Just started watching Suburgatory last week.

Funny one, I say. biggrin.gif

equally or better than Modern Family? i assume its similar genre (family comedy, teens vs parents stuff, single camera style)

i watched Modern Family, enjoyed the 1st season. but dropped in the middle of 2nd season (around 4th episode, getting boring)

watched Suburgatory

only watched the pilot, ive decided to drop it.. its a bit funny, but its like watching Desperate Housewives girls version. probably not an accurate comparison by me, but its certainly not for me.. too girlish.. though i like the leading character (the teenage girl)

anyone watching californication?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0904208/

any reviews?

if u accept nudity, that's one for you.. huge numbers non explicit of sex scenes and beautiful chicks (most of them 30 something)

the lead character (Hank) is a very pathetic man. lucky fella though, able sleep with almost every beautiful women he met.. gifted novel writer, but on writer's block most of the time.. have a complex relationship with his long standing lover /ex-partner and his teenage daughter..

i think the latest season (S04) is the best.. the rest are quite average, but fun.. Charlie (Hank's best friend cum agent) awkwardly funny man..

will resume the S05 on Jan 2012..

Hell On Wheels

ive watched the first 3 episodes. i think the basic stories are very interesting. post US civil war, slavery, Red Indians vs white, black vs white, rail road building and revenge.. and not many recent tv series based on 1860s..

but the acting are mediocre.. its big let down, but i think ill continue to watching it..

House Of Lies - new tv show on Showtime. Don Cheadle plays a management consultant at a top firm. Showtime is the same channel that Californication is on, so you should know what to expect smile.gif

Highly recommended

after  Pan Am come Bomb Girls.....

another new one is Jane By Design..

really not enough time to watch....China, Hong Kong, Korean and US TV series....so many (have to skip Local, Taiwan, Thailand and Japan)
*
Bomb Girls, any good?

hard to get an info.. its Canadian mini -series.. not many reviews around..

from the synopsis, its probably good..

Bomb Girls profiles the stories of five women working in a Canadian munitions factory in World War II. They find themselves thrust into a new world, and changed profoundly as they are liberated from their home and social restrictions.

Any good mature, twisted storyline of cop/criminal series to recommend? couldn't find any good ones since The shield, The wire, the OZ. recent ones are pretty lame, one off episodes.
*
cop /criminal stuff .. Sherlock (UK).. airing on e02s02..

if u like The Wire, u probably will like Boss.. s01 just ended.. but Boss arent cop /criminal.. political drama, cut throat and back stabbing world.. with nudity..

I downloaded Mad Dogs S1 coz I heard its good, haven't seen it yet though. Now I think I might. Good to see someone else watching the UK shows as well smile.gif

the season 1 are pretty good. 4 ordinary Joe's dealing with gangster, corpse, drug money etc.. some kind of dark comedy. its mini series, 4 episodes, its definitely worth a try for everyone..

the 2nd season are quite OK too.. and they will make the 3rd season..

why nobody mention Awake???

i anticipate it. probably the basic idea came from Himitsu. Japanese novel turned to film (Japanese), Hollywood remake it, and another JDrama couple of years ago..

big different is, Awake build on 2 parallel lives.

Smash

ive watched the first 2 episodes. my GF force me to watch it with her.. TBH i always thought musical drama are always made for woman and gay people. so i never give myself a chance to watch it.

it turn out to be OK, not boring, perhaps the fans of this kind of drama will be very enjoying it.

but this certainly not my kind things, so i'll drop it. the thing i hope this kind genre will change, please use original voice of the actor /actress (hire a singer who can act) and dont dub it (live and actual singing).. the songs might not be perfect to the ears but it'll seem more realistic..

I just watched The Firm at AXN..I really like this series..surprisingly really good for me..i love the episode premier.. I really the dialog from the judge how he encourage the offenders but at the same time give fair review for the victim family .. this series really come with a good storyline..anticipated for next episode..
*
The Firm

currently im on ep08. one of my favourite series currently airing.. at first, i feel skeptical with the court-trial-lawyer scenes, i expected cliche law drama.. but the cases are good, the outcome /verdict are quite unpredictable.. though IMO the casting are quite weak.

i like how they build up fast-forward-scene /future scene.. though the main case (Sarah Holt) are quite lame and weak, but everything are still unfold and unclear..

Started watching Inside Men (UK). Pretty good. The 4th episode (and finale) will be released next week I think smile.gif

About a group of people planning to rob the place they work at (cash counting facility for the government).

watched the first episode. quite nice. but the characters are not really strong..

the security system seem are bit loose. 3 or 4 inside worker working together can easily find a hole..

QUOTE(expl0it @ Feb 29 2012, 07:55 PM)
Falling Skies - yes
The Event - cancelled
Terra Nova - not decided yet
