Maybe you should start using a dictionary.

Do you understand the term gibberish ?

In what sense has any of my response been gibberish.

I dont even know how your analogy of starcraft fits into all this.

From personal attacks of responding directly to my posts, it somehow evolved into starcraft.

As I stated in one of my previous posts, I mentioned I did not like to be attacked personally. I will concede if my logic is indeed flawed.

But from my POV, I will not sit idle and watch as some idiot runs his mouth off at me or in this case, his keyboard.

How did you know I had VS installed...???  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

Try Eric (yes, a diff Eric from HID), I got his VS and grounding cable... RM250 for all, IINM...

As for the sunglasses holder, its actually for Persona and its rather small, can only fit slim and small sunglasses.... if you use Rayban Aviator or those huge Prada type ones, forget about it.... and you need to drill hole to fit the holder... so try it before you buy it...

Unless there is one specially for Inspira that I dont know about...

I think the CC5 is ok for normal inspired driving (yes, pun intended)...

But i find the sidewall flex too much, you can feel the tyres flexing when cornering hard and fast.... but overall as the tyres are of softer compound, it does grip well even if the flex is there, thus lesser change of "buang" or tail slipping...

Just wondering how long will it last my driving style....  brows.gif  brows.gif

Come this Fri, we may get infamous Rublik to grace us with his "++9HP above Inspira" car... as well as see others who have modded the car external and internal....

Three 2 Square, PJ Sect 13... either Paparich or OldTown... 930pm onwards....

I will let XCInspire or Dessimo post up the full address....

CORRECTION: U go there to fix something special....

Will go poison myself at Rainbow Padang Serai sometime during the Raya long week....  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

Bro poadster,

Won't the warranty be void if you install the VS? What is the effect you are getting from the VS?

Thanks

Again, the warranty issue is mainly dependent on the ppl in the SC, and how keen they are to help you... if they close one eye, they can help you claim irregardless what you mod...

Back to VS, all Eric does are add the VS (which are a whole bunch of capacitors to regulate the electrical current) to the battery, and add 5 thick cables to ground the car, which is supposed to help the flow of electrons across the car... These cables and the VS works in tandem by stabilizing the current coming out of the alternator and battery, and improve the flow by having more grounding cables (as opposed to only ONE thin wire as grounding)...

This have created noticeable brighter headlamps (if you are using the halogen bulbs - u cant see any diff with HID as the electrical current is already regulated by its ballast), slightly colder aircon, slightly better radio reception.... and to some, slightly better acceleration... BUT, pls bear in mind that these "slightly better" increments are so small that some dont even felt a thing...

I did it to get as I have amp and need it to boom my speakers, and to me RM250 to improve the voltage and grounding system is a good investment, and not too painful.... so to each his own, and installing it or not depends in your electrical requirements in the car...

Thanks for the reply, poadster.

FYI, while both share the same name and both specializes in Lancer accessories, Rainbow Kepong and Rainbow Penang are not related, they are enemies as they compete for the same clientele... also, Rainbow Penang prices are cheaper than Rainbow Kepong, and its worth a trip if you are getting more items...

Also, am wondering why its called Rainbow Penang when it should be Rainbow Kedah or Rainbow Kulim....  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

So far i am happy with the price but material of FRP is not a perfect sharp of bum. I still need paint shop to fix back the nose of bum a bit.

The happy thing is my car still can MIVEC kick even meter already touch 200km/h .
*
Hi, can you please explain the MIVEC kicking in? At what RPM does it kick in?

Thanks

Besides pickup, what are your other factors considering both versions? The 2.0 has more goodies inside for its price.

If you compare pick up between the 2 CVT, quite obvious the 2.0 has more pickup and torque to pull it, esp uphills. If you comare 1.8MT & 1.8CVT, then 1.8MT will win in pickup. Between 1.8MT & 2.0CVT is quite subjective but if CVT uses its paddle shift, it will be able to beat 1.8MT when 1.8MT engages 3/4th gear onwards. I own a 2.0 and I sat in a 1.8CVT before, I can feel the 1.8 needs to work harder (and a little louder) to pickup.

If the price is not a factor, get the 2.0.
*
I beg to differ. CVT seems slow at first, they seems to lack the sudden jolt that conventional gearbox represent. In actual fact, CVT will win in acceleration at the end, just that it's seems that it just accelerate smoothly, and slowly.

I tried 2.0 CVT, and to tell you the truth, it doesn;t have the sudden jolt or pickup feel to it. But when i floored the pedal, I looked at the speedometer as well (I know I know it's dangerous), but the increase of speed is damn good.

This is what I think. If you tried Honda City's CVT before, try to down shift at a speed. The CVT isn;t really design for hard use. But Inspira's CVT, when I tried to play hard with it, no jerk, smooth downshift from 5th gear to 2nd gear. Definitely a better CVT. Response, or the rubber effect, is not that obvious with Inspira, as compared to City's.

Hope this helps. Oh, there is one thing thou...the steering seems a little bit tight thou.

Yes, i realise. But when I tried, I didn;t use paddle shift....... so I just comment the one without using paddle shift tongue.gif

His avatar show punya not accurate because only 5km/h average. means just start car and walk abit only.

