Seriously, I'm begining to think that un-uniform degradation of organic elements leading to general screen quirkiness is a trademark of most AMOLED screens in general.

I mean, we never look at something that's fully in one colour, except in rare instances (i.e. checking the screen for defects, ironically). So as EACH SAPERATE PIXEL degrades after use and EVERY COLOURED IMAGE lights up random amounts of said pixels... ugh.

We need a longer lasting inorganic OLED alternative.

Oh, while work has been absolutely killer over here these past few weeks, I've managed to curik some time to go back to my original WidgetLocker config.

Very little battery drain too, it seems (comparable to my old ExecAssist lockscreen), so prolly sticking with this as it offers more functionality.

Which is funny bcause I ran away from WL last time due to battery drain. Maybe it was my experiments with Tegrak back then (was testing schedulers at the time).

I gave up on RE already, no multipane/tabbed view is a pain (pfft) when you surf your filesystem on device extensively and a lot more often then using PC.

Now using total commander beta, if only RE goes multipane (sigh). I mean, iFile on iOS can even give you the option of running what, 8 tabs at once? THERE IS NOTHING EVEN CLOSE TO BEING COMPARABLE ON ANDROID, which, taking into consideration we're the more "open" platform (as we like to say), is really quite funny.

Even Total Commander only does two, sigh.

Multitab Root-Able File Manager woiii la Android devs.

(EDIT: I found efile that seems to do multitabs, lets see if it does root also).

Anyway, on a lighter note, I've just ordered these babies from korea:

Hopefully:

1) The SGP Glas fits
2) My OTG cable fits
3) The vapourware Samsung 2000mah extended battery fits

Hopefully. I've thrown away so many cases for failing to pass no 2 alone.

Not personally theming, just collecting black apps from all over. We're on SAMOLED+ people, the sexy true blacks are our greatest asset.

Plus it saves your organic led from further degradation AND saves battery power.

Unifi you using what router? the stupid TMRND wifi router is the main cause..  rclxub.gif
D-link wifi router is the best..but TM has no stock..  laugh.gif

I had to reroute the router (lol).

Thankfully I had a spare Belkin G router lying around, and the helpful TM techs who came over managed to run the connection through the Belkin (while admitting that the TMRnD modem is crap themselves).

Now the TMRnD only works as a splitter for the TV.

If you guys have a spare wireless router (router only models, ADSL router combos don't work), try it out.

My friend has been struggling for solution..  notworthy.gif

Run the TMRnD as a wired gateway, poke the belkin into the TMRnD (using an ether cable), configure the belkin to suck from the TMRnD, turn off TMRnD WIFI radios.

Have to get back to Shah Alam first before I can poke around with the configs, but IINM you only have to configure the belkin (or insert-router-name-here) and turn off the TMCrap WIFI.

And again, ONLY PURE WIRELESS ROUTERS WORK, NO ADSL COMBOS.

And yea, I am still able to use both the UniPhone and the UniTV with this config.

Also, there are some particular TPLink and Asus N router models that can COMPLETELY replace the TMRnD, even w/o needing to use a Microtik. Try searching the for athena UniFi faq on google for more info.

Just google "inverted black market 3.0.27 xda". Once you find the thread, the Droid/D1 one works for me.

Uninstall market from TitanBU, flash from recovery after wipe cache/dalvik, wipe market data after restart and voila!

hi all, i just got S2 in Bangkok, and it costs 16900Baht now (Ori set), and got the power pack as well with additional 1300mah, loving the phone now but i realize a problem, the headset volume is just way too soft for ongoing phone call, this is impacting my work because I can't hear anything at all even with headset in noisy environment at Max volume, google shows that many people are faacing the same issue and may be due to FW issue (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146825)
Has anyone faced this and any resolution here?
Proposed solution in the link above does not seems to help much... sad.gif

It's a normal thing with the SGS2, and I do the secret hack thing often (because it doesn't stick).

One of the MAIN issues IMHO with the SGS2, far outranking the screen peculiarities, battery drain and "der pink spot" in my book, as it interferes with the SGS2's MAIN function - being a phone.

Funny because on my old iPong, the earpiece was so loud everybody else could hear what I was talking about (which is an problem in its own right) - that is, if I could hold a good signal and didn't drop the call in the first place (very REAL issue with the iPhone that iSheep in urban areas like to pretend never exists).

More proof of the vapourware Samsung original 2000mah extended internal battery: this time on an official Samsung page!

Judging from the curvature of the replacement back cover, that thing IS slightly bigger.

Come on Samsung, I have money ready woiiiii!

EDIT: More hints from Samsung Australia - including RRP ($39.95) and part no (EB-K1A2EBEGSTD)

I can't find it for sale yet, maybe I should call Sun-U (samsung official accessories distributor) again.

But anyway, I already know my battery dies in 4-5 hours in full blast screen on mode, I'd expect to get 1-2 hours more screen on time from the extra 350mah. For normal, use, just x2.

Will take "normal daily use" readings tomorrow anyway.

It's considerably slower actually, but I like bling bling lol. Plus the WP7-ish layout as it shows more on screen.

Damn I'm killing my data connection lol, if it's any indication of how heavily I use the phone.

It's been 9 days and I've used 3GB out of 5GB... Not funny considering I don't tether and/or download/torrent on device. Need a larger (or better still, truly unlimited) FUP cap it seems, thankfully Celcom don't do cekik darah overbilling like Maxis.

Testing my glas + ultra optics mega combo. Seems to work well, though the back button is slightly less responsive now. It now needs a firm press to activate.

Which, considering how often I hit it by accident, might turn out to be a good thing lol.

Also, I just went through a horrible accident (total loss), so could not send out the 2 OTG cables for Orangepillow and zumazuma, will do it tomorrow morning. I'm really sorry for the delay.

EDIT: Glas + ultra ops seem to have degraded my sensitivity somewhat more noticeably than I first thought. Now back to just the Glas. I have to get used to a glossy screen all over again lol.

On the flipside, the screen's a hundred times more gorgeous now.

Hey guys, if u use your sgs2 in the dark (total darksness like inside ur room) you will find that even with the lowest brightness the screen is still a little bit too bright. I found a free app in market yesterday that can further reduce the brightness (even to 0 brightness but careful later u cannot see anything on screen lol)...

what i like about the app is u dun even need to configure, by default it adds a 50% 'shade' like you are wearing sunglasses.. after that u can still use the normal brightness adjustment way to reduce or increase brightness like normal (dun need to use the app)!

get it from market it's free..

OR just use Chainfire3D's nightmode "custom color" option - you can tune your colour balance too.

But seriously people, elitist or not, we need a serious "modding talk" thread set up for the SGS2. I can barely find any new interesting info in this spoonfeed circus any more. I knew that things can sound harsh over here sometimes, bit this is ridiculous - it sounds like an iPon thread now (no offence).

And please, if we ever set up that thread, we absolutely need a "Post 5", really.
