Before jumping onto conclusions, can you point out where did the camera focus on? What focus was used? AF-S, AF-C or AF-A? You can open up the pic in View NX2 and locate where the camera finally decided to focus on.
*
focused on the middle broad black line using AF-S, single point middle(center of 9 points).
heard a lot of people having back focus issues.. but this one is having front focus.. maybe because of the lens itself (50mm 1.8G), should try with kit lens too.

My 2 cents, your paper seems 'senget'?

Definitely it will be 'front focus' IMO. Cause it is tilted and the 10mm is closer to the line u focus in the same plane.

thank you for your feedback.. biggrin.gif will post the result here again soon..

Ic... but i dun think im gonna get prime lens straight away...

Does any1 knows if the 18-200mm VRII worth it the price paying for?
Or just go for the 18-105mm VR?
*
18-200mm obviously has long reach.. its a great lens since it covers a lot of focal length.
has metal mount, more barrel distortions and less sharp than 18-105mm.. front lens also rotates and needs 77mm filter(AFAIK)

18-105mm is a kitlens has high MTF consistently except until at the long end(105mm). plastic mount and need 67mm(great if you're gonna buy the Tammy 17-50mm f2.8 in your next lens purchase) ..

So, if you're going for picture sharpness, details.. get 18-105 or better get the superior 16-85mm.. but if you want to have all in one lens, get the 18-200mm since its gives you more convenient.. no need to change lens for tele..

Mostly people would suggest you to get 18-200mm unsure.gif

Encountered a problem here. Hope you guys can help.

So I take a few shots with the 50mm f/1.8G lens with AF-S and single focus point. When I just half press the shutter button, it will focus lock and press the button all down it will take the shot. The static object is in focus with aperture f/1.8 and shutter speed of 1/250 & even 1/30 if its in the middle without the need to recompose.

The problem is that the static object is somewhat blurry when I recompose with the 'half shutter button pressed' and even by using the 'AE-L, AF-L button'. The same shot was taken with 1/250 and 1/30 at aperture f/1.8. FYI the 'blurry rate' of the two shutter speed is very similar.

I did learned that to get non blur shot is with shutter speed of 1/X where X is the focal length(with DX format times it with 1.5). In this case, not less than 1/75 ?

In short explanation( direct shot-->focus, composed shot-->blurry)

If put aside the handshake problem, what other things could cause this blur result?

Thanks.
