Sorry, I'm noob about flashing stuff.. in above step you mentioned, using which software to do it? sorry ya...
*
That is Clockworkmod recovery ; depending on what rom you flash , most probably it comes with it. Or you can flash it separately - few popular ones - Chainfire, Speedmod, Ninphetamine etc . If tou don't know what is recoveryt - read page 1 post#5. You should read this page 1 before doing any flashing to avoid problems/or get stuck

What rom were you trying to flash. If is incomplete , ebven with it build inside the rom, most probably is unsuccessfully installed. Your best solution is to reflash the rom again using Odin. Put tour phone to download mode ( Vol down+home+ power) and use Odin to flash

Why so paranoid over this warranty issue ?? IF you are so worried, just maken sure you keep the receipt
I have been to Samsung Center 5 times and in all occasions need not show proof of warranty/no need even show receipt.
Same thing goes for all my previous HTC ; I just too lazy too followup with all these e-warranty, worrying about whether they sms me or email me back. I still can claim warranty including replace motherboard ( some more is AP set )
You guys forgot, nowadays everything is computerised

Why dont you just call the SENQ hotline or any of their retail shops near you : look it up at their website. I am very sure different retail outlets has different stock levels
Sometimes I am amazed at such questions - which is similar to asking which Maxis center has stock ??
I was at Senq 2 weeks ago in Seremban Jusco - there were several sets available than

Hi, did any one get Tegra2 processor i9100 here?
I suspect I got my S2 come with Tegra2 1.0GHz dual core processor rather than 1.2Ghz processor because when I installed the SetCPU it shows my processor model to be nViDia Tegra.
BTW, how to check the processor's model?
*
You can use the app QUICK SYSTEM INFO to check ; launch it /Basic Info/View PropertiesDevice -- see what is listed at CPU ?
Exynos are listed as " armeabi-v7a"

Glad to hear this sort of news from you Uncle Benny. Feels no more worried already. :-))

Actually many warranty claims are overblown and raised by paranoids. Many of my friends was surprised that I can claim warranty services/repairs for KL AP sets in Spore - and is FREE and NO NEED to show proof of purchase/receipt. This happen to my Galaxy S. I bought this at Lowyat ( one of the shop - AP set ). After 2 weeks there were some issues with the bootup and sometimes cannot boot. The shop took my set and ask me to fill up my details in the warranty card ( before that it was left blank).

The guy told me, he will try to do it within a week. A week later, called him and he told me KL service center dunno how to fix it and he has to send to Singapore. A week later, call him he said not sent yet to Singapore as they need to wait for accumulation of sufficient sets to send down to save costs. He said probably another 2 weeks. When time due, call him again - this time he said still in his shop. And this guy now tell me an amazing story . He now said because I have sign up the warranty card under my name - he cannot do it. I have to personally go to Singapore to do it. What crap ~!!! After arguing with him., I gave up and just ask him courier it back to me. I went over to Spore and got it fix within 2 hours and it was free. I need not show any proof of purchase and receipt. Infact when the technician open the set, he saw SIRIM sticker and immediately knew I bought in Msia
After this experience, the same phone, I sent in again 2 more times due to flash rom bricking - again it was reflash back for me free and again I need not show any proof of purchase

SGS II ( UK set ) - send in to to check and repair the connector - again FREE. And again need not show proof of purchase

Galaxy Tab ( AP set ) - rooted and flash with cook rom - sent in to KL Plaza Berjaya flash official Gingerbread rom - FREE service

HTC Touch Pro ( AP set, bought at Subang Square ) - with cook rom - sent in to check poor GPS ; motherboard replace FOC.

Apple ipod Touch - jailbreak failure , whole phone jam. Send in to Machines ( Lot 10) - reflash rom again FREE . Again need not show receipt

HTC/Dopd U1000 : brick phone while flashing, cannot bootup, phone dead. Unit bought AP in KL - I sent in to Spore Harbour Court - motherboard replace FOC. Somemore got warning never to flash phone again

I have quoted these experiences several times - and I always say be HONEST when you send in to claim; don't try to bluff your way. The technician is smarter than you and whatever you try to hide your root/flashing , they know all your tricks

erm, as

Hi LuffyPSP, I flashed it to this kernel
http://samsunggalaxys2review.org/samsung-g...drant-what-else
*
This is a very, very old kernel. Infact it was one of the first kernel attempting to overclock the chip
At the rate development is growing, do consider the newer kernels - Speedmod, Ninphetamine which allows over clocking. Also most 99% of the rom cooks prefer to work with the newer kernels too ; less headache to troubleshoot

is "Yes" 4G still have to use their phone w/o sim or they have the sim card version?
*
YES doesn't use " sim cards" which we are commonly associates with our phone telcos. It is all builtin on their USB dongle, huddle etc

YES is basically a wireless broadband option. You can refer tro www.yes.com.my for more info. Most people buy the HUddle which is just a wireless hotspot which allows up to 5 users connecting to it. Or buy the USB dongle - plug in to your USB port ( similar to those USB Huawei type modems)

