@runemasterplan:

Honda use CVT developed in house...while Inspira/Lancer use Nissan's Jatco CVT. This CVT is used in all the NISSAN cars now, infact, it's the same model in Nissan Sylphy....so what do you think? Nissan is forerunner in CVT tech. But there is one persistent problem with CVT if you google the issue. There might be some problem of lost of power due to CVT overheat...but the case is not that many i suppose. Proton has actually improved the cooling design of the CVT in the original Lancer, but of course, it might not 100% guarantee eliminate the problem. But at least, we get an improved version of Lancer...haha (Lancer fanboy butthutt moar...).

Just remember to change CVT oil every 40k or less (Proton recommend 80k km....but most Lancer guys do it at around 40k...), better spend a little money and keep ur CVT healthy...and stand next to the mechanic when they change oil, make sure they put in the Mitsubishi Diaqueen CVTF oil and not some ATF oil!!!

Go to smaller SC, where you can stand next to mechanic. Big SC will probably not allow you to go behind into their workshop.

looks more like its not installed properly in its housing. Either that or the button punya gigi broke.
Care should be about the same, the most important part is to use the correct type of oil. Naturally both Jatco and Punch are forerunners for CVT right now, the questions is how much efficiency can they get from their CVT.
*
You meant fuel efficiency? I doubt it does a lot to improve your fc is your engine is underpower and car is heavy. Proton only dares claim 4% improvement in FC for the FLX in city drive...so in reality, maybe 2% only....anyway, 4%....not significant at all.

Wei, so tonite ffk or not? Who is coming? Daniel520 where? Ah ken where?
*
No. Proton did make the claims...improvement 4% city drive and 10% highway drive....read at Paultan i think.

both different.. Saga FLX CVT is a clutch CVT, jatco's is a torque converter cvt

Added on August 5, 2011, 5:03 pm

The most efficient CVT still goes to altis' CVT. smoother and better power delivery

Added on August 5, 2011, 5:04 pm

10% is significant.

400km + 10% = 440km smile.gif
*
Highway drive...city folks like me not affected...what is important is the start-stop jam FC. Even current BLM can achieve very good FC on highway....i dun think SAGA owners will complain if they can achieve same FC of highway in the city drive, with or without CVT.

get the highest rating one..either get the best or dont bother getting it at all. most of the time when your battery is flat, u'll need quite alot of power from the other battery.

ours 2.0 litre engine ya... smile.gif
*
Speaking of battery, the battery on my Savvy died about 2 weeks ago, dunno what happenned. Then have to ask people come and jump start it, the mechanic say the battery no problem, just need to drive the car to charge it back....and the battery ngam ngam 1 year and 1 week old only.....doh.gif

My original battery from Proton lasts 3 years....is it really a battery problem?? I'm scared it's a sign the battery is dying soon...the brand is 'CENTURY' and it's MF battery. The original Proton one also MF.

Any good recommended battery brand?

I think Inspira upgrade to R3 only same as the way Satria Neo upgrade to R3 confirm not 150k and confirm no turbo. Depends on how it looks like only mod =D. I will not be one of the white mouse, will chill and wait.

Between I was following the lala Vios really near it kept on accelerate and duwan to let me pass the fast lane. This is call GUAI LAN, if u dun understand Cantonese, in English it means arrogant.

Let's take the tax out from Vios and City. They are cheaper than Inspira. The last I heard, Vios cost around 600k baht in Thai. Let me arrogantly assume that 10 baht = RM 1. Vios and City are cheaper than Inspira, without tax.

Let me tell you: Yes I hate people who cucuk or tailgate other cars. It's GODDAMN DANGEROUS!! I basically near got involved in high speed accident on the highway because some satria driver thinks that they are better than those Vios drivers. The satria cucuk the vios and I am just next to that Vios driver. Maybe the road is slippery due to rain, that Vios swing a bit and nearly hit me.

So you wanna play cucuk? Please think of other drivers on the road.  Especially when there are families on the road, not just driver themselves.
And what it has to do with Myvi? The distinct advantage of Myvi is because it's small, and easier to park. Do you think Smart Fortwo is good? Can it cucuk other car? is the handling superb? No. too bad it isn;t.

All cars in Malaysia is highly inflated. And people do not by cars mainly on the performance. There are other factors, such as reliability, durability, second hand value. Maybe for you performance is your main criteria, but your taste might be other's cup of tea
*
Please dont talk about tax. Nothing is going to change. So what if the VIOS cost USD10 in US? You can buy it at that price? It don't matter what it cost overseas, unless you plan to leave Malaysia. So if you plan to hang around here, you just have to compare with LOCAL PRICES.

Why not Mitsu?  yawn.gif  Lucky not, if not half proton half mitsu feel a bit cacat.
U so fast need the special liquid? i think urs now still look like magic.  biggrin.gif

I saw 2 inspira at my hometown, they also change their front bumper and add spoiler, look quite nice. envy envy.  unsure.gif

Drive your Inspira lar, the faster to clock the better mah! You can also give your car a workout on the highway. I seriously suggest u drive the Inspira. Any problems you can also check (whistling sound etc). You can always do the 1K service in KL/PJ anyway.

A question from one who does not own Inspira:

Is the 5-Years free service including parts?

No. Only normal service stuff like engine oil, gasket etc. I don't think it even comes with CVT oil. Your parts spoilt claim warranty anyway.

IIRC CVT oil has 100K interval, right?
*
Proton states 80K, but i think for Lancer it's 40k?? Not really sure, but it would be better to change it every 40K or 2 years, whichever first...CVT gear is the most expensive part...you'll want to keep it in tip top condition.

what is the cost to change timing chain?

No need to change, probably cannot change also! Just keep the oil refreshed and it should be ok.

actually its quite easy to change, just take off the casing and unscrew the tensioner and the chain will snap out.
They already have markings on the cam shafts and the chain itself, so all u need to do is to match the markings.

Timing belt, we have to use marker to mark the current position otherwise it will go haywire tongue.gif
