Just to clear things up, answer the following, I'm still abit confused

Scenario 1: U.S account, SEA copy of the game
RMAH and server is based on?

Scenario 2: SEA account, U.S copy of the game
RMAH and server is based on?

Scenario 3: U.S account, U.S copy of the game
RMAH and server is based on?

Scenario 4: SEA account, SEA copy of the game
RMAH and server is based on?

Just to clear things up, answer the following, I'm still abit confused
Account doesn't matter, because all your b.net info will sync with all b.net servers. This is based on my personal experience with WoW TW and the merging with my battle.net accounts.

If your IP/BNet info is SEA Region you can only use the SEA RMAH. I am assuming Blizzard is going to lock our region based on the IP. This is the most logical step and what they did for SC2:Beta. I was lock to the Korean SC2:Beta because my IP is from Asia.

If you were to move to US then you need to provide prove that you are living there. Only then will they change your default region, but this is still not set in stone.

This is just my current understanding, and most likely 99% correct. Because we still dunno how Blizzard is going to define our default region. We should know more when the game is about to release.

So to sum it up, it does not matter which regional copy of the game you get. You will be lock to a region by your IP/B.net account, not the regional copy of the game.

I feel there isn't much doubt that the game is MOST LIKELY going to be global, meaning doesn't matter if you get US, Europe or SEA version, you can all create a character on any region server. The only limitation is no cross region interaction for trading on RMAH/GAH, as well as between CHARS that belong to you or others as well, meaning a US CHAR and a SEA CHAR cannot access the samed shared stash and trade even if both chars belong to you on the same account ....


The real question like shy pointed out, is what about auction houses ? We know they can't interact cross region, but what if, I buy a US version of Diablo 3, and Make a Char on US server, which effectively locks my char to the US Region. But will

1. be able to use US RMAH/GAH ? (actually even if i can't okay fine)

2. will i still be able to access SEA RMAH/GAH ??? (i hope so especially if the 1st scenario is a No.)

3. I am not able to use RMAH at all..... (WTF!!! i hope not )

4. Can still use SEA RMAH, but must create a char on SEA server and not US server (this is bad too, cauz most of my friends are US server, so i will be playing there if i find the latency acceptable)

It will most likely be like 4. We can only use the SEA RMAH but must have toon on SEA server.

i have friends that i play with regularly in US/EU , will me buying SEA version of D3 effectively lock me to SEA server?

If I'm not mistaken, it should be like this.

Us SEA version of D3 will have options to play in US servers or the ones close to us.

But will the US copy has access to SEA?
I think US copy of SC2 cannot access SEA server
