My GPU spike to 90'c too, with or without battery, same temperature. Played BF3. I guess this is normal, but not good for long run tho, because the gpu might spoiled over the years.

I mostly play without batteries. Treating it like a desktop at the moment. Guess have to lower the graphic settings a bit or play in aircond room. Lol.

eventhough it's marketed as a 'gaming' laptop you still have to lower the setting

unless the game is old i wont bother put high, stressing a laptop is not a good idea

U need to ensure ur S-Bar is enabled. I am using U3 now, quite good, but it might too big sometimes.

no pic of it now, but will try to load later tomorrow once im home. the laptop is slightly larger than u2 though actually, but i just think that u3 could be a bit too big. personally dont feel much of improvement in temp reduction, even after motoring using hwmonitor. rather had it for the sense of ergonomic and improved airflow beneath the laptop. smile.gif

still crashed when im playing bf3 though with temp peaking at around 90C sad.gif (yes, thats at lowest setting)

Im using a CM NotePal X-Slim. Not too bad lar. Does lower the temp a bit. BF3 for me also CPU around 95, GPU 90. All low graphic settings also same temp. Scary to play too long sometimes.

I have System Control Manager installed. Sorta like an alternative to S-Bar if you hate the star on the desktop (which I really do). But the keys next to the on/off buttons still don't work, so I gave into S-Bar. Found the off monitor button so useful with my dual screen setup.

System Control Manager download at http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GT683.html#/...ty&os=Win7%2064 under Download > Utilities.
