OCBC is difficult to get especially new comer. annual fee is waived for 5 years for UOB one card
*
wait, if i'm not mistaken, this 5-years free annual fee is for UOB Preferred Platinum, not UOB ONE Platinum?

oh ok. dont know regarding this promo.

coz i'm using 'old' uob one plat. i get free for life w/o any conditions (got b&w).

uob pref plat already terminated in june.
actually also want to terminate this uob one, already called, then the next few days (early july) they add extra benefits, so call bank and cancel the termination, got free gst waiver if swipe 3 times, and still can use this 'old' card.

Did Maybank2kard capped it at rm50 per month?

Which one of below didn't capped?
Uob 1
Ocbc ti
Maybank2kard
*
all have max cashback per month.
uob max cashback is based on categories, while mbk2 and ocbc are combined.

only hlb essential is unlimited, but just 1% cashback.

QUOTE(Waachaaa @ Oct 13 2011, 03:38 PM)
Sorry im not very clear what does it mean by combined.
*
ocbc give 5% rebates for petrol, dining, groceries and bills, also 1% for others.
this rebates are combined for max rm50/month. not 5% max rm50 and 1% max rm50.
means, if u swipe rm5k on others category, u already max out the cashback.
another simple calculation is if u swipe rm600 for petrol + rm400 on bills then u already max the cashback quota.

same goes with maybankard 2 amex, 5% is combined for all 1st rm1k transaction on sat & sun.

while uob got cashback for petrol and groceries category (each rm30/month), the rest are unlimited.

QUOTE(Waachaaa @ Oct 13 2011, 03:38 PM)
Based on my below spending Average 3K per month
30% from Foods, 10%Petrol, 8% Telco, 10% Gym&Insurance, 42%Others.

Is it possible to go for 1 CC and rebate of RM150 per month?
If yes which will be the recommended?
*
if ur 1 CC is between UOB One, OCBC Titanium, or Maybankard 2 AMEX, then the answer is NO.

for rm3k/month spending, u should get all that 3 cards u ask. with proper planning, u can get cashback rm150/month from the 3 cards thumbup.gif

Added on October 13, 2011, 4:54 pmothers than those 3, 1 cc that can get rebate of rm150/month is hong leong essential, coz the card offer 1% unlimited (if, swipe rm15k/month) biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Waachaaa @ Oct 14 2011, 09:16 AM)
Thanks Erry.

I just want to clarify that UOB 1 Card only caps on petrol and groceries.
Meaning i might be able to get rebate of RM150 per month provided i swipe more on other categories.
*
welcome.

yes u can reach rm150/month with uob but for other category, u only get 0.3%

if petrol & groceries are enough for u with uob, then go for hlb essential, 1% unlimited.

or if u prefer prepaid (got money 1st then swipe), go for alliance debit plat, 1.5%, max rm90/month (rm6k).
no gst, annual (atm) fee rm12 only, but this card cannot use for online transaction.
additional note: to get this card, u need to deposit rm20k with alliance (but can withdraw later)

btw, for uob, petrol is good, but groceries just 2%.
while amex (weekend) and ocbc (anytime) give 5%.
if u shop for groceries only on weekend, better go for amex, coz u also got 5x points.

spend ± rm3k/month (as u stated before), better uob + amex.
use uob on weekdays and amex on weekend.

but, if u swipe at places not supporting amex, then either:
uob + hlb essential, or
uob + alliance plat debit (just must deposit money 1st la).

ok its not wrong for u just want to use uob and get rm150/month, but we recommend u to get cashback as high as u can.

this thread is about recommendation right? icon_rolleyes.gif

even use 2 credit card need to pay 2x gst, the cashback can still cover it rclxm9.gif

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: ANY

3. Card required for: bill for TNB, TM

4. Existing credit cards if any: OCBC Titanium

5. Looking at CC from: None

6. Others: Prefer online payment for TNB monthly bill RM2000 & TM, can get point / rebate for CC. My current OCBC Titatium rebate limit only cap at RM50.

Thanks in advance
*
rm2000 TNB, get MAYBANKARD 2 AMEX and signup for autopay.

confirm 10k points per month, which u can redeem rm50 voucher (parkson/mydin/sogo) or on-the-spot @ maybank center (rm50 caltex/petronas, rn10x5 carrefour, etc).

for TM, just use ur current OCBC Titanium (since TNB no longer pay with it).

haha, I guess you don't entertain client by playing golf with them and if you are the client, the other party would pay for your game anyway. Moreover no 18 holes golf club in Klang Valley allows paying customers to play on your own.

i never play golf with client or coz of biz. all this time just to have fun with fren laugh.gif

That means the only way to pay TNB bill with AMEX is with AutoPay ? But this doesn't guarantee the crediting is done on weekends on each month
*
yes only autopay.
and yes no weekend guarantee.

but in barlogteoh case, the tnb bill is rm2k/month. doesnt matter for weekend cashback coz already get 10k points which equal to rm50 redemption ~

i into this dilemma when choose my first card, after analysed Mr. Gen-X posts, my final conclusion based on my spending pattern would be

ocbc ti card (too ugly dont want it even good cash back)
maybank 2 platinum (salary not enuf , gold = ugly as platinum got 2 hole there dont know want to do what)

uob one card -chosen due to suits my need and nice card design

started using it kao kao instead of my public bank day2day card liao... been go spend alot in sushi king x2, guardian, maxis, digi, for just 5 days started use, walao.... this card really make me have a feeling spend more save more lol... but all is necessarily expenses la.. (i make myself believe it)

wonder they have uob one classic card anot? never see the design in internet.
*
u choose card bcoz of their design? sweat.gif

IC, 10k point = RM50 voucher, good deal also. AMEX can pay bill by using online banking?
*
actually to get rm50 voucher, the points is between 9,300 to 11,000. or like i mentioned before, can also redeem carrefour rm10x5 (rm10 = 2,000 points).

no, u cannot pay bill onl via amex sad.gif

QUOTE(barlogteoh @ Oct 24 2011, 03:36 PM)
ohhh.... too bad!!!
i don't like auto billing for such big amount of TNB bill, afraid they overcharge then messy to settle it. Can use the TNB kiosk machine to pay bill using Maybank AMEX?
*
again, no. tnb only accept visa & master. amex can only use with autopay sweat.gif

Thanks you very much for the clarification.
*
less?

i think, many people use amex (at least, here in lyn).
coz on weekend u get 5% on top of 5x points.

QUOTE(b0oDak_Ba1k @ Oct 24 2011, 05:33 PM)
is that mean that total rebate will be RM 50 or RM 50 each i.e. TNB 50, Astro 50 and so on...

my monthly expense on fuel is about 100~200, TNB <100, syabas as od now free, astro 130.
others mostly on dining, maybe around 300~500.
*
rm50 max for all categories sweat.gif

4. Existing credit cards if any: Direct Access Mastercard Plat, Amex Gold

6. Others: Wondering  cause, some places overseas, look at the direct access card and says, dont recognise bank wor... eventhough got Mastercard logo on it. But most of the time not much of an issue lah... If local banks got good deal i wont mind also

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: When travelling > 4k. Locally maybe >1k
