so in conclusion , study in utp will like everyday study study and study? compare to utar
*
I disagree, I have friends that never seem to study and score 3.5 and above. It is really up to the individual. If you can cope up with the study, then you may relax, else study study study unless you want to screw your CGPA.

Most undergraduate Automotive projects employ Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for simulating turbulent flows around the vehicles. But I hope you can create a new wave of mind-blowing and extraordinary ideas to impress your FYP adviser and the examiners.

Thus, if you don't mind, would you post your preliminary idea or sketch here? Rest assured that your original concept will only get better as part of the process of stepwise refinement to invent or innovate something meaningful by creating value for people. Modern automotive technology has changed the way we live.
Just found a problem in my idea. Will upload soon. smile.gif Thanks again.

Silly question. During the orientation, what time are we supposed to wake up and what time does the programs at night finish?

Asking cause I was formally a UiTM student, and their orientation was HELL. Woke up at 4 am every day (5 am events started)  and events finished by 1 am in the morning. basically was sleep deprived for the whole 1 week
*
Expect to be sleep deprived during the whole orientation week. I think start 7.00am to 2am. Chill ya. It will be awesome.

utp has merit scholarship? like spm full As then offer half tuition fees ( cause i dont get the petronas scholarship)....or i need to pay all?..
*
I don't think so. I've never heard of such scholarships being offered in UTP.
Normally students with all A+ are with JPA/PETRONAS scholarships already.
If you're private student, then you still have to pay all.

Omg...I just checked my application today again and they now tell me to wait to 21st May For my final result!??!?!?! WTF!??!?!?!? I waited for SO LONG, My UTAR registration is on 18TH May!!!!! What am i going to do now!?!?!?
I need serious help and advice...
*
Go for UTAR, pay for the registration first, don't pay for the course. Then, if you get UTP, I think UTAR refund 50% of the fee, get the refund, then join UTP.

QUOTE(Knowia @ May 10 2013, 04:26 PM)
UTP is famous for sudden change in their timetables haha. Any ICT students here?
*
Which timetable? Exam timetable? Subject timetable? The change is always for a reason. They don't change it unnecessarily.

QUOTE(aloy88 @ May 10 2013, 04:53 PM)
Hi , just asking on behalf of my brother ,
he really love UTP so much.
the problem is , that he is offered his 2nd choice.

can he appeal to change from Foundation in EE to Degree in Chemical Engineering after completion of foundation program ?
*
Yes, you can. You can change it during foundation as well because the Foundation is the same for all engineering courses.

Jeans? So girls can wear jeans too?

And I was told that we need to join ko-k in sem 1 of foundation(??), so joining those clubs are considering taking part in ko-k? icon_question.gif  sorry if I'm confusing..
And seriously, I wish to find a good roommate...  *sigh*
*
Nop. Joining clubs are not under credited co curriculum. From what I remember, 1st sem foundation students dont take co co yet. Only from 2nd sem and and onwards.

Co-Curricular Requirements
The co-curricular programme is compulsory for all students. This is to inculcate diverse interests and develop students potential to complement their academic attainment.

The various co-curricular programmes available in UTP are:

Arts and Cultural

To fulfill the University requirements for graduation, all students are required to take at least one (1) credit hour in the Art and Cultural category and the choice of participating in the remaining credit hours is the students.

In the Sports category, every student must take the Sports Science course (pre-requisite for all sport courses) before signing up for any Sports courses offered.

I have a few questions and I really hope it's not a burden to any of you or kinda like bothering any of you  biggrin.gif

1.) How do the muslims perform prayer there? as in "berjemaah" ? or in the room?
2.) Is there any discrimination on not wearing a hijab for muslim girls? and is there any girls wearing a jubah instead ?
3.) I heard that it's hot in UTP. Any tips on cooling ourselves up?  laugh.gif
4.) If we were to mail something , do we go through the administration or just go to the post office? Where is the nearest post office?
5.) What ATM Bank is available there? I know they do have but I haven't found anyone specifying it. lol. sweat.gif

I'm really sorry for the bombardment of questionssss  notworthy.gif

and ehem~ any seniors brought their own car? wanna pinjam later..hahahaha....xD
*
1) There is a mosque. A big one. Or you could perform it in the room as well. Just find the kiblat smile.gif
2) No none. But there are Arabs that wear jubah.
3) Bring a stand fan. It is a must. Bring 5 liter water bottles, keep them filled up using the water dispensers available in around hostels. It is HOT, no kidding. Bawak payung. topi etc.
4) The is a postbox in UTP beside CIMB ATM booths. Yeah, you could go through administration - minta tolong la smile.gif
Nearest post office, Idk. Sorry, I never mailed anything.
5) Yes, there is a CIMB ATM booth and a stand alone Maybank ATM machine. Err, you can use MEPS.

Glad I could help. Blast me with more question if you want to. smile.gif

Hello guys, a quick check. As for the Orientation week, how long (the time duration) will it take? I will be dropping off my sister on 15th, and thought of putting up extra one day so 16th I can visit her before heading back home.

But I think I read somewhere saying the orientation can last till midnight. Any chance, I can see her in between during the orientation?
*
Yes, it can last until midnight. You can visit her during breaks (lunch, dinner etc.). You could also ask permission to meet her, they allow that. smile.gif
