Regarding warranty, should be registered using SIS E-Warranty. You can check front page about warranty details. And about the Premium Navigation, the seller should be register it with his email account. Ask him to check whether the code is still in his email acc where his used to register. |

yea I read and checked his imei number and it says warranty in Malaysia. only thing is, he doesnt have the receipt. so still can transfer warranty to my name?
the premium navigation thing, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900419 it says that once keyed in, it links to your imei number so you dont need to key in again after you reflash or root your phone. is that true? |

Transfer warranty to your name is possible. For details, you can ask SIS or refer to their website.the premium navigation thing, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900419 it says that once keyed in, it links to your imei number so you dont need to key in again after you reflash or root your phone. is that true? Ya, I forgot already that premium nav will link with the IMEI number. |

As I told you just now, ask the seller whether premium code number is still in his email or not. Because when he 1st time register it, HTC will send a confirmation email to him. For receipt, actually important also for purchase evidence. But like you said, you already check his warranty is valid in SIS E-Warranty right. And he also got stamped warranty card. So should be enough already. I also want to know, after you buy it, you want to root your phone or not ..? |

No no, no problem. It's just, no need to bother about warranty anymore. It will void the warranty. |

QUOTE(syuki @ Nov 19 2011, 12:08 AM) ^ fisherman10 yeap. hopefully the purchased unit will be fine and it'll be my first.Ya, possible to un-root and flash to stock rom back. I've got a LOT to learn mann. I remember how I spent hours and hours tweaking, patching the firmwares of my sony ericsson phone. I think I'm gonna ask a lot of silly questions soon. Anyway, I've seen there are many custom stuffs like cynogenmod, miui and etc. (what are these called again? OS, firmware or wad?) Is there a site where it list down all possible OSs and different features which they have? Coz like for first timer, how am I gonna decide which to try first? |

When the time you check, try open dialer and type this code ---> *#*#3626#*#* You can test everything there. Double check everything, i mean the unit. More info you can refer 1st page. For our DHD development, you can refer here. |

Is there a site where it list down all possible OSs and different features which they have? Coz like for first timer, how am I gonna decide which to try first? cynogenmod - it isn't a sense rom, so u won't have htc sense stuff in it, it's one of the most popular roms in android and their development is one of the fastest. they provide custom roms for most (almost all) of the android phones in the world MIUI - custom rom originally built by a china developer, it looks a lot like iOS UI, if u like iOS looks, this is the one to have. It's probably the 2nd most popular rom out there. Updates are very frequent and stable. Sense roms - there are A LOT of these for DHD because it's an HTC phone and Sense is htc's baby. It will look like stock rom (original). Some are ported from other devices such as the Sensation, with some extra tweaks and animations. I am currently using RCMix 3D Runny 3.3. If u like Sense and scrollable widgets (which is really cool, and sense provides tons of these), then u should flash a sense rom This post has been edited by stormlcc: Nov 19 2011, 12:33 AM |

QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Nov 19 2011, 12:37 AM) so basically there are 3 big categories? bro, that link u posted is refering custom rom for desire, ours are Desire HDI saw this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328 What am I looking at there? what does rooted stock rom mean? you can check all da available rom here rooted stock rom = custom rom...da developer develop a custom rom based on HTC stock rom but with lots of tweaks n mods to skin the rom to look nicer and oso to make the rom faster, smoother, more stable, n hv better battery life as wat bro stormlcc mention Cynogenmod is based on stock android - without any skins n looks identical to stock android MIUI - is a rom based on china developer that looks like iphone ios custom sense rom - rom that based on original stock rom from HTC with sense ui..developer port it over from either original DHD rom o rom from other new phones that release after DHD |
