What is the normal RPM position when the engine just started?Below 1?

Added on July 26, 2011, 10:52 amWhich one should I go first?

-change sport spings

Tight budget cant change both at the same time.

Thanks

May I know the bulb brand and specs - including price please icon_rolleyes.gif

And will this void the warranty?

if under warmed and idle condition, RPM should around 750-800...

if under cold start, RPM will around 1200-1800rpm to warm up the engine faster...

For all new Myvi owner, this is something I noticed for ICE lovers, who would really treasure the trunk space. As we all know, Myvi don't really have a boot for storage.

Some people just like bass to blend into their music, without too much until boom boom boom....

Yet realize that a small 10" active sub, still do not provide enough bass that they like...

Saw this item from this fler shop...

These active subs, come with 2 x10" woofer. It way out-performs the small under-seat subs, yet do not take up the space of your boot, because it has to be installed face-down.
... not sure about the pricing, you guys better ask the shop owner.

I think the manufacture kind of understand the heartache of Myvi owner, the thing fit in the trunk space...Just nice~

Myvi, changing the sound would be a headache... You always need extra to buy the bracket or casing for new HU/new speakers.

Unless, you would just prefer to change the speakers and maintain it at the current position.

But for HU, the new casing will definitely be required.

Actually I am not a fan of changing spring, I would prefer just to change the absorber will do. A fan of performance more than look.

Would suggest, if you want to change spring, better change absorber together... At least your absorber can absorb the bouncing better.

Hi ,

1)As a myvi driver , is it true that installing voltage stabilizer and grounding cable helps to improve audio quality system only ?

2) i realize that driving myvi at 110km/h , steering will shake till reaches 120km/h , steering viration reduces . Any idea what's the problem with it ?

3)will there be any negative effect after decarbon myvi car engine ?

After launch will take you quite a long time as they would prioritised those that booked before the launch. If you booked before the launch, I think their promise is to deliver before the end of July smile.gif

Hi ,

I realize there's a noise coming from my car engine area (dun know whether it's engine or what )

When i accelerate the pedal , there's is no noise from the car engine area . When the car is not moving and i shifts to N gear or P gear or D gear , the noise sounds " nnggggoooorrrrrrr "

Is it possibly the timing belt issue ?

Good morning to all MyVi owners out there! smile.gif

I'm currently driving MyVi SE Manual 2010. When i'm driving and then hit the brake pedal, the car seem to "tersentak-sentak". Sorry I don't know the correct term LOL.....It like the braking process is not smooth. The car will like "terhenjut-henjut" one...

What are the possible causes of this problem?

Yeap! With the EPS, I could feel the steering going hard when on highspeed and soft when its on low speed. I must say the handling is better + so far haven't felt floaty yet after going up to speed of 120km/h . Steering doesn't vibrate too

If it is too bouncy, then most likely the absorbers are oil type.

Changing to gas type will get a firmer ride, but some do say harder and less comfort ride. Personal preference...

I'm using SACHS, got it from kobe10. Worth every penny.

yes sometimes can feel the steering shaking while braking...if under warranty that means they can replace the disc brake free of charges?
*
they wont replace to you normally, but they will trim for you, its free of charge.

but here has a member post before show how he talk with the sc so they replace whole braking system to him, it say something like he gonna go travel for long distance, then does the sc will make sure the braking system will work fine, and da sc must responsible for anything happen, at the end he get change whole set braking system.

you may check post before, forget when he post liao. hmm.gif

for high speed stability make sure ur tyre pressure is +10% of what is stated on the door sticker, and balancing+alignment must be cun cun.. cos small errors will be magnified at high speed

Guys, my car gives a sound if i turn the steering to the right (almost to the end). For example when making a U-turn. The sound is like a metal is being rubbed, not klok klok sound. This sound is constant like a whistle.

What problem is this ?

Hmm... I'm driving the Lagi Best Version , So far so good. No problem. They're using a bigger clippers compared to the old Myvi. But I heard some of them have some sound coming out when they brake. Something like a "kiii" sound. I'm not sure as I don't face any problem of it lol

i should quite common for most of the car as the slow & hard friction between pad and disc...

unless used the good disc and pad usually will reduce the brake sound, but still no 100% eliminate... smile.gif

Which service center do you normally send your car to? Perodua Service Centre or Authorised Service Centre? I'm wondering if there's any difference in terms of service. hmm.gif

Anyway, I didn't book mine in KL.
It is a faraway place, probably that's why it has stock.

