Not really racing pads. Just high performance brake pads will do. Some will recommend Bendix MKT, but I stand & swear my life by Rapid Stop RS 550'C brake pads. Doesn't need warming up for full braking performance, bites like a german shepherd. wink.gif

CC5 is nice?? i heard some batch of PE get it as stock?? is it true??yah..tats wat i just said, the rim will be after my new tyre botak, i saved up enough money i get the rim 2gether wit S-drive or later better tyre.
ur muffler not big and ugly like ah beng lah. hahahaha~~quite ok for me. wat bout the sound ah??
hmm.gif  i still dun like the idea of my car bumper kena potong. bigger means better XD
cam ayam. lol...difference with branded is??
optiseal. maybe i do it after i get my budget XD lots of things coming. service my car, change tyre, change filter, change SP, change extractor, change this, change that. so no money edi. hahahaha~~
damn funny sia...
hmm...it edi look nice on the pic. hahaha~~my taste.
actually wats a coil mat??
tat is why when a pro driving a car without abs it is still with abs. hahahaha~~like mentioned in initial d, a computer braking can never beat a person self braking. if a person never learn how hard it is to brake without abs, he will never be able to fully utilize the greatness of abs XD
why u din try to chase XD
the engine hard to start is the symptom?? any other symptom??
my god. lagi ada R3 ghost kah?? wat if one day u saw ralliart ghost or other XD
Rapid stop by maddriver?? wat bout the ceramic brake mentioned in the 1st page sold by kelvin??

Not recommended to get racing pads if u are not used to it.. Racing pads have to warm up first b4 they provide good braking, and it will makan ur disc really fast..
Hmmm I will record and post the sound tmr lah.. Today not free.. Tmr if i get the pc fair then next week u remind me again on monday.

rclxub.gif u interest to see white pump black ass??
*
I think it's impossible that they'll pair it with 1.6L Campro. Because most testing & trials are made with 1.3L Campro.

And even if they do offer 1.6 with CVT, I'm guessing they most likely are going to release it in the PE before the Persona R. Just imagine, 1.6 with CVT, ABS & EBD in Saga for RM 50k, their Persona sales sure gone wan.

*
Yea.. So there are still plus & minus with the PE.. If FLX came out with 1.6 & CVT, there'll be almost totally no reason for ppl to get PE d..At least now the PE shows a better package in terms of power, space & interior refinement.. Saga inside really plastic, dun need say.. But as plastic as it is still not as plastic as Viva/Myvi (old)..

so is it nice the CC5?? lol...later at nite driving also can see a R3 ghost use persona to tapau M3.
but the buntut sudah gone case. somemore the trunk lid is carbon fiber sticker XD
damn smooth lor. no kick. suitable for uncles. uncles like smooth driving. but 14sec for a 1.3 is not bad.
hmm...maybe not also. if they come out, no one is getting PE.
hmm...maybe they will come out with new engine for persona. A 1.8 with CVT. wow!! hahahaha~~then the price will be 60k.
tat is CVT punya characteristic?? it means that inspira also like tat??
*
Yea Inspira also like that.. CC5 quite nice.. Comfortable..

QUOTE(Cavino @ Jul 28 2011, 01:20 PM)
Youngster, youngster. Once you're get a bit older and used to gearless CVT drive, any other type of tranny you'll feel very rough.

Although with CVT you might not get the kick at lower RPM acceleration, once it hit the mid to high range, it will be other way around, auto tranny (at least our 4 speed wan) will scream like there's no tomorrow and yet accelerate like a turtle while CVT makes little noise but accelerate like a jet albeit minus the suddent g force pullback..which one will give more kick for a high-speeder....go figure.

Years ago, I sat in an Audi with CVT tranny....believe me, no kick my ass...its all abt the what type of vehicle the tranny is mated with along with what horse powers that comes with it.
*
It's smooth, yes.. And the advantage is at mid to high speed.. U wanna get to the top speed quick, CVT is the way to go..

Yet if u realise, many of those racer-wannabes mod their cars for acceleration, not top speed.. It's always about how quick u get from 0 - 100, not about how high is ur top speed.. Try to think about it.. How often do u get to run at top speed? And even if u do get the chance to speed, do u have the balls to do it? wink.gif Yes, I would love to get CVT in a car, but only if it's a luxury car where comfort is concerned.. CVT is not for everyone. Some prefer the old stickshifting (like me) where u feel more connected and play a part in moving the car..

QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Jul 28 2011, 01:22 PM)
CVT gearbox is like that... very smooth when changing gear... until no feel at all...
*
The proper way to describe it would be that the CVT changes ratio instead of gear as u accelerate..

If normal service, should be 60 minutes for labor is free. But then the labour is already free isn't it?

Yesterday, I've been looking at my silver car....look pretty good with the stock rim, did not notice that the stock rims is quite nice...

Then I take to car wash (3 weeks no wash liao)....then after clean clean, the car still look good but something is missing, somehow does not have the cool factor of earlier before wash look. Then it hit me, the rim !!!!.....its shiny again while earlier its already greyish with lots of brake dust. If see from near, a bit dirty, but when see from a few meters away, we got ourself a cool grey rims that somehow match with the genetic silver color.

