by 9 according to my chief buddy, but in the booklet its 10. just be there at 9 to be safe, sleep in the library if it turns out to be 10 tongue.gif

dont think you need your laptops, can just use the comps in the library after, either that or they're gonna take you to the comp labs not too sure bout that, today was a mess thanks to the system messing up ><"

So yeah, just bring your laptop in case, if anything, it's a distraction if the briefing is boring like the learning skill guys talk today...

depends on your subject, your unit guide on blackboard should list the relevant text books. But I reckon you shoulnt buy em yet, heard they were changing the books for some subject, so better wait for your lecturers. Unless you're pretty sure and spot some good deal on the noticeboards tongue.gif

though I reckon you shouldn't waste too
mcuh money on textbooks, some
like accountig you definitely need, but you'd probably ony use marketing and management for assignments, might as well get em from the library.

Microecons textbook would e helpful if you're the study type, textbook explains a lot, but then again, library has a ton of old copies(old version, but pretty much same content) tongue.gif

Oh LOL OOPS laugh.gif Which one was you? I was in the front half somewhere. Got scared by the BCS powerpoints sad.gif Sigh wonder how to concentrate on studying and work hard while adapting to life in Clayton, if I get to go on exchange next year.

Er, WES still won't let me do anything. According to my friend in School of Arts, also same for her. But the IT problem more geram because we kena kick from ITS to IT Course Management to Student Services and still no resolution. The comps in the lab also won't let certain people sign in.

That learning skills talk was really painful. I could see people playing Temple Run in Audi 1 laugh.gif worst part was my laptop wouldn't connect to the internet so I had to use my phone to Facebook. Carried a 2kg deadweight around the whole day for nothing like that.

yes i'm from business and commerce, i would say textbooks are important to help you extend your knowledge beyond lecture notes to assist you to score higher for your finals?

sometimes lecture notes might be too brief, whereas textbooks can give more detailed information of real world examples.

i have plenty of year 1 unit textbooks.

u would definitely might require these, as they are your core units which is compulsory.

afw1000 principles of accounting and finance
ecw1101 microeconomics
ecw1102 macroeconomics
btw1200 business law
afw1300 money and capital markets (i advise you to take second semester)
etw1000 business and economics statistics

if you're interested, can pm me. smile.gif

young guy spiky hair wit the sweater lol...
do u have any programming or IT background?
cause i was from a pure science background and i survived BCS lolx...

anyways the basic thing i learn about BCS core (Comp Science, Algo and Data Structures and the 3rd year unit which i forgotten the name) is that pay attention to understanding instead of memorizing...
i usually dont write notes during lecture and jz focus on trying to understand lolx...
the moment u understand how things are modeled and process, everything becomes much easier...
i can help u if u have any question on those units (though i dun remember tat well anymore haha)...

not sure what's wrong, maybe the system crash did roll back everything...
try it tomorrow and see cause i am involved with the orientation stuffs at all since i am on the research side...

Haha, alright, we'll see how it goes. I don't remember seeing you because honestly la the whole day seeing all the new places and all the new faces, I felt so lost by the end. The campus is quite small (well compared to the Australian ones like Clayton) but everything is connected. I'm lucky I found Room 9303 at all.

Actually I was having problems doing it since yesterday but I thought it was because I was supposed to do it with the rest of the school.

Hi,

You might also try putting it up on bukuku.mywww.bukuku.my

Listing books is free. I hope you can sell out your books soon. It will help many first year students.

Cheers.

For business u do not need the statistics book.. U can buy it for extra practice but if your stats in alevels/pre-u was good I'd say its not required.. I survived stats 1102 with just the past year Q and attended all the tutes. Unless you are dead set on transferring out to clayton/caulfield then you'd look into taking stats 1000. 1102 was a walk in the park if u did stats up to level 3 in a levels XD

As for micro econs 1101 whichever version u buy also the same. Supply and demand etc has never changed over the years. maybe the examples changed a little but the important part is that u read the book, not worry bout which edition it is.

Hey guys. I'm done with arranging my first semester timetable. But for the auto allocated ones, I can't find the 'Pick Me' option to add it to my timetable.

There is only one possible choice for this group and it is automatically displayed only below, but this does not mean you are allocated!
If you have been successfully allocated to this activity it will appear under 'My Allocations'

I can't find My Allocations as well. -.-

1. Get your authcate account at https://mdsadmin-new.monash.edu.au/cgi-bin/register
REMEMBER ALL YOUR PASSWORDS tongue.gif

2. use your newly made log in id to log in wes https://my.monash.edu.au/wes/

3. complete the enrollment questionnaire, emergency contact details and mailing name format. (Its under the enrol/re-enrol option, top left box, first option)
TAKE DOWN YOUR TRANSACTION NUMBER FOR THE ENROLLMENT QUESTIONNAIRE. you're gonna need it to get your student id.

4. complete your unit enrollment, if you're unsure about your subject, just choose 4 of the 6 core units and go to the course management office to confirm with them.
ps: business and econ stats if you're planning to go to australia, and if you're not you can choose either business and econ stats(slightly harder apparetly) or business stats(easier)

5. Head over to student services(building 2, level 2), complete the questionnaire(its at one of the counters just ask them) to get your student id(they'll take your photo id as well)

Welcome to monash, hope this helps smile.gif

ouh, once you're done the unit enrollment you can start setting your timetable.