Haha it me ! It a bit pricey tho for the 1.5cc transplant.

Coz engine lantai price you could have get it like +- 4K ! Depend on condition and part it came together. It basically just tow out and in as mounting are the same for the same mounting type. (There 3 different mounting in 3SZ-VE)

He super cheap endorsement @ RM100 ! (Kind like why so cheap)

So he took you original/trade in the engine ! If you are hard working enough you should have know how much a K3-VE would cost give and take minus 500~1K for some part missing due to used back for conversion.

PS: Info ! Don't keep looking at Passo/ Myvi ! K3-VE engine are avaliable in many car. Storia/YRV and bla bla bla !

4.5k included the labour charges.

The prob is they want me to trade in my engine hmm.gif If not i need to pay extra rm500.
I had asked my mechanic,he said this is nice engine, more power and better than YRV turbo transplant. Just the price quite high.

anyway im looking forward to purchase this. Most likely within this month, still need other ppl's opinion.

Myvi - Still consider stock ! Engine all stock from pully, intake, ekzos and basically untouch. Things that got change was lower APM performax, custom gear ratio, custom final drive, 15 inch, 11" & 10" brek, HID sport light and fiber hood ! Wakaka !

They where got scare ! Highway press till 190<

Haha ! Tyre quality degraded due to heat and wear. When you press hardly some time it is the ABS and sometimes is due to road surface or tyre. Verified this by @ cruzing speed of 90 try press it hard and bring it down to 60~70. Make sure nobody behind and the road was clear and also you was at the side lane with you signal light on. Try few times if it don't have vibrate then there is no warp.

If there is then there should have a small warp. Sometime during hard braking, when the ABS kick in and you tyre surface contact was not even you have this vibrate, or you tyre was due to change. Hard braking often will also cause the tyre to become uneven on certain surface due to wear and it cause steering vibrate during high speed can be corrected by wheel balancing and this also cause to minor brake vibrate. I know how to check when both you front wheel was off and the front was lifted but driving was the hard part as there are many factor.

Manual state 6 mth but it more advice able to get it polish once you get the car.

Reason is

When you buy a new car, the car was previously park outside and there is rain and dust and stuff. Before they actually deliver, all car are pre wash and hence load to container, lorry and which every transport it shall be send. During this time, the rain water especially have been residue and have a water mark stain on the pain it self. Waxing don't solve this problem and waxing is like adding a shinny surface on top of the paint to protect it but the old stain will be cover under this new wax.

If you want you car shinny all year, it is recommend to send it for wax or do it yourself every 1 mth or two.

How about old car, untaken care car ? Well when you send the car for polish, it basically remove a coating of the paint. Hence all stain and unevent color can be restore but some color need twice or trice polish to get it all shinny again. They they will basically add at least two new coating on top and some three coating. So after a month of wind trashing, rain repealing, fingerprint stamping and it time to add a new coating on top as it have been wear down during a month

Went for a test drive session for Saga FLX and MyVi just now for comparison, in terms of driving experience I somehow prefer the MyVi. Maybe too used with how a Japanese engine behaves as well (adopted from Vios and a first gen MyVi at home).

I wonder if there's an option to change the radio head unit to the one that comes with the Elegance version? I find the black trim/finishing really sleek. Anyone asked their SA before? Forgot to ask earlier and don't want to call the SA's handphone just for a petty matter. laugh.gif

I have the dashboard sound too although I'm not sure whether it's the same or not. What I usually do is I open and close the glove compartment and the sound is gone... temporary. So, I think the source should be around there.

It is like that bro, because you have lowered your ride with the absorber taking all the pressure. The sound should be due to the absorber hitting to the end only.

Actually it is nothing, just the sound only and your absorber will kong faster only. Depend on how you drive, 1 year should kill the absorber.

You should have paired it with another aftermarket absorber, then you will not feel what you are feeling now.
Since you are on GAB spring, then after this can match with GAB absorber.

BTW, I think your Myvi look very garang now. biggrin.gif I always fancy lowered ride, but my buttock cannot take it.

Performax if not mistaken, is short stroke. If short stroke, but you are not on sports spring, then the absorber will kong faster.

You should look for normal length absorber, maybe you can try SACHS~ Standard OEM replacement but gas filled.

