Read the specs properly, its recommended specs, not minimum. Also, the game is very unoptimised till now.

QUOTE(dan82 @ Jul 29 2011, 03:15 PM) I'm using i3 2100 too bro, and it runs BC2 damn fine. B4 this i was using a phenom II x3 720BE and cant even get close to teh performance of 2100 unless i unlock it to quad. The problem is some games does benefit from hyper threading just like Crysis 2 , which ppl who own an i5 540 can play the game smoothly. I'm sticking with the 2100 for now and see how it runs come BF3. If not up to par , then no choice but to go Quad. Another hole in the wallet. for me that hole gonna stay long after that hahaa not bf3 minded when buying new rig so go for i3 2100 RM150 more i can get i5 2400 such a different

at least can confirm my rig (read my signature) runs BF3 at 1920x1080 High Settings (highest in Alpha Trial) at fps 60-80, average 70, with single 5870, smooooooth Crossfire does not scale well, unplayable instable low fps below 32, it just an alpha trial or beta, so I hope gpu manufacturers make it better multi gpu support These are for reference only until the full game release, This post has been edited by squall0833: Jul 31 2011, 06:35 PM

However, I do other things besides gaming so the extra RAM really helps alot in multi tasking.

yeap i7 2600K, it's not my intention 12GB though, as the price of 2x4GB cheap and too cheap to let go my 2x2GB, so... mix it up, and got this. well, the more the better, it's not like the machine will slowing down...

I found benchmark for my laptop. People manage to run it on high with 1080p with 20 to 30 fps. That's not bad for a rather weak quad.
Until they unlock the full destruction. :/

I doubt the recommended specs will be that high, they'll be segmenting out a fair share of the gamer population. That said, what I need is a RAM upgrade. Gonna cost me £40 for that. *sigh*
