My laptop didn't have much dust. The fins were quite clean actually when I opened the back to have a look.
Yeah, I was thinking of a partial refund (as I felt that he did spend his valuable time and effort to repair the laptop) and suggested that to him i.e. partial refund for a partially fixed laptop. Couldn't believe my eyes when he said he will do a full refund minus all postage fees but replace back the spoilt chip.....
I told him he is there to fix laptops and not the reverse!!!
Not too sure what repair was done as he didn't answer my queries when I asked what was done.
Oh well, just have to wait for him to reply here.
Note : Thanx to some forumers who pmed me regarding laptop repairs. Never knew such things like "reflow", temporary fixes, etc.....
Maybe I should ask for a full refund......

Hmmm.... but why is that so? Does that mean that it is still the GPU problem and was not properly fixed the first time?
Previous GPU had no such problem........
Re:ASUS notebook F9S, Jul 27 2011, 05:44 PM
can't be
we already change a new upgrade version chipset
the mainboard after repair can't compare with the new system.
now i trying running 3dmark see how 1st
for this small laptop will get heat fast is not because i didn't paste the cooling compound, is because the fan moving so slow. the heat sink cooper is transfer the heat but the fan moving slow and didn't really cooling down the system. you can see on other laptop if the system get hot the fan will be automatic move to max to cooling down the system. but this laptop won't do this. if you put you hand beside the heating area you just can feel a bit wind come out from the area. so when running 3D the temperature will go until 70++. after we modify the temperature just remain about 58-60 even running the test.
and for those saying that "reflow" that will not happen in my company, we main business is for the dealer almost each state have our dealer. we are doing long term business and not those hit and run.
For this case we already install the new chipset which is G86-631-A2 year 2010. you can ask around this forum those repair guy about this chipset.
sorry my english is poor