Can i add my comment? As we all know, the door sensor is actually a button that will be engaged when the door is closed. Some time, when you close the door, the it is not tightly shut, but the sensor will show that the door is already tightly closed. After some time or traveling, particularly after some uneven roads that causes some vibration, the sensor will disengage, causing the alarm to light up. This is also partly due to the the rubber that protects the button.

I hope that this might help, not just some ghost stories lol

Hi all,

I know that is it premature, but I just signed for the loan. A 2.0P Plum Red. Expected to get the car after Raya. Am doing research right now, but I couldn't get the information i was hoping to look for. I hope to get some insights from you guys.

1. Burn in - my previous cars recommends for a slow drive before 1000km service. But i read somewhere in the forum that hard driving actually gives a better performance in the future.....I am confused. Can anyone please verify this?

2. Anyone from the Pearl of Orient? Which SC is better/ which SC do you guys prefer to go?

3. Air filter - It seems that installing the air filter will increase the low end performance. Will any warranty for the car be void? How about the existing air filter? I'm a noob in car mods. Please spare me.

4. UR strut bar - It seems that there is some issue with this strut bar. The uneven mounting place in the car can cause the strut bar to crack prematurely. Anyone using other strut bar?

5. Anti roll bar - Some people recommends front strut bar, rear anti roll bar. Some recommends front and back for anti roll bar. Which is better?

6. Absorber - seems that the nyek nyek sound is caused by the sprint. Has proton rectified it already? When I test drive the car, there's no sound......

7. Gearbox - A member recommends to change the gearbox oil once the car is out. Reason is there is small metal particles that is inside the oil that can damage the CVT gearbox. Another member said the oil with silver material is purposely added. So, change or not to change?

Thanks

1. Burn in .. its a myth to run slow or run fast .. for me .. i dun care .. just dun drive in constant speed too much ..

2. No comment

3. No it wont void warranty. get a drop in so it remain stock

4. No comment

5. The car comes with front and rear anti roll bar already. if u want stiffer .. go for thicker 1, but ur comfort level will drop .

6. Nyek2 sound happen in the morning (cold) .. the anti roll bar rubber causing the sound.. Proton already have solution for it. Replacement of the bush. Not sure ur car already comes with it.

1. Burn in - It states in the user manual to drive it a varying speeds. However you know its not good to over redline it or maintain high speed for long period of time, eg 160 for 30 mins. There would be no real issue driving fast but sensibly during the 1K km period. Btw its Run in, not burn in as in PC terms..  smile.gif

2. Snowfish is from penang

3. Correct, better low n mid range. The use of replacement filter (those that fit into our existing air intake box) are ok as long as they give sufficient ait filtering ratings instead of straight flow like washable stainless steel. Use reputable brands like KNN or HKS. For warranty, you can always refit back original filter when doing any claims. However if you choose Open Pod type, then it will be too obvious. Original air filter does its job well, but if you want a little omph then...

4. I am using UR bar, so far so good. I think that was an isolated case but news widespread. The news that went around still point back to the same case.

5. When you say anti roll bar is the one at the bottom connecting the 2 ends of the suspension. Inspira is using thinner ones to give it more flex that will give "better" road holding characteristics vs lancer harder version that gives you less roll but tendency to under/oversteer or "loose tail" aka drift. In the end of the day it depends on your driving style. There is no right or wrong setting.

6. This would have been solved by now and installed in new batches of Inspira.

7. For the cvt oil, you can follow the service manual to change at 80K or follow lancer's interval to change at 40K. I think most of us will follow the 40K interval to change. There is no need to change at 1K, a little paranoid. Just remember to use the correct oil type, CVT, not ATF.. It will be stated in the manual.

Hope above explanation helps clear your doubts.

Thanks a lot for the kind replies.

XCInspire, do you use the aftermarket air filter?

I saw from some pictures that member cut and add grill, with snorkel to their air way...kinda heartache when i see that since my DIY skill is almost nonexistent, but their is nicely done. Plus, someone said that adding in the snorkel have some effect of engine not getting enough air due to vacuum in some places inside the engine...so anyone who did it, did you guys feel any thing wrong?

from front you can't see it involved in any cutting
[attachmentid=2415277]

left fog lamp cover insde,it cut a hole for DRL, cause left side is no hole originally compare to right side got hole.
[attachmentid=2415280]

I can't help but to ask: Won't water get into the gap between the DRL? If it fits nicely without any gap, then it should be ok, but you see there is a slight gap on top of the DRL. While it is ok for water to sip between the DRL and the bumper, I got an unease feeling about it.

never heard good engine oil will overkill for our engine.  biggrin.gif

LOL, no no not overkill our engine, but I meant, I heard that 1000 is enough. Won't 5000 mean more than enough? I can reason with 3000, but if anyone compared 3000 vs 5000, and there is a difference, then by all mean it is justified and good to go. If there isn;t any improvement at all........the extra money we throw in might be a waste.

Please bear in mind that I do not know anything about engine oil....I am just using my logic here, as the SC recommends 800, we upgrade it to 1000. If any of you guys can help me explain, that would be great.

Thanks
