3 hours extra on andida battery - I would just say dream on
Seriously you believe a cheap generic alternative can give such benefits??
If can have similar battery life or just 1 hour hour more is already very good
even premium mugen do not even give prorata more hours just based on the maH as specified
For s rm30 battery do not expect too much
Anyway the specification of 2000 is always s doubt. But cannot complain lah only rm30
Buy protons expect bmw performance? ?

Do you wear helmet on motorcycle or fasten seat belt in car?

use titanium backup for apps n data
Or use recovery to do s android backup

Do Read page 1 first to understand some basics

Hi All.. i still new to the flash/root. i'm currently on the stock rom.
i read that if we want to flash litening rom let say version 5.0, we can just flash it by using odin without rooting the sgs2 in the first place and it will root the device for us, am i right?
*
RIGHT. Flash Litening will auto root n install recovery

Added on August 3, 2011, 10:38 amDo i need to do a factory reset or clear/wipe the cache after flash to litening rom?
*
It is always a good practice to clear cache partition and at advanced - clear dalvik cache BEFORE you flash a new rom. Can say is compulsory

If you select clear data/factory reset - you will lose ALL your installed 3rd party apps/data/setting : Flashing Litening will preserve this , but if you wish you can select it , meaning you need to reinstall all your apps, dat etc

Just realized one good thing.

To switch my s2 to download mode, no need to press the 3 buttons.

Just press power button, select download, kaotim............smile.gif
*
That is because you are on a cooked rom which provided an extended power menu. Not all cook roms provide this function

You are still on stock rom without clockwork recovery ?? Than just use the stock recovery - Vol UP+HOME+POWER button simultaneously

Nope it doesn't work that way. Now my memo keeps FC again.
Any further advise?
*
Settings/Applications/manage applications - locate app : select clear data - this will remove all your data associated with Memo
Than go to Titanium Backup - and restore back app/data ( assuming you have backup this earlier on)

FC is usually due to 3rd party apps interference - do you have any 3rd party apps ( from ahem/warez sourcse ??) - if so , you can try uninstall those

Last resort - factory reset and restore back using Titanium

Hi all,

Can anyone teach me how to improve Wifi connection?

I'm having trouble connecting even with my home wifi.

Everytime its connected, it won't transfer data, have to on-off few times to work.

Anyone have the same problem?
*
You should test it too at other WiFi outlets to eliminate problem is due to phone
Did you reset your home wifi router and see whether any improvement

Hi, need to ask some question...
currently im on stock rom
Im planning to flash to litening custom rom using odin...
after i flash it to litening rom, if i want to send back for warranty, i just need to flash back to official firmware from http://www.samfirmware.com correct?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

by flashing back to the firmware, i can send back for warranty claim without letting samsung ppl know i had flash to custom rom?
Thanks
*
Not true ; but that is what most people will tell you so. If Samsung wants to know whether you have flash cook roms there are ways they can find out. This concept of flashing back stock rom to " cheat" Samsung is only a fallacy and makes one feel good about flashing hoping to make good later on when comes to claims

If you are really worried and paranoid about warranty , than I suggest you dont root and flash. If you do, be prepared you lose warranty claims and be mentally prepared to pay. If the technician do not bother to check - and provides you free warranty services , consider it a bonus. I have been talking about this many times - say I am lucky ( 5 times aleady) - I always got it done free even though my phones are rooted/flash with cook rom . I never even bother to unroot or flash back stock rom when I sent in my phones

You need to flash back stock firmware and reset your flash counter using a jig...

Read this article ; the JIG only makes you happy looking at it visually. Again, another " cheat" method which does not really work

thanks for replying...another question, if i flash to the newer official firmware, does it consider breaking warranty policy? just want to know before actually doing it.

after flashing litening rom through odin, i just insert the usb jig to remove the warning sign and flash count correct? to revert back to stock, just flash official firmware using odin and insert usb jig again right? thanks for helping
*
As long as you are updating your rom through KIES it is consider as official firmware upgrade. If you download any of those so called official rom ( eg from samfirmware) - it is NOT considered official - warranty is VOID
Samsung has never allow official roms to be downloaded and flash through Odin
The JIG - refer to my post#1190 above ; read it and you will understand why it is another fallacy

Thank you so much for trying so hard to help me to find a solution, Mr Benny. However, I'm still facing the same problem.
After restore data from TB, I totally can't go in Memo. After clearing data, can go in, but when I want to create a new memo, it FC again. For your info, I don't have ahem type of apps. TB also I paid for it.
I just wonder, could it be the difference between the memo in froyo/ SGS and in GB/SGS2 which render this issue.
Aih..........
*
You cannot share data and attempt to use Titanium Backup to restore between core system built -in apps between different phones. You can only do it on 3rd party apps

In regards to Andida 2000 mAh battery, i would say not worth it.
All due respect to the seller or buyers out there, after trying it, over a few cycles, the drain is marginally more then stock, and i find that stock battery is better in withstanding drains on the same same settings, widgets and rom.
*
It is only RM 30 - as long as it serves reasonably well as a spare battery , it is good enough. As posted earlier this morning, dont expect too much from such cheap generic batteries. But I can say Andida is one of those better cheap batteries - it can easily last a year unlike some cheaper ones , most 3-4 months will konk out

My question is do I need to install XXKG6 first before flashing Litening 5.0, OR can I flash straight without installing it?

Pls enlighten. Thanks!

NO need ; can flash direct. Your type of question has been asked I think more than 10 times in this thread alone. If I count the previous threads - it will even be more

*
Why 2.3 when there is 2.4 ?? Anyway I took down VR 2.4 just after half an hour on it - most disappointing. Anyway I think I am not fated to use VR - it always buggy and poor performance, causing freeze issues. It is the only rom so far I tested that gives me freeze issues. Other roms , never at all.. Alawys wanted to give it a chance but everytime just fails me

The kernel was tuned for battery saving rather than extreme performance. Wanted a fast one, get Speedmod, can get 4K on Batista.

*Quadrant is not a good benchmark btw. Another benchmark tools are CF-Bench or Antutu.
*
User lowyatlurker seems obsessed with quadrant. Just forget about it - the readings are not realistic. Especially the fact quadrant app not meant for dual core assessment. It is more meaningful to use it to asess changes within the same rom rather than comparing with other roms. Choosing roms based on quadrant scores is the worst decison

Why can't I flash KG3 or KG6 with Odin successfully. Every time it'll show FAIL....unable to read line 1234....(something like that). I didn't have trouble with flashing KG2 though. I had ticked Re-partition, auto reboot, F.reset time, filled up seperately PDA,PHONE,CSC, with their respective themes. Do I have to unroot first b4 flashing new rom, or being Europe firmware, have different configuration, or I miss out something? Please help thanks.
*
No need to unroot. Mine is also Europe set - nothing to do with country of origin
It could be your files are corruped. Or you can try reinstall your drivers again - sometimes due to this
No need to select repartition unless you are requested to do so. Most roms are packaged as a single tar file - looks like you are using samfirmware ?? If so, if you select repartition, make sure you have the right PIT file selected

You can use any generic USB-microUSB cable, no need samsung

It is weird to call it a software issue if some people don't have the problem at all when we are using the same firmware and software.
Thanks a lot for your feedback, from your picture it seems the pink spot is not as serious as mine, but I can't judge as we might have different
lightning condition, however for mine even medium light it still shows the pink spot (Sunlight rays coming in from window, white walls in shopping malls also have the problem).
