QUOTE(Hand Sanitizer @ Jul 15 2013, 11:41 PM) So, I've officially graduated from Monash but I feel like shit. Averaged just 60% (1.798 - CGPA) from my accounting and finance course. Doubt any firm of note will even look twice at me, my resume would probably be relegated to the virtual trash bin before even reaching human eyes. It's depressing especially when some of my course mates have averaged 80+, some even 85+. Well, although CGPA is an important criteria to get jobs, how you present yourself during interviews is also important. try to apply for jobs first. and if your 'resume got relegated to the virtual trash bin before even reaching human eyes.' and you failed to land a job in the next 3-6 months then feel free to come back and rant. all the best to you.Don't really know why I've posted this here but I just need someplace to wallow in own self pity. No use doing it in real life so I just smile and pretend everything is fine but it sucks knowing that you've underperformed so miserably. Monash eh. 3 and half years of my life wasted in a desperate attempt to attain a piece of paper that, due to my own misgivings, means absolutely nothing. Depressing and I'm stuck at a point where I have no clue where to go next. |

QUOTE(ryan18 @ Oct 22 2013, 12:07 AM) then we would have much better food during my time in monash sunway if you got the cafetaria contract lunchbox isn't any better. just walk straight to rock cafe n get better food. there's a new burger and coffee shop as wellthink people prefer to eat in lunchbox SMR compared to the cafetaria nowadays even though its quite pricy |

QUOTE(newbzie @ Oct 22 2013, 04:38 AM) yeap in SMRQUOTE(ryan18 @ Oct 22 2013, 09:37 AM) well in desperate times i.e. time in between class and lunchtime is short, lunchbox is a ''reluctant'' option well unless i have less than 30 minutes time to spare or busy studying for tests or raining I would always go rock cafe when there is enough time, rock cafe, orange, white chicken rice(seems the uncle open his own shop already), subway is another option last time need to eat subway need to go all the way to pyramid (especially when there is buy1free1 promo time) |

Think for M'sian students they are required to sit for Auscat entrance exam for Monash Malaysia campus unlike for Clayton campus ? Thanks. Short answer, no. |

of course the rent in SMR is high, it's just next to the university. you can wake up 10 minutes before class starts and still reach on time

QUOTE(soundworks @ Nov 9 2013, 04:26 PM) so i heard in monash you dont look at your cgpa but you WAM right ? what about employers or other unis when you wanna do credit trasnfer there ? will they recognise the WAM or strictly follow our CGPA score even though CGPA isnt fair towards us monashians? on a general note employers usually follow CGPA.. but then again.. how you perform during the interview would be more important. yeah agree that the CGPA is unfair. oh well |

QUOTE(cckkpr @ Nov 12 2013, 12:18 PM) Just to check on the business transfer programs to Oz. probably that the lecturers there may give some tips. but most just go to Clayton to experience overseas studying life. What is the rationale for transferring to Clayton for the final year compared to those who remain at Sunway. Is it easier for your final exams in the sense that most of the questions are set by those lecturers in Clayton who are teaching you compared to those at Sunway who may not be aware of what questions are set? I am asking this because students sitting for ACCA in UK have a better chance of passing since most of the examiners are there and they do conduct a lot of last minute exams technique seminars, which more often than not tell the students what to expect. |
