DVD, pretty much restricted to 14''..
Colour choice, there's HP G4, Asus A43Sj, Vaio VPCEG16EG
But Asus A-series, its speaker isn't that loud..

dont go for hp it is selling laptop and pc business you wont have any support after 6 months...go for asus its really reliable...i suppose asus is no.1 in malaysia

Added on August 22, 2011, 3:04 ami wont go for hp even if it offers me 90 percent discount ..they themselves think that there products are of no use

Added on August 22, 2011, 7:09 amjust saw asus n55 live demo..it is worthy competitor to xps.. looks heavy and is thick as well..very glossy ..fingerprint magnet ..strange contrast between keyboard and display panel..decent screen but external sub woofer rocks..awsome sound..best sound from laptop at par with dell xps

Hi guys...I recently buy Asus A43TA, AMD A6-3400M + AMD HD6720G2@RM1799. and guess what? I got 30 freebies. But I quite confuse about the GPU name..at sticker the gpu name Radeon Graphics HD6720G2 but when i run GPU-Z it shows 2 types of gpu name. The first  is 6500m(512mb) and the 2nd is 6600m(1GB). apa maksud ni? hehe...

30 freebies..amazing deal...can you mention all

hi guys. im new here. im currently looking for a laptop that suits all the criteria below:
1. below 2k
2. have graphic (for moderate gaming only to play PES and FM)
3. will not cause overheating (my g455 has now overheated and died whenever i played FM for about 5 min)

any suggestions from pros?
*
go for acer 4750g .1.9k you get i5 and gt520m ...best deal in my opinion..llano processor is not future proof..in 2012 you will kick yourself..a6 is not a processor you wanna buy in this decade ..may be 2009

btw, need some suggestion. maybe out off topic.i'm planning on selling my old laptop (lenovo g455). it's already 2 years old. and have overheating problems and cannot play games anymore. how much such i put the price tag if i wanted to sell it? and if i wanted to repair it,how much will it cost? because this laptop is still good for gaming if its not because of the overheating processor.

what's wrong with the llano processor? does it have problems too?

some people said that acer sells only name. that's why many of my friends don't suggest me on taking any of their brands. acer too has a lot of problems. one of my friend only bought it for 3 month, already need to change a new monitor. does this model has a lot of negative reviews too?
*
llano processors are all about gaming..but then also they use crossfire for graphics cards which has driver issues as noted by notebookcheck.net..and the processors are like 2010 series of intel i3..so llano is not an allrounder.. And gt 520m has benefits of optimus too

I think if you are first timer go for nvidia cards ...ati have some driver issues or heating issues...asus ,acer ,dell, lenovo provide nvidia cards as discrete..go for them..they are good..gt 540m is a really good card..i have tried it on dirt2 and it give good performance...it is highly unrated..sad.gif..i believe gt540m is the best seller card in laptop this 3-4 months

Nvidia is also having their share of driver issues laugh.gif
No one is saying the Gt540m are poor cards  sweat.gif
They're still currently the best for a budget of between RM2.1-2.5k  thumbup.gif

yup...it is the best card in 2011 but highly under rated ... It has no complications ..optimus is hassle free...i believe amd has to work more hard to reach level of optimus

Brand: No specific preference
Budget: <RM5000 (Do state the Retail Price)
Usage: Moderate Gaming (Fifa, S2, HON...), Photo editing (Adobe Photoshop), media  and practically everything else (surfing, etc.)
Size: Nothing too small or too big. 15-17''

Note:

1) i5/i7
2) USB 3.0 port
3) At least 4GB RAM
4) Nothing weighing more than 3kg!
I had in mind Dell XPS 15. More suggestion so that I can visit Lowyat 1 day and try out all those laptop one shot myself!  biggrin.gif
*
go for xps 15 without doubt..go for full hd ..upgrade ram to 8gb ..upgrade to full hd..upgrade warranty to 3 years ..and backlit keyboard..also upgrade to 256gb ssd..that should work out best for you

Added on September 2, 2011, 2:00 ami just tried a asus n55..it looks really heavy..3kg for a 15 inches is very very heavy..in 1 year it will feel like a heavy rock...it will feel boring to carry a rock or a stone with you...dont buy any 15 inches more than 2.5 kg..

Almost all at full spec!
I saw the ASUS G53SX series, specification is damn good but the design is horrible, no offence, lol.
I got the XPS 15 instead tongue.gif