It is really very fast ; when I am surfing on my SGS !I , I disable my 3G and connect to the YES Huddle. MY place which is new on YES and still poor coverage , even at the worst RED signal, I can get 1.5 to 3.0 Mbps . Compared to normal 3G/Edge my place averaging 0.7 to 1.0 Mbps. My house Steamyx wifi ranging 0.7 to 1.2 Mbps. When I am in KL, I can get download speeds minimum 3.0 to 9.0 , sometimes 10-11 Mbps too
I subscribed to the monthly RM 30 package as I don't use it heavily

That is very good, " ridiculously fast" . On what basis you are comparing with ?? Not with Symbian please. Most users reporting 3-4 hours is normal

Ahh.., now getting clearer. Thanks :-)
Does it mean ours is ARMv7 - Cortex A9..??
*
From Wikipedia : The ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore is a multicore processor providing up to 4 cache-coherent Cortex-A9 cores, each implementing the ARM v7 instruction set architecture

Several system-on-a-chips (SoC's) are implementing the Cortex-A9 core, including:
Apple A5
Nvidia Tegra 2 series (without NEON extensions)
Nvidia Tegra (Kal-El) series
Renesas EMMA Mobile/EV2
Samsung Exynos 4210[5]
ST Ericsson NovaThor U8500[6]
Texas Instruments OMAP4 processors

so for s2, we still can use "yes". just need to connect via usb to the 'yes' dongle?
*
If you want to use SGS2 with YES, get the HUDDLE . The USB dongle is meant to plug in notebook or PC, use as a modem. Either one, your SGS 2 will detect HUDDLE as a wireless hotspot and your notebook/PC as wireless hotspots .
Checkup YES website to understand more - it is self explanatory there

That means your clockwork mod recovery is not installed successfully. What rom are you now on ? Install the CWM separately
You seem to have many issues - did you read the basic guidelines - page 1 post#5 my tips

*
No it is safe ; only that more users complain about it on Win7 versus Windows XP - usual complains are failure to detect phone . I personally do not have any issues. I am even in a worse scenario - I do it on my Mac OSX desktop or my MacBook Air via VMWare Fusion running a starter edition of Windows 7. It took me some time troubleshooting to get it working perfectly

now a ....using kf1 rom
but flash to  nippo 2.0.5
other still same kf1
can i direct fly to litening 5.0? since i already rooted and flash nippo
*
Bro - hate to say this, you are among many others who I think never bother to read properly or doing speed reading. I cut n paste here Litening rom features:

02/08/2011 (Lite'ning Rom v5.0)
rebased on offical XXKG6
stock browser working @ full speed
speedmod kernel K1-T17

It is very clear : Litening rom will flash a XXKG6 based rom and comes with Speedmod kernel

So just go ahead and flash the tar file as PDA : Litening_Rom_v5-0.tar.md5

By now , after doing so much flashing you should already know the basics which is simply you can flash any kernel, any rom on top of any kernel, any rom. There is no rule that says you cannot or you need to flash a step by step upgrade. Example - my previous LItening , after flash I change the kernel to Chainfire 4 and I change the modem too to XXKG5

My latest rom - XXKG6 , I use XXKG5 modem and AngeloM Thunderbolt 12 kernel - so you see is a rojak mix

thx benny. the huddle seems like a portable (w/ its own battery) wifi modem. sounds interesting

how long can this last with a single charge?

is there similar things (portable wifi) for standard 3g sim card?
*
The HUDDLE main duisadvantage : VERY VERY HOT , just into an hour usage - you can feel it " burning " your palms. I figure is at lesast 50-55 degree Centigrade. Battery life is 5 hours maximum

Alternative - yes you can - those portable MIFI where you put in a 3G simcard, but what for ??? The download speeds is same or even worse than your phone. These only for those who use tablets which doesn't have 3G sim enabled cards and connect to it as a wifi hotspot. And these MIFI is bloody expensive RM 400 to RM700 Huawei brand

example : http://www.lelong.com.my/kx/mifi.htm

And i tried to download the usb driver from the link provided in the XDA forum but when i got to the Samsung page, nothing to click on for the download and also nothing popup for auto download... icon_question.gif
I did use the Kies via USB b4 so do i still need to download the usb driver or it's alrdy installed?
*
Refer page 1 post #3 Q21 : for the USB driver link

KIES is very buggy - it is unreliable . If it works, it is good. Sometimes it is just stubborn, won't work.

You ask for advise but you do not follow. Lastnite before I buzz off I quote:

" Really strange. If you really want it , than I suggest you flash first stock XXKG6 ( from intratech link or samfirmware) , follow by speedmod kernel than only Litening 5"

So did you follow ? How come you are now on KF1 and why do two types of rooting kernel - CF root and Ninpo ?? I advise you to do such as you are in an unique situation; so I was thinking you flash stock and Litening kernel should help