Got 6" size speaker ah? 5.25" size also can change to 6.5", not a big deal though.

Sony is not that famous, mainly due to its product range looks cheap and very well known made in China. Not because they are made in China, but due to the low quality they are offering. Also Sony players have this common problem of not able to play pirated CD, guess you should have heard of it too.

Your door panel? Survey around la... If me, I sure go somewhere near my house and of course have to be a good one. Convenient ma.

You might want to try Howie, since he now got his "Raya Sales" thingy going on... have no idea what is on sale, but might be dropping by soon as well, I want to change my drivers.

actually, installin a 2way 2 replace ur front speakers is the cheapest n easiest solution 2 get better sound 4 myvi without doin any drillin or cuttin on ur door panels.. yes, installin a component will do much better in terms of sound, but then again, if ure like me not willin 2 'alter' ur myvi, then this is the best way..

I don't think ABS will affect the braking power since its function is to prevent lockups when you brake very hard or during emergency braking. One possible reason may be due to the brake pads or discs but I think it could also be how the brake pedal behaves. For a Vios, even stepping a little on the brake pedal is enough to brake slowly but for MyVi, stepping a little on the brake pedal seems to have no response for me. sweat.gif

Omg! Thats so right !
Thats why I'm quite sick of it sometimes. I need to go right in to brake slowly. Why cry.gif
No need vios, viva also like that le, stepping a little also can bring the whole car to a full stop. ~_~

i do feel the braking force are not constant thus causes the different in braking distance every time when step harder on the brake.

Don't really think so, I did try my sis' MyVi which is the first generation and recently I test drove the new MyVi Lagi Best and found that the brake pedal's behavior to be very similar. I think it's just due to the fact that you did try out other cars before and most cars don't really need to step the brake pedal so hard. Maybe you can consult with your foreman or SC to see if anything can be adjusted, I did test the new Saga FLX too and I found the brake pedal to be really hard and I need to use quite some force to step it in for the car to brake and the salesperson told me that it can be adjusted at the SC. hmm.gif

Myvi owners, may i ask what is the estimated repair cost to change bumper both ends, boot door and bonnet?

Consider Perodua service center and 3rd paty workshop?

Thanks.

Hi all, I have many questions in my mind right now. Hopefully someone can enlighten me about it.

I am currently driving MyVi SE Manual 2010 and mileage about 40000 km already. Ok, about last month, I noticed 2 things about my tyres, (1) my front tyres had worn out already and (2) there are a humming sound came from my back tyres. So I changed the front tyres to Continental and back tyres to Silverstone. The mechanic said the humming sound is came from the uneven tyres surface resulting from the old absorbers.

So I changed the both back absorbers with new one. 1 absorber cost RM 80 so both cost me RM160. But after that when I drove the car, it not smooth anymore. Feel really bumpy and "keras".

1. Is this bumpy and "keras" feeling is from my cheap absorbers or is it from the new tyres? (Maybe new tyres a bit hard? I don't know lol)
2. If it is from my absorbers, do you recommend me to change to new more branded and good quality absorbers or just use this first?
3. can I know the brand and price of decent absorbers currently in the market?
4. Best for me to change the absorbers (if recommended) at the Perodua Service Centre or just any workshop?
5. One more thing, when I going down a hill, when braking, the stearing will vibrate.. What are the possible causes? Is it the braking problem? Also when driving in high speed then braking, the car will "tersentak-sentak" one.

Hi all

Really sorry if this has been asked before but I can't seem to find any information anywhere. Anyways, does anyone know of the rim/wheel information of the stock 2011 MyVi EZi. I'm looking for information such as offset and rim width.

So far, the only thing I know is that it has 14 inch rims tongue.gif

My wife and I are planning to purchase this car soon. Naturally, I want to put some bling-bling rims on the car so any information would be much appreciated. Thanks

it normal for disc rotors like that. for ceramic pads, good enuf for me. wear n tears depend wif driving style

for braking solution changed to aftermarket disc rotor would be good enuf.
if u wanna change to aftermarket disc rotor it up to personal prefrence.

this is like a whole new reinforced body... for me.. it is solid enough...

don mind the door.. door is heavier with better soundproof.. the body is not bad.. i tot use hand can push it in easily.. but looks like it is quite hard also arr...

a quick knock on the body comparing it with my mum's 4 year old vios.. almost the same..

