They mentioned about their new, next-gen MMO few years ago. Just 0 details have been given to us
actually, IINM its more of a "affirmation" to shut the intense questioning from fans. Because they had a job posting on "next-gen mmo" and fans were bugging blizz too much or something lol.
it's amazing how Diablo fans are (rather) OK with the delay of the game. but on the other hand, if say the developers of COD delay their games, im pretty sure their hardcore fans would be in rage

COD bunch are amongst the most angry people in the world. How is this a huge surprise?
being a long user of Blizzard product instill an automated agreement that each game will be Soon™ once its announce and then be Very Soon™ once the date is confirm and the beta starts. The next one would be Tomorrow™ when the game arrive at retail stores.
so yeah, being a Blizzard user is all about waiting for their product. It's like dealing with typical malaysian... all slow and delays, but with quality unlike what we have here on our homeground.
Blizzard brags Diablo III will have difficulties that are harder-than-hard
QUOTE
One of the chief complaints about Diablo III since the beta was launched late last year was that it is kind of easy. However, Blizzard is letting gamers know that it's just the beta - in the full version of Diablo III, players will have a real challenge in the Nightmare, Hell and Inferno difficulties. "You will die a lot" is the main message given by a video just released by the developer, which originally aired during last year's BlizzCon.
While Normal difficulty is a fairly casual level of gameplay, things ramp up rather quickly the further down the player goes on the difficulty level selection. It gets to the point where level bosses can take an hour or more to defeat, and players need to be very selective about the gear and skills they select. A focus on cohesive teamwork is also a must.
Check out the BlizzCon developer diary in the video below. Diablo III is expected to be released sometime in 2012.
