yes if for protection purpose...
one of SGA owners glass screen cracked due to dropping his SGA onto the road tarmac surface...
*
Cloth pouch wont protect glass break. The best protection is not to be careless. I dropped mine a few times already. Good thing no damage. Glass breaks depend a lot on the height and angle of the drop whether with or without casing. The glass shouldn't break so easily as it's gorilla glass on sga.

You need to back your data from the phone internal memory. Your phone must be rooted to use titanium backup. Apps can be reinstall. Use titanium backup to backup your data. For SMS use SMS backup & restore

my phone is not rooted. how eh?
*
Root it. Google for how to root froyo. One way is download superoneclick. To upgrade to gingerbread you need to unroot it. Use the same superoneclick to unroot.

seriously no way to backup if the phone not rooted?

The important data will be your contacts which can be sync to Gmail account if you have one. Apps can be reinstalled if you have the APK files. SMS use SMS Backup & Restore. The rest you can copy to your PC. Data in the sdcard should be safe.

hi guys, how do you guys solve the internal storage memory running low problem? I got use the app2SD app but not all can be moved to the SD card. Some like apps facebook, twitter, Market, Maps or Youtube still in the phone storage... Now I can't even receive sms cos my internal memory low...
*
How many apps have you got in your phone. I have 87 apps all in all and still have 94MB internal storage free.

Check your /data/log for log files taking up the storage space. Also check your dalvik cache. Uninstall apps that taking too much space.

I still prefer froyo to gingerbread for one. Froyo GPS lock in under 2 mins. Gingergread takes between 3 to 5 mins.

Too bad too much work to downgrade back to froyo.

I am using official gb but my phone memory keep going down whenever i install more apps. How do i solve the problem? I thought the phone have app2sd in default which will automatically move my apps to sd card?
*
App2sd allows you to move apps to SD and not automatically install to SD. To automatically install apps to SD you have to change the SetInstalLocation tochange the SetInstalLocation to 2 using adb.

Now I only gt less than 20mb left. Where can I find data/log?

Added on September 29, 2011, 11:21 pm
How do u uninstall updates? I tot everytime u update, it will override the previous version.
*
You need to install root explorer and your phone must be rooted to access /data/log.

Updates over write the old version therefore no need to uninstall unless duplication. I was in your dilemma before until i discovered the log files taking up my storage space. I recovered 100+MB from there.

no need kies to root

Download Android Commander and install in your pc. You can copy, paste and delete files in your sdcard from PC but for system files you can only view and copy to PC.

guys how to update the papago map ?
*
Download the latest X5SE map from Malfreemaps.com.

Follow the step 1 to 3.

Run the MFM map that you have downloaded.

Follow step 4.

I have posted it somewhere in Lowyat.net

Help anyone? sad.gif

Mostly likely there something not right with the system. I know my titanium backup always show I have only 36mb left. But gingerbread file management system says I have 97mb. When install and uninstall apps my 97mb will change but the titanium backup will always show 36mb even after installing additional apps.

Anyone has wifi issue? When I turn mine on, I can use it then I turn it off. Sometimes I cannot turn it back on unless I restart my phone. Anyone knows why?
*
One of your app is causing the problem when exiting. I had this problem after installing viber. After uninstalling it have not encounter this issue again. It can be other apps and not just viber

*
My ACE got no problem running Papago x5 on standard ROM. It works all the time. It may be due to your cm7 problem locking to satellite.

Long enough to make you give up using it.
Around 2-3 minutes under direct sunlight.
Not really sure for paid version though. smile.gif
*
Before upgraded to gingerbread was able to tweak ACE and locked into satellite under 1 minute. But with gingerbread can't tweak. Install and run Fasterfix to change the ntp server to asia. Now locked in takes about 2 to 3 minutes.

Paid version same. It ACE and gingerbread not allowing us to tweak the GPS. For Samsung Galaxy S there is a code or program call AngryGPS to tweak the GPS but not in ACE.

Not from there. Need to tweak somewhere can't remember. It is in one of the earlier SGA forum. Try searching in the 2nd thread.

If you can surf in public wifi hot spot then its is your office Access point setup configuration that is blocking your surfing. You may wish to reboot the wireless modem and see.