and YES ! the brake need to press a lot in.. need to get used to it.. very dangerous if u din brake early.. because when u found out that u press 40% d.. the car din really brake yet... LOL..

don mind the door.. door is heavier with better soundproof.. the body is not bad.. i tot use hand can push it in easily.. but looks like it is quite hard also arr...

a quick knock on the body comparing it with my mum's 4 year old vios.. almost the same..

and YES ! the brake need to press a lot in.. need to get used to it.. very dangerous if u din brake early.. because when u found out that u press 40% d.. the car din really brake yet... LOL..
*
That's great smile.gif I'm driving the Lagi Best version, I can't really compare it to the old version since I've not tried drivinng the old one before. Anyways, I found out that it's not as bad like how the forummers talk about the previous generation myvi like it's a sampan, floaty and bla bla @@

- for me, city drive avg 12km/L.... highway drive(90-110km/h speed) avg 16km/L.... my avg for this weekly basis is ~13.5km/L over 11 weeks... 50% highway 50% city drive...

- usually when i reach about ~380km then i will pump about ~RM53 then trip my meter A, B, and fuel consumption indicator. done weekly...

- safe fuel when drive consistent speed on highway about 80-110km/h (below 3k RPM)

- waste fuel when traffic jam, wait ppl with engine on, over 3k rpm and etc

- notice that when i sit inside car waiting for friend with engine on... when i turn my aircon temperature above 75%, the RPM will be higher and if i turn down to 50-60% then RPM will be lower... so i just on my air at 50-60% always.. sometimes even 30% only coz its freaking cold...

- oh ya i usually shift to N when i meet traffic light RED, except for small/quick traffic light.... im doing it 85%.. sometimes even jam...

that's what i experience... just for sharing...

anyway im at 3900km+ now... with all the way shell 95

Mine shows 12.7km/l too and it's still increasing. Just done my 1st service last saturday. New lagi best auto.

Btw, sorry for the noobish question, but when you want to accelerate the car (for example, to overtake other cars on highway), do you just press the pedal harder? There's no overdrive mode with the new myvi yea?

when u talk about rev up til 1K rpm, is not related to the petrol bt the Fuel actuator valve that screwed at the top right of the air filter case that act as vacuum, which operate when hot. My LB Myvi encounter same prob oso..

yes. that is the normal way or u called it the overdrive..

overdrive only drop 1 gear and maintain it until u re-press it again for the gear to shift up..

for the LB Myvi.. if ur driving around 80km/h.. u can actually drop until 2nd gear.. i tried today with sis wan myvi.. driving 80.. and when i press more.. drop 3rd.. and press summor.. straight jump to 2nd..

If it's still under warranty then go for the Perodua Service Centres. If it's not, It depends actually, I would recommend continue go to Perodua Service Centre unless you really got a mechanic that can be trusted and give you a reasonable price without cutting thhrough your throat

I think this problem has been fixed? Only the very 1st Myvi that came out had this problem, after that the facelift and Lagi Best didn't had this problem already so that people can't just open the bonnet so easily

the lady came and hand over the keys to me.. and told me what is wrong.. then din tell me got any payment need to do also.. i also just cabut lo.. icon_idea.gif laugh.gif

and i did notice the one u said earlier about pressing the pedal.. then got sound.. my sis wan car got that sound also when press the pedal.. but not that loud.. i think shud be the air filter sound..?? because i noticed when i start the engine in the morning.. let it warm up.. then i saja press the pedal.. can hear the 'choo choo' sound.. the air sucking in sound..

By right it's turquoise, sometimes a camera can't capture the 100% exact color especially from that angle. Turquoise should be a mixture of a bit of green and blue.

yes. that is the normal way or u called it the overdrive..

overdrive only drop 1 gear and maintain it until u re-press it again for the gear to shift up..

for the LB Myvi.. if ur driving around 80km/h.. u can actually drop until 2nd gear.. i tried today with sis wan myvi.. driving 80.. and when i press more.. drop 3rd.. and press summor.. straight jump to 2nd..
Owh, means i have to play around with the gear for speed boost? i thought it was only for when i go up hill. Thanks for the answer notworthy.gif

Btw, I just calculated my FC, and it turned out to be 13.5km/l (Myvi lagi best auto)
What i did was:
1. Fill it full tank
2. Trip
3. Drive around for 300km and more
4. Fill it full tank (and make note of the volume)

