QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ Aug 22 2011, 10:32 PM) Hey guys I was thinking of getting a 70-200mm lens and was interested in the Sigma so i tested it out in a shop.. what do you guys thing about the image quality and sharpness? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This was taken at 200mm, f2.8, 1/30secs, ISO 180 Trying potrait of my gf and sister 70mm, f2.8, 1/30secs, ISO250 It seems sharp even without VR, What do you guys think? Or should I just save up and get the Nikon version with VR II. I totally forgotten to take photos at f8-11 at the lens sharpest point.. Im still new at this... What else do I need to look for? Thanks guys! handshake is quite apparent here..your photos are not exactly tack sharp.. if you have the money get the VR II version. Learn how to use you ISO properly as well to get a higher shutter speed. Lastly, you don't buy a tele lens and shoot f8-f11 all the time, it doesnt serve the purpose. My 2 cents.

QUOTE(razuryza @ Aug 23 2011, 12:21 AM) may explain this more? my experience with tele, f/8-f/13 is normal to shoot people in group.. Now how often do you use your tele to shoot a group photo? If that's the case, might as well get a 70200 f4 and save a few thousand. Furthermore, the people in your group will not move and having low shutter speeds to shoot them is still quite possible. QUOTE(Isepunye @ Aug 23 2011, 12:23 AM) i dont think its a 70200 by looking ur gf and sister picture. not sharp enuff for thats monster lens Added on August 23, 2011, 12:30 ami bought 116 and shoot at F16 for landscape and F4 for all rounder shoot. so it doesnt serve the purpose of F2.8? i bought tammy and normally F4 for all time for indoor. doesnt served the purpose? anyway spam for my latest job, advert for Hijab/tudung/scarf » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « dude, your tokina is a UWA, not a tele. and for your tammy, f4 and f8 is a huge gap la bro. QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 24 2011, 10:56 PM) Okay I get what you mean now for point 1. I don't recall exactly how many steps required but its about there. On the second part is point where you meant Sony is more user friendly than Nikon right? Or rather Nikon do not have that? Actually Nikon have similar to what you have shown in video no.2, but in a wider variety. But that one can only be accessed in the menu. For Sony, can be accessed from top LCD only? the sony a700 doesn't have a top LCD to begin with...

Even my entry level a300 can set custom WB as fast as the a700 in that 4 steps. Waiting for the video

But one thing for sure entry level Nikon bodies can't set exact Kelvin values for white balance. Correct me if i'm wrong

QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 27 2011, 07:01 PM) I don't think they are really into mirrorless segments as what they announced previously. Olympics, Canon and Nikon definitely will release their body by then. 2008 was the turning point for Nikon when they released their first FF, D3 and also the ISO performance champ at that time. About Sony... don't know about this. So far Sony FF are just slow for fast paced actions unlike the D3s or the 1Dmk4. Unless they launch a pro level body, then this will put pressure to both Nikon and Canon . Not to mention better for us consumers keke since all will be pushing hard for their new line ups. the a77's speed has already bypassed the D3s and 1Dmk4...waiting for the final review.. 1dMk4 isn't exactly full frame right? So let's leave the D3s out of the equation for now This post has been edited by zstan: Aug 27 2011, 07:13 PM

Well, it took Sony 4 years to come out with this beast (losing a lot of users in the process) , if Nikon/Canon needs 4 more years i am sure people won't mind

QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 30 2011, 11:44 PM) The cheapest prime will beat the crap out of kit lens... they are simple and easier to build. Not as complicated as zoom lens, only the pro grade zoom lens comes close to a prime's IQ performance. fixed

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 13 2011, 01:28 PM) Well, DSLR use in LiveView mode is IMHO, worst than Point and Shoot, it's slow and it blacks out. Plus, the handling when using LiveView, you'll find that even using handphone is better to handle since it's light, small, compact, easy to reach, etc. Unless really there's need for it, I try to prevent using LiveView; Those with swivel LCD might give more reason to use, but still the performance is still the same. Funny, the live view problem doesn't happen at all in my entry level DSLR. QUOTE(Agito666 @ Sep 13 2011, 03:16 PM) ya hor =x i duno sony's SLT price, is it cheaper compare to spec... ? but then gonna re-learn again the system / menu GUI lor Aiyo..what's so hard to re-learn to interface again.. one day of fiddling around then you can get used to it already...
