Planning to buy Diablo 3, but currently got no internet at home, sucks cannot play single player. Any recommendation for a good RPG while I wait ? Skyrim seems nice

Edit: anyone kind enough to buy this HDD ODD caddy and do a review? sweat.gif

Is the ODD slot hot-swappable like USB drive?

regarding the swap HDD ODD caddy, I pm-ed MSI-MY about it. He replied

"bracket needed, but unfortunately MSI didnt provided the bracket
to swap the ODD to HDD. 3rd party bracket after will voided the warranty."

about that FPS~
In diablo 3 you can use the build in FPS counter also (CTRL+R) about 21~28FPS all Full blast at Full screen resolution hahah.. play after one hour scare ready cause reach 98C on GPU LOL... go back to medium mode.. window mode LOL

98C? dafakk shocking.gif

did you use cooler? 98C is damn high

mine is hot too when gaming, highest was 94C (according to MSI afterburner), or 85C according to HWinfo64.

I dunno which one is correct icon_question.gif

GS don't have? try go lowyat plaza and search there.
i like u2/u3 because of the portability of the fan to move around. some fans just cannot shoot at the right position.

What are your CPU and GPU temps with cooler, and what software do you use to measure the temps?

when gaming, my GPU temp is constantly 93C.

damn high temp. so far i have not experience issues, but i'm afraid the gpu lifespan will be shortened considerably.

you guys got crazy gpu temp too?

is there a way to disable GPU clock throttle? every time the GPU reaches 93C, it halves the clock speed.

Reapply thermal paste and clean the HSF so it wont reach 93c. ph34r.gif

applying thermal paste doesn't void warranty?

the unit is less than a month old so the hsf is clean

hi all owners of MSI GE620DX (or other MSI models),

I just came back from Lowyat plaza and chanced upon two companies selling MSI laptops. I haven't seen one before and got attracted by its specs and price.

When i come back home now, I just try to search the net for some comment/reviews, I found this site that gives very bad remarks of it:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834152280

Will you share your experience? Is it a worthy purchase?

There are a few variants of MSI GE620DX. Newegg is an American website so the complaints are not reflective of Malaysian models. I've read the reviews on that site and most complaints were due to faulty RAM, which is covered under the guarantee.

Ok, my laptop has a pretty serious issue here.

The laptop fan has suddenly becomes so loud, I can hear it from 10m away. It sounds like grinding.

It started all of a sudden today. I had to show a presentation to a few big people, when my laptop suddenly made loud grinding noise as soon as I turned it on! Sometimes the sounds was screeching like mouse, it was so embarrassing. Lucky enough someone else brought a laptop so I borrowed his.

BUT DAMN I WAS SO PISSED OFF!

When I returned home, I removed the back cover and the fan, and there was some dust collecting around and on the fan, nothing significant, I've had much worse dust accumulation with my previous laptop but it never caused noisy fan. I wiped everything clean, and when I put the fan back the sound seemed gone. But as soon as I assembled everything, the freaking grinding sound returned! I disassembled the fan again, and I couldn't seem to find any reason for the grinding sound. Sometimes the sound disappeared for 1-2 sec when shook the fan, but overall it was noisy as hell. I could hear it from the next room.

This poor quality is just unacceptable to me. Anyone else have this issue? I want to send this for repair but I need to go to KL, so far. Maybe I'll go this weekend or next week after CNY.

I can bear with the high GPU temperature, but loud noisy fan drives me crazy! I am typing this post while trying to tahan hearing the grinding noise!

MSI guys how to fix this issue? FYI the fan vibrates when I hold it. Sounds like defective fan.

Lol, status update after more than 5 years later...

I replaced the defective CPU fan a few years ago, bought from Aliexpress for USD9.00. That fixed the overheating problem. Also bought a cooler pad that helped a lot. I think this laptop has shitty air ventilation and heat conducting. It needs bigger ventilation fins for sure.

Last week I replaced the Kingmax 128GB SSD with a Kingston A400 480GB SSD, and did a fresh Windows 10 reinstall using the Win7 key. Updated all drivers and the touch pad is not buggy anymore. The plastic moulding around the screen hinge has broken, really shitty build quality. Screen used to randomly turn off and turn back on when I smack it, but the problem seems to be gone after reinstalling Windows 10. The battery has been dead for years, replaced with a China battery that also died a few years ago. Probably circuit problem I don't know. A few keyboard keys are not responsive unless pressed hard, I hate typing on this laptop and gaming also ruined. For some reason ants love this laptop and this is what might caused all those issues.

I spent RM2500 on this laptop which was a good deal back then because of FHD MATTE screen (nowadays most laptops have glossy screen), decent GPU, SSD, Legit Windows 7 (box still unopened), and Razer Abyssus gaming mouse. But MSI has shitty support.

Nowadays I wouldn't spend that much on a laptop, so I'll keep this going as long as I can. Planning to add more RAM. 4GB is puny.
