I bought a GE620DX from lowyat on the 29th of June 2012. When I tried to register the product on MSI's official website on the 30th of June 2012, it said there that the serial number has been registered. What does this mean? Does it mean that it is a refurbished unit? Can anyone please help me? MSI-MY? Sanko? sad.gif

Reapply thermal paste and clean the HSF so it wont reach 93c. ph34r.gif

applying thermal paste doesn't void warranty?

the unit is less than a month old so the hsf is clean

What will happen when i click EJECT after i converted it ah? TQ

The china brand one. someone posted ealier. Its all standar size like the ODD. Just the outisde cover, u have to dismantle from the Original ODD and put into the caddy.

Nothing will happen. lol.. It wont pop out of anything.

I bought it from a reseller in Lowyat Plaza. I asked MSI-MY about it and it said it's an authorized reseller. I personally don't think it's a refurbished unit. Is there any possibility that someone actually registered my laptop by mistake? I'm still waiting for a reply from MSI-MY but it seems it's not too bothered with my situation. Am I eligible to request for a refund or one-to-one exchange?

EDIT: Apparently, MSI-MY doesn't work on weekends. He just pm-ed me and asked about the details. Told me he will investigate it. Thanks.

Well I guess you'll just have to wait for MSI-MY to get it investigated then.

If the laptops doesnt cause any problem. I think the registration stuffs can be changed easily.

hi all owners of MSI GE620DX (or other MSI models),

I just came back from Lowyat plaza and chanced upon two companies selling MSI laptops. I haven't seen one before and got attracted by its specs and price.

When i come back home now, I just try to search the net for some comment/reviews, I found this site that gives very bad remarks of it:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834152280

Will you share your experience? Is it a worthy purchase?

Hi,

1. Can anyone tell his temperatures reported by AIDA64 in idle and if is using an external cooler or not ?

Motherboard:
CPU:
CPU Package:
CPU IA Cores:
CPU GT Cores:
CPU 1:
CPU 2:
PCH Diode:
GPU:
Hdd:

2. And also why power led sometime when I'm working on the laptop is looping from blue to orange ?

3. Lately I've noticed that when I'm closing the lid, it's going to sleep, but the vents stay open. If I press Fn+F12 is sleeping with vents closed. I think it may be a windows installation related issue, but if someone encountered as well please report it.

4. Between CPU/GPU and his cooler is used thermal paste or thermal pads ?

Thanks

There are a few variants of MSI GE620DX. Newegg is an American website so the complaints are not reflective of Malaysian models. I've read the reviews on that site and most complaints were due to faulty RAM, which is covered under the guarantee.

My battery now only holds about 38% of its designed capacity and got a wear level of 62%, thus it ran out of power very much sooner. Even got an error notification saying that it might require replacement. Had performed calibration on the battery but it's the same. Wondering if battery is covered in the warranty & off not, how much would a replacement battery costs?

Why the software updates for Malaysia so slow. Still 2011 one.
Seen other version already moved to latest Nov 2012.. including bios.

ps: No option to disable one of the graphic in bios as well, which really sucks for Arch Linux user like me.
