QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 16 2011, 10:54 AM) f/1.8D kinda fail compared to f/1.8G . Want cheap and sharp lens can go to f/1.8G instead. Well, if 'COMPARED' can be added into the context then why 50f18G only? Why not compared to (alang-alang sudah keluar tajuk kan) 35f18G and 50f14D also?

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Jul 18 2011, 03:31 PM) So far, I checked gstrapinuse offers the cheapest price among I asked. I'm still considering should I take the AP-48EX or straight away get the AP-68EX to be safe if u're planning on upgrading ur arsenal then go for the bigger one (i assume its the 68EX kan?) because more space is always better.. price wise, i dont know much he he he

QUOTE(opfish @ Jul 21 2011, 01:47 PM) Eyefi different leh.... So normal USB extension will do? When are you free, so that you can pass me the 'promised' disc? Wah surely eyefi is waaaaay better for tehthering, don't you think so? No need messy wires.. Haven't tried yet but I think it's a great tool (by theory) But don't know if u can control the shutter/autofocus wiith the computer.. (On liveview mode)

QUOTE(chiahau @ Jul 24 2011, 11:27 PM) Well, if you are good, using M all the way is no problem. At least, for me. Just need some tweak here and there but generally, if its an important shoot, just use A for safety. same as me.. but because most of the time too lazy to change2 then Aperture priority lah~ QUOTE(vearn27 @ Jul 25 2011, 12:17 AM) Just revisited DOF Master, shooting approximately 8 ft from the subject will give me approximately 9.78 ft of DOF which is enough to cover what I'm shooting yesterday where maximum there was 20 of them to fit 17mm (25.5 effective) focal length. Hmm... I shouldn't be afraid to step up my aperture value ._. I'm worried shooting at 1/30 will cause blurry image although equipped with flash. Furthermore, this is the first time I officially shot using the new lens 17-55 and without VR. If I'm stepping up my aperture value, I shouldn't need to be worry on SB-900 overheat if I'm using TTL mode In fact, I actually have a couple of shots using Aperture Priority at f/2.8 before I forgotten that I have no switch to Programmed Auto which is at f/7.1. The earlier seem looks better than the latter too technical hahaha but very good explaination

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Jul 29 2011, 11:47 AM) That time only D70 body. Both pics were shot with the AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8 + 1.4xTC. eh wait, does 1.4x TC means - 200mm x 1.4 = 280mm, OR - 2oomm x 1.4 = 280mm + 200mm = 480mm ? never use before so still wondering~

QUOTE(amani @ Jul 30 2011, 11:00 AM) Hi nikonian guys out there..wanted to ask some opinion..im planning to buy a dslr..n i would prefer nikon..coz i used to play my brother's d7000..so im a bit familiar wit nikon UI..budget is limited..is it worth to get d5100 which doesnt hve built in motor?is it a good investment for about next 2 years?or i just buy 2nd hand d90 which have motor inside..is the motor is really a problem? In a way (IMHO) they make the d7000 as a 'successor' for the d90.. But both d7000 and d5100 are using the same sensor.. Just the built-in motor's a difference.. And for the long run, having a built-in motor boy will benefit u more, cause u obviously can but lenses that don't have motor in them.. Cause believe it or not, u're gona buy lenses in the near future to fit ur shooting style, and most lens (nikon or 3rd party) which have motor on it costs as much as double than their non-motor lens counterpart.. Ie the 70-300G (motor and VR) is around RM1700 but the non motor version is around RM700.. (For current exact price u can check at ur shops or shashinki.com) so for me, if u're going for 2 years prospec then get a body with motor in it..

On Dx body, for the focal range the 35mm is better for walk-around lens.. In terms of sharpness, bokeh, etc then its sometimes personal..
For portraiture then focal length 50mm is better, most people have this lens..
50mm versions: f1.8D, f1.8G, f1.4D, f1.4G 35mm versions: f1.8G
Add more cause these are the ones I know/tried..
Best choice? It depends on u. Try both and see which one u're comfortable.. (Focal length, sharpness, bokeh, user friendly etc)

QUOTE(pziv2 @ Jul 31 2011, 11:24 AM) QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jul 31 2011, 11:48 AM) huh? Where got fix? 50mm on DX is about 75mm on FX 35mm is the range in Fx; so in Dx body its 35 x 1.5 (crop factor) = 52.5mm So 50mm is 75mm in Dx body!

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Aug 3 2011, 07:56 PM) For this, probably because the 50mm cheaper than 35mm kua... Equivalently, the 50f18G and 35f18G is roughly the same price range Only the 50f18D is cheaper QUOTE(kEazYc @ Aug 3 2011, 08:26 PM) What's BG again i remember i asked before lol, but forgotten what is it. :S EDIT: oh nvm, remember'ed, it is battery grip.
