Just want to ask, what's the best way to import an iPad from Germany?

What's the best courier delivery to use?
What's the custom charges?
Can declare as gift? (cause this a present)

The only reason I see you would want to import from Germany is because you didn't pay for it and it's a gift. Reason being is even with VAT discount, I do not think it is any cheaper than what you are paying for in Malaysia.

Having said that, the person who will do the sending for you in Germany should know what is best method to send it. As for custom charges, I haven't a clue.

Any electrical good more than RM500 will be taxed. Unless it's hand carried and the customs are fooled.

If you prefer to import your iPad, you can also "import" it through the Apple Online Store. They ship in to Malaysia from abroad as well. smile.gif

Thanks for the information.
This is not a new unit. Hence the dilemma. Wonder if it is possible to declare as sample?

So someone from Germany will post it back to you is it? If you want to avoid being taxed maybe you can try to post it without the original iPad box. Then claim it as a gift. Should reduce the chances of being taxed this way. hmm.gif

Yes, they will be sending it from Germany. Declaring as a gift is a great idea. Thanks!

Custom agents tough to deal with. I wonder if they know how to categorize the iPad properly.
