i only have the basic lens kit with the canon, which i plan to do the same with the d7000, except maybe a wide angled lens.

the price is cheaper here in msia for the d7k so what the heck i just picked it up so i could learn how to use the camera 1st before i went to hk instead of taking auto all the time if i were to purhcase it in hong kong

No, what I meant was that you said it was lucky that it fell while the camera was attached with the speedlight, and you said that it suffered less damage because of that... Doesn't matter anyway.. Any other damage apart from your filter?

i read somewhere that the 28-300, except for the nano coat, has the exact same optics as the gold ring 24-120 f/4.
so its optics isnt exactly that bad.
but if want value for money in a all-in-one zoom lens, go ask ur fren search for a used 28-200...they're around rm800-900.

Oh yeah forgot to ask this question, back when I was filming, there was one day when my live view has problems... That time when I was filming a particular scene it was close to twelve(outdoors) and I keep getting a few errors saying "Error: live View could not start" or something like that, had to try a few times before i could turn it on.. Any ideas why is this happening?