Irony, here I'm complaining abt the massive amt of brake dust that I deemed the worst among all cars I owned before...and yet its the dust that somehow makes it looks better...from afar.
*

cannot compare lah. its an audi. ppl are always comparing proton with all those expensive car. lets say proton do use their money to produce those quality product. quality, performance, handling everything better than audi. price same as audi. which will people buy?? answer is the audi.
hmm...hahahaha~~we will see wat i get when i change the tyre.
yup. acceleration is much more important than top speed.
*
Cannot say like that also.. Bcos CVT basically behaves the same for all CVT cars, unlike AT that differs from car to car. If Proton could ever produce a car with all the traits better than an Audi, all it takes is just time, time for ppl to realise it. Of course, it had to be reliable too or else halfway through it's product life & it faces problems ppl sure bash Proton kaw kaw wan.

Let us see how reliable and durable this CVT is. I think last time City CVT so expensive coz its their own design CVT for City, not those mass market and time-tested CVTs used by Nissan, etc, thats one key reason for even using wrong ATF for it at the beginning. So little in production, so higher production cost.

Don't know the source for proton wan...time tested or not.
*
The CVT that Proton installed in Saga FLX is made by Punch Powertrain.. A German company.. Punch VT2 model to be exact. The same model used in Kias (I assume the Forte).

Hi fellow Persona members.

I'm a big fan of Persona and thinking of changing my 1stGen BLM for Persona.
But I'm isn't really sure bout which type of Persona I should really get. Or will it be better to wait for Persona R?
Hope fellow Persona members here can enlighten me.

Thanks in advance
*
Ur dilemma here is, since u're such a big fan of Persona, why bother waiting? I'm sure u love the Persona not only the name, but the car in general. The only problem is, when the Persona R comes out, will u still like it? Maybe the shape doesnt appeal that much to u. But at the same time u should think whether u'll regret buying the Persona now, because if the Persona R is released in the future there'll be a high possibility of it being turbocharged with CVT.

What I suggest to u is, take ur time, sit down & think. Try to think of other alternatives as well. When the Persona R is released, go & be the first to look at it. If u dun like it, u can always still buy PE (ask for remaining stock), and who knows u probably will be able to get a huge discount for it. Just like how when I was buying PE I was considering Waja as well, but because there was a rumour that Waja will be replaced by Inspira, I held back. Then suddenly news came in that the Inspira will be priced at 80k or so. Then I gave up & went for PE instead, because it's slightly cheaper than Waja. After the Inspira came out, Waja price dropped due to Proton clearing their stock from their warehouse, the Waja CPS 1.6 price went as low as RM 44k for a new one.

The choice is up to u, but if I were u I'd wait & see. Who knows, Proton might come out with a final facelift for the PE with CVT before launching the Persona R.

@Zeng,

Today few weird shits (some of them quite good) happened to me.

1. Woke up in the morning, went outside my house, saw that there's a film shooting outside. None of the actors/actresses were appealing to me, so I just went on & continued my day.

2. Teaching a student today, he was my last student. He did almost the entire exercise wrongly, so I had to ask him to do corrections to see how much he understand the question. He did the correction once, & did it wrong again. Then when I was about to teach him how to do it, angin tarak ribut tarak suddenly he just started crying. Sit there, wouldnt say a thing, wouldnt do anything I said. So I had to let him go back.

3. Came back just now, the film shooting is still going on, but this time because it's dark, they used those big spotlights to illuminate the entire area near the guardhouse. At first I thought there's nothing interesting to see, then as I drove past the guardhouse slowly (there was a roadbump), I saw one of the NL actress behind the guardhouse. Bloody pretty, hot & cute wei!!! In that baju kurung.. Omg.. wub.gif wub.gif

Ok sekian terima kasih. shakehead.gif

If wanted to take family all the time, is Persona R suitable? It might be tuned to be more sporty, suitable for family?
*
Well.. Just because it's coming with a turbocharged engine doesnt mean it wouldn't be suitable for family rite? I think almost any 4 door sedan would be a good family car. I still think the Persona R will be a family oriented car.. I think. laugh.gif Persona is a good value for money for small families. If Proton is stupid enough to not see this, I wont be surprised if they go bankrupt by 2013. But then, there's always the G-factor, no? smile.gif

A reputation of being the first to offer leading technologies for very affordable car beating out previous record owner...Honda City at least in Malaysia.

Probably also wanted Saga to be the leading FC saving car...since they don't have mass market hybrid yet. So this is the best it can do. If they are truly using a time-tested CVT that was used by Forte (I doubt so, might be a lower scale version), I guess, it might work after all. Now only see if they can smoothly mate it reliably with campro iafm...
*
Nah, it's the VT2 for both Saga & Forte. VT3 is for cars with higher power, VT4 is for 4WD cars.. Punch's product lineup only consist of these 3 models..

But after viewing the chart, Saga FC & PE not much difference also at 120 KM/h.. doh.gif Compared to my PE, that is.. Mine still doing roughly 7.8L/100 KMs.. Saga doing 7.9..
