability and SOD. hmm... hmm.gif
*
Yes, there are certain instabilities in the old script. The new modified script should limit the instabilities to a minimum.

Let me know if you its unstable. I'll make it stable smile.gif

alright will test it,. so you mean we can flash it on cm7 right?
*
Yes. Let me know if there are instabilities.

QUOTE(matsuru @ Oct 11 2011, 11:16 AM)
CODE

cat /proc/sys/vm/dirty_background_ratio
cat /proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio

The 1st one gives me 5
the 2nd one gives me 90
------------------------------
in CM7, where do we find:
s98system_tweak script
screenstate_scaling script
??
sorry, i am not sure here. issit in etc/init.d folder?
*
1st one should be 55, not 5. You must have some other scripts setting it to 5. Delete the script or it'll lead to performance drop.

Yes, it's in /system/etc/init.d

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Oct 11 2011, 12:18 PM)
yes. but not the remount script as it's only for Samsung roms. correct me if I'm wrong smile.gif
Yes, remount script only for Samsung roms. I can make a remount script for CM7/MIUI if I know the mount points. Just do "mount" without the quotes and let me know the output.

pikachu: do we need to launch the remount code every time we boot? Or just for 1 time only??
*
You can set it at boot using Script Manager (Run At Boot and Run as Root). It'll automatically do it at boot.

pikachu01,

OK. i tried install via CWM again but the result also the same =5.

so, i tried unsupercharge then delete everything in init.d folder, reboot, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, fix permission and flash your v1.1 again.

now booting up. hopefully everything is ok.

update: i still get 5. i wonder why =.=;;

update 2: doesn't work. i still get 5 and my init.d folder is empty. Trying your v1.2 now.
*
Hmm, might be something that is changing your prop settings. Check your local.prop and build.prop in /system and /etc. Or you're using the Tweaks app by CF-root/Semaphore to set it.

QUOTE(michaelnct @ Oct 11 2011, 05:32 PM)
Tried flash using CWM, no luck also.... Call up Samsung service centre, told them my phone was bought July2010 and warranty suppose to end Jan2012 (18 Months, send back warranty card), but they said no such thing,

phone checking RM30
software update RM30
Others--- depend.....

so sad! my IMEI forever gone liao!
*
Did you try using Odin/CWM to install a modem? Did you replace your efs folder correctly? You might not be using root correctly?

QUOTE(matsuru @ Oct 11 2011, 06:06 PM)
Pikachu01,

Instead of using cwm,  can I just unzip and push the appropriate files into system folder? Will that work?
*
Yes, it's the same smile.gif

Mr. Pikachu, I flashed ur ThunderBolt 1.2. Felt some lags initially.. After checking init.d I have 2 screenstate scripts in there. is this normal?
*
The initial lag is normal. Zipalign and sqlite is doing its thing even after you've already booted up and your launcher is loaded. You need to wait a while till its stabilized and it will be smooth.

I'm uploading 1.3 now tongue.gif

Sorry for the rash amount of updates, but I'm fine tuning it to cater to everyone's needs.

i copied the /efs folder using root explorer and saved it in the PC, i didnt notice that the nv_data.bin & nv_data.bin.md5 inside the /efs foldder show 0bytes, but i do noticed .imei file still carry my correct IMEI.

i tried to restore using the copied /efs to the phone but still cannot, the phone created the new nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 itself.

I flashed the modem using ODIN and CWM. both doesn't bring my IMEI back. I called up the SSC yesterday, the guy keep asking me to bring the phone back to their SSC at plaze berjaya.

so down..... by the way, what happen if IMEI lost?
*
If IMEI is lost, you can't connect to your phone network. No calls/smses GPRS/3G etc.

This is something strange, I still can make call, receive call, smsing.....just like normal, the only thing is the IMEI is no longer mine.
*
Impossible. Is there a chance that you might have failed to realize that your IMEI is different all along? Got cheated by the seller?

If your EFS is corrupted, your IMEI would be:
004999010640000 or 000000000000000

There is no chance that your IMEI can change to something else, or this would be a bug that Samsung has failed to realize and people could clone other people's IMEI and eavesdrop on their SMS/Calls etc :S

I bought this phone from Maxis, and the sell person did show me the in phone IMEI, box IMEI and IMEI sticker, all matched. When I flashed Simplicity 1.5RC2, I noticed my IMEI changed. Despite that, I can choose VPN-Maxis 3G, use Nitranity to change my product code to XME etc. But Kies displayed the product code as (XXX). See the picture below..... look great right?
*
Wow. I always thought that changing your IMEI will bar you from connecting to your network. This is really weird.

Try removing address reservation setting in your router or put lease time as 24hours or 48hours (not forever)

anyone of you having the issue like me, i had it for a long time. I used fb apps, after click on the app, it will bring straight to New Feed page, problem is here... the loading on New Feed is so long to load.

If u face this problem, mind tell me how to solve it.

I dun have lag issue on my phone.
*
Are you using Wifi or 3G/EDGE to access it?If you're using Wifi, your MTU might be too high (I experienced this before on WIFI and Facebook app seems to be very adversely affected by MTU).

Read from somewhere that Galnet's fix alter the bitrate, seems smooth but not sure if it's the REAL fix or on-th-eye fix. lol.. Yeah, CM7's 720p is not anyway better than MIUI

Added on October 17, 2011, 7:52 pm
yeah, I'm using v1.4. Works great! no, you don't have to enable ext4 unless u wanna use the remount scripts.
*
You'll miss about ~20% of extra speed if you don't use the remount script + lagfix.

so is it necessary to convert ext4?

Not necessary, but if you want to experience the full smoothess, you should smile.gif

Note: As always, be sure to backup etc before performing major operations on your phone like lagfix. Anything could go wrong. smile.gif

wat is MTU. any suggestion to overcome? it happen on either access, wifi/3g.
*
Hmm, then it's not an MTU problem. Slowness of network maybe. Happens to me sometimes.

Edit: MTU = Maximum Transmission Unit
QUOTE(azamunekurone @ Oct 17 2011, 09:22 PM)
orait,..done it pikachu!thanks!

but i do notice a slight drop marks in antutu benchmark, however i do notice improvement on smothness and fast from stock...also,i convert it to ext4,but with voodo aps,i dont see any ext4 lagfix status..hmm,wierd!
*
Benchmark only does a one-off continuous data read/write. It doesn't account for the real world spurious data in which the configuration I am using helps a lot.

Voodoo Control does display it, at the end. Look for lagfix.

Not sure then. You can always check "mount" without the quotes in terminal emulator and see what file system your system is currently using smile.gif
