QUOTE(Luftwacko @ Jul 23 2011, 01:05 AM) 6870 and 5850 uses the same graphic board. Despite the benchmark result, 5850 perform better in games than 6870. It is only 6950 onwards that they started using a new board to house the graphic processing power.

actually the best way is to set a budget on how much you are willing to spend on a graphic card then pick the best of the lot. Check PSU, PCIe slot and whether ur casing have enough space for it :3

What graphic card and mother board should i get to support the upcoming games like BF3 and so on? and what budget should i expect?please help I'm thinking between 3k to 2.5k. The specs u probably have to decide on whether u want a Intel system or an AMD instead. Both are just as good. From there only other stuff like mobo and Graphic card choices will come in

I think atm you don't need 6 core CPUs but better game optimization for Quads or dual cores

QUOTE(nikholai @ Jul 27 2011, 09:50 AM) if i were to get i5 2500, it will cost me more than rm600, maybe rm1000.... should be less than 1k even with the "K" variant. Just need to double check if your mobo can support or not

QUOTE(Neo|ofGeo @ Jul 29 2011, 08:15 PM) you will never more then 4 cores for gaming until maybe next year(i hope) same facts as doesnt need more then 4gb for gaming purpose but there i am going to buy 64-bits Windows 7 OS tommorow LOLWell, you probably right if you solely does nothing but gaming. However, I do other things besides gaming so the extra RAM really helps alot in multi tasking.

I did say 1st choice. Focus on the CPU 1st, you can get better(and cheaper) GCs in future