So, i just divided the mileage in 3. over the fuel volume in 4. to get the FC.
13.5km/l is not bad at all, but i drive mostly on highways, so YMMV. And this is onli after my 1st service. Hope it'll get better after the 5000km service drool.gif

Lol. I'm a scientist. Calculating stuff is my thing. Haha
Anyway, just wanted to compare calculation and the indicator. Mine shows 12.6km/l on average, so the indicator actually shows less. I dunno how the indicator calculates the FC though

Can the tire be patched without changing a new tire?? and which part probably is leaking? its somewhere at front left tire. Damn i hate my living area.

Hmm I don't think it's normal @@ Normally when you start your car , It will normally be 1rpm if the weather is hot already and around 1.5rpm if it's during morning / after raining where the weather is cold.

only qualm i find is the front doors arm rests, and the back seatbelt hanging from the top. Weird.

Haha that's what my mum said too about the back seatbelt hanging weird when she drove my car. But I think it would be better than just putting the sit belt on your waist.

wowo ur fc avg is very high. mine is only 10.6 max when im at about 1.3k already... sigh. what happened...

higher is better...
for his case, his car use 1 litre of petrol can hit 17.5km during that particular speed...
for your case, ur car use 1 litre of petrol can hit 10.6km...

anyway, those FC are just a references only to advise u all for lighten u right foot...
the lighter of ur foot, the better (higher) FC u can get...
if ur car started without moving, the FC will getting poor due spent petrol for stationary condition...
but still just a references only and cant use as actual reading...

for overall FC of ur car, pump full tank every time to calculate the petrol pumped while traveled certain distance...
this method more accurate than "estimation" from our car...

yaya 17.5km/L (the last pic) is just direct 80kmph drive. however 14.1km/L (first 3 pic) is over ~360km drive.. my weekly average..

ya lighten your food on the accelerate pedal. The consequences is slow pickup speed. Just take your time to accelerate (slightly step the accelerate pedal and hold it there, not step deeper), unless you are some situation where u r forced to accelerate more...

Press and hold bluetooth button until beep (12seconds +), now use your hp to search for perodua bluetooth device, the default pass is 0000.

this is what i get from driving just now.. from penang island back to mainland.. using bridge..slowly step on the pedal.. very the slow.. dunno why tonight drivers are slow on the bridge.. all like driving less than 80km/h.. i was on the 3rd lane with 80-90km/h.. and no car overtake also.. all cruising.. haha

fetching 4 passengers.. step as light as possible.. but not maintain it.. keep let go then press bit by bit.. manage to get 11.1km/L until reach back home..

and mileage can see in the meter.. 400km++.. havent service yet..

This is due to they overpriced the 1.3L Myvi which is 47-57k range so if decrease the price alot for 1.5L Myvi, those that bought the 1.3L would be butthurt lol

I'm sure there's stock left behind for the old Myvi but they are not allowed to sell it unless you know any insiders from Perodua lol. Anyways, I actually thought the same way as your sister but in the end I just end up buying the new Myvi lagi best with the Elegance Bodykit installed in the Premium variant. It looks much nicer now smile.gif

FYI, I havent send it for service yet although it's 1 month already. I'm waiting to wait for it to reach 1000KM lol

what the SA said might be true.. and if u see properly in the ads, it says "DUIT RAYA UP TO RM2300" u might get RM1 only also.. or not getting at all...

and come to think logically of it... do u think a new range of Car will get direct discount/rebate so fast? if it happen also not so soon... i suppose

@louis. Save or eat petrol, I'm not really sure. Since it gives you better pickup. So your foot tends to be much heavier? biggrin.gif

I just got my new Myvi LB - EZ, I'm new driver and this is my first car. I really don't know much about cars so need opinions from sifus... Few including myself think the car is a bit bumpy, does it have anything to do with the steel rim/tyres? Is there anyway I can improve it with lesser cost max. 1k?

I think it is something got to do with the Spring

Do you mean I should try replace the spring? Is it good to alter the original setting?

I know which part u are talking about. The rear part (back light). What i feel is, as long u add a spoiler (Elegance type) it would look good enough while the original premium spoiler / no spoiler, it makes the car look ugly from the back view. The front is awesome. I like it very much. No offense to anyone, just telling what i feel smile.gif
