Hello Nikonians,
I am considering D7000 and am putting a lot of priority over weight and image quality. I don't want something that is heavy as I will be bringing this camera for hiking trip most of the time. Is there any good, cheap and light lens to recommend to pair together with this D7000?

QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Sep 10 2011, 05:34 PM) Then d7000 kit lens is good already my fren Hmm I don't know. I've been to Nikon center at BTS and the rubber seal of the 18-105 has came off. I am a bit skeptical about it. Anyway thanks for the recommendation. Do you think of any nice primes for a good combo?

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 10 2011, 07:40 PM) I think you are referring to the rubber on the zoom ring? Its normal, especially its a demo unit where customers try out every day. Yes. Hmm I'm just afraid that if camera got molested often the rubber might come off but is it covered under warranty? This post has been edited by Icehart: Sep 10 2011, 08:09 PM

QUOTE(lwliam @ Sep 10 2011, 08:18 PM) The rubber is considered wear and tear so won't be covered under warranty. Don't touch the rubber with oily hands, and it will last very long. Oil causes rubber/plastic to expand. Hmm, I see. Thanks for the tips. QUOTE(Isepunye @ Sep 10 2011, 09:01 PM) around 30 bugs only to change that >< Thanks for telling.

QUOTE(tplus1 @ Sep 11 2011, 10:23 AM) D90 still worth buying? got a nice deal. still thinkin. Yeah I'm considering that too. Got a quote RM 1,700 for kit 18-105 VR included. For the price currently, D90 is a bargain. This post has been edited by Icehart: Sep 11 2011, 11:56 AM

QUOTE(FreakyRookie @ Sep 11 2011, 09:00 PM) Hello, i jz bought a NIKON D3100 kit with 18-55mm lens.. Can i know what is the normal price for a UV filter for my lens? Which lens u all recognize for me to take aft using 18-55mm lens? I prefer to snap photo about people.. Hmm I think if you just bought the camera you should explore more of the 18-55mm lens and after you know your photography style and limitations of the lens then you only purchase a more specific lens for the type of job desired.

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Sep 12 2011, 11:29 PM) Will the price of D700 decrease when the new one comes or it will be discontinued? Feeling like a D700. Probably better to get 2nd hand? Ok with the lens price?

QUOTE(darkavenger @ Sep 13 2011, 10:34 AM) Guys, is it worth upgrading from D90 to D7000 now? Knowing Nikon DSLR cycle, D7000 replacement will only come next year… and if D800 comes out in October, I still can't afford it ;P D90 is no doubt a good DSLR but why do you plan to upgrade to D7000? Mind to share any limitations in D90 that has been fixed in D7000?
