QUOTE(xproc @ Oct 25 2011, 04:43 PM)
lol then the cashback purely to offset the annual fee also not enough... plus gst...  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

then should i take ocbc or m2 gold, why i keep asking same question every day  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif ?
*
correct!

now,

if the place u went support amex, and u do ur shopping/groceries/petrol on weekend, then go for m2.
else, ocbc ti.

QUOTE(xproc @ Oct 25 2011, 05:07 PM)
today can swipe rm 300 for group lunch... but i only got uob one card... 0.3%, so i ask other to swipe it better... so i thinking of getting another card got more benefit for me to swipe...
*
if the place u eat support amex, u should apply maybankard2 amex, get 5x points, about 2.5% cashback (later when u redeem shopping voucher).

if not, then better ocbc, can get 1% (compare to maybankard 2 master/visa which only give 1 point)

but since u already have uob one card, i'm assuming ur petrol is with that card.

so for normal spending, get alliance debit plat mastercard. at least no gst brows.gif

QUOTE(PJusa @ Oct 26 2011, 04:18 PM)
Looking for a recommendation, currently holding (primarily) Alliance Plat for around 8 yrs.

1. Annual Income: RM100K and above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: All daily spending

4. Existing credit cards if any: Alliance Plat, IKEA Friends

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: -

6. Others: I am looking for the ideal card for generating MAS Enrich Miles

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: varies, 5-20k per month, usually around 80-100k p.a.
*
here the list, based on conversion rate ~

1. rhb travel money, min rm24k p.a, free 1st year then rm70.

rm1.75 = 1 enrich miles (for airline tickets, travel packages and duty-free purchases, where rm1 = 2 point)
rm3.5 = 1 enrich miles (for normal spending, where rm1 = 1 point)

the conversion rate is 1750 points = 500 enrich

2. american express. rm2.8 = 1 enrich miles

the conversion rate is 5600 mr = 1000 enrich miles, and amex swipe rm1 = 2 mr.

-----> 2a. gold credit card, min rm60k p.a, free for life.
-----> 2b. gold card, min rm48k p.a, free 3 years then rm238.
-----> 2c. plat credit card, min rm60k p.a, free 1st year then rm800.

3. cimb enrich master. rm6 = 1.5 enrich miles, oversea rm4 = 1.5 enrich miles.

-----> 4a. plat, min 100k p.a, free 1st year then rm388 (waived if spend rm100k/year @ 50% if rm50k/year).
-----> 4b. gold, min 60k p.a, free 1st year then rm168 (waived if spend rm50k/year).

4. citibank premiermiles visa. min rm60k p.a, free 1st year then rm600. rm3 = 0.73 enrich miles.

the conversion rate is 1 premiermiles = 0.73 enrich, and this card is rm3 = 1 premiermiles

Added on October 26, 2011, 5:15 pmbtw alliance conversion rate is normal (same with other bank), rm6 = 1 enrich miles (6000 = 1000).
while hlb rate is 7000 = 1000.

QUOTE(PJusa @ Oct 26 2011, 05:26 PM)
thanks,

been using alliance because i also get the cash back + the miles. since its mostly normal spending amex seems a good choice. does the maybank combo has the same conversion rate as the regular amex ?
*
QUOTE(hye @ Oct 26 2011, 05:36 PM)
The AMEX MBB2 provides 5x points per every RM1 and the conversion to Enrich is 6000 = 1000 Enrich. Plus there's the cash back feature on weekends.
*
welcome.

oh yeah no wonder i feel like missed something, its maybankard 2 amex! haha laugh.gif

btw, conversion rate for mbk2 is 7000 tp = 1000 enrich.
to get 7000 tp, must swipe rm1400, so the ratio is rm1.40 = 1 enrich thumbup.gif

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 26 2011, 08:07 PM)
An overview of the Top 3 in my opinion (Airline miles collection category),

1. The best is currently the MBB VI 4500 points = 1000 Enrich. Local spending RM1 = 2 points, overseas RM1 = 5 points
2. MBB WMC 5000 points = 1000 Enrich. Local spending RM1 = 1 point, overseas RM1 = 5 points
3. SCB VI (on your birthday month) 6000 points = 1000 Enrich. Overseas RM1 = 10 points.

I know I'm slightly off topic ... apologies. Since there's an opportunity to mention this ... just taking advantage.
*
my list is based on 100k p.a income as PJusa stated, both mbb card need rm240k p.a and scb for priority banking cust only notworthy.gif

if we get MMB2 then can pump on the amex though so that "problem" would be solved too.
*
yes u can use mbk2 amex at petrol station on weekend and get the 5% cashback too smile.gif

haha, guess you better read properly next time, he stated RM100K and above and we Seniors at Finance Section knows he's good at finance matters.
*
hehe ok. he should stated rm240k and above, easier brows.gif

QUOTE(PJusa @ Oct 26 2011, 11:42 PM)
i looked into MBB VI as well. 4500 points for 2250 RM spening is not bad to get 1000 miles, but it means i need to spend 2,25 per mile without any additional cash benefits (i dont golf!). so MBB2 amex seems to be better (a lot) if i want to maximise miles and (if possible) get some cashback. also i wont have to look at the amount i spend and can safely spread the money across cards where and when needed.

totally appreciate the input - you guys are ever so much more versed in the world of cards. i only used citibank, rhb and alliance so far. any other offers i usually just decline because additional cards are additional hassle...
*
go for mbk2 amex.

u just need no spend rm1400 to get 1000 enrich thumbup.gif

thanks.. i will try my luck applying for maybank 2 card.. that 2 in 1 card consists amex+visa, or amex+mastercard, or visa&mastercard? optional or maybank will decide for us?
*
maybank will give u, probably master. but mbk2 need rm30k/year. good luck notworthy.gif

QUOTE(jflcorp @ Nov 4 2011, 09:57 PM)
Then go for BSN Credit cards. They are quite easy to pay, many many branches.
*
bsn many2 branches? sweat.gif

no offence, but then, bsn cashback only 0.5% while maybankard 2 is 5% and uob also 5% (for petrol) notworthy.gif
